City Crafter Harvest Festival

Good Morning!
It's my turn to host at City Crafter this week and we are celebrating
Harvest Festival

I am asking that you to create a card or project that includes something related to the harvest of the land ...

Here in the UK we don't have Thanksgiving Day ... but for as long as I can remember we always had Harvest Festival at school and at church ... when we would bring offerings of fruit or vegetables and give thanks to God for blessing us with the harvest. Some of the kids brought the most beautifully decorated baskets of  fruit ... all the offerings were distributed to the poor and needy ... Looking back WE were the poor and needy and yet my Mum always managed to find us something to give ... there was no fancy wrappings but it didn't matter ... I was just so proud to place my things on the altar ...
My project is in memory of those gifts and because I am grateful that I live in a time and place where food is plentiful

Yep, still using that basket template ...

... and adorning it with flowers, leaves and fruit ... even a little dough bread ...

I hope you will join our celebration ... the winner this week will be invited as a Guest Designer in one of our upcoming challenges ... Please hop over to the blog to see all our DT projects and meet this weeks' wonderful Guest Designer Wendi ... I hope to see you there ...

Till soon

~ Ros ~

Ros reading your story about the Harvest Festival was so delightful! I loved reading about the Harvest Festival. It sounds like a wonderful event and the fact that you gave despite your own family in need. Your basket of givings is beautiful with the green leaves, yellow lemon, and that piece of bread! That's too cute! I love the template. Keep making away to share with us. :-)

Such a lovely and unique harvest idea. Love the inspired use of salt dough. It's such a lovely testament to your mum that she gave when she didn't have much. That explains a lot about why you're so lovely!! Have a super day xx
