Eleven Elements ...

That's the challenge over at the Shabby Tea Room this week ... to me it sounded kinda daunting ... but yesterday I made a card for my friend's daughter ... Laura who celebrates her birthday in a few days ... ... and my SIL was looking at it and asking how many papers I used etc. and that caused me to count my elements ... Yahoo! eleven! Really? ... well I counted a few times to be sure ... here we go ...

1. Card stock (printed in vintage cream)
2. Four different papers ( all SU) ... makes 5 ...
6. Crafty Secrets image
7. Stitching
8. Satin ribbon
9. Tape measure twill tape
10. Black tulle
11. Silver and pearl embellishment
Yep ... eleven ... so here is my card ...

I used to take care of Laura ... she kind of grew up with Mikey ... like brother and sister ... often playing but mostly fighting and squabbling! So I taught her to sew ... to cook ... all things creative and girlie ... which proved to be a waste of time (LOL!) and now she is leaving to travel ... so she will appreciated this card and the memory behind it ... and no doubt have a chuckle ...

Before I go ... I wanted to just mention something about Facebook .... I've have a few requests lately to be "friends" which is so nice ... and I have no problem in accepting these requests ... BUT ... I don't usually put anything on Facebook ... Now call me paranoid ... but I am soooo wary ... See, when I lost my Mum ... within days her identity had been stolen ... When I should have been grieving ... I was fighting to clear her name ... it took me 9 months ... It broke my heart all over again ... she never owed anyone in her life ... and bills were piling up from some ruthless evil person, that probably new her and lived near her ... someone she probably trusted ... So forgive me if I do not correspond via Facebook ... ignore requests to give out information etc.,  you might think this strange ... me being a blogger an all but that's just me ...

Till soon

I'm completely in awe over this one Ros, it's magnificent! Your fab image to begin with and your ribbon treatment, of course! Don't worry about feeling strange, you're NOT (I feel the same about Hyves, Twitter and the whole lot). I'm sorry to hear that you've had to put up with all this trouble, it's hard enough to lose your mum...
Have a great weekend, Ira x

Such a gorgeous card! I recognise the papers too!! The picture is so sweet- I have one of those sewing machines still- just too beautiful to give away. How horrible that you had to deal with that situation- I don't blame you for keeping your info to yourself.
