City Crafter Postcards

Hello and Good Morning ...

This week at City Crafter Sweet Linda Robinson is our host and she is challenging us to make a Postcard ... another first for me and I knew just what I wanted to do ...

When I was a little girl I had a cousin ... Marcelle ... she was beautiful, vivacious and everyone who ever met her fell in love with her ... She was older than me by about 5/6years and lived a very different life from me in London ... and whilst a teenager she went off to Spain ... She sent me a postcard of a Spanish dancer
The dress was made of layer upon layer of frills in ribbon and covered in sequins ... I thought it was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen and for many years it was a treasured possession ... I lost my cousin 29years ago ... and I never forgot that postcard or her inner and outer beauty ...
My Postcard is in remembrance ... done in my style

With the exception of the dress ... everything here is digital

... and just to show you the reverse ...

I created the wording in Photoshop and added stamp graphics

So ... do you have a Postcard memory? ... why not join us at CCCB this week and share it?
Our wonderful Guest Designer this week is ... Karen Letchworth ... I love her work ... and our sponsor this week is Catherine Pooler of Stamp Nation ... Catherine is offering a 2 week membership to Stamp Nation FREE to our winner ... Please click on the link to discover all about Stamp Nation and be inspired by tutorials and an extensive gallery ...
... And as if this isn't enough ... you can still hop over to CCCB and see the rest of the DT's Postcards
Well, have I tempted you? I hope so ...

Have yourselves a wonderful day and thanks so much for stopping by

~ Ros ~

Ros, I know exactly what you mean: I got such a postcard from Spain... and I loved these postcards, when I was a little girl! The Spanish one I got from my parents - I used it as a cover for my wedding-gifts-notebook ( to remember what gift we got from whom, so that we can thank all of them).
Your card is a stunner again - romantic and elegant... the deep red rose is so romantic! Very beautifully done!
Have a nice evening!

I was reading your story Ros and thought, yes, I know exactly which dress card Marcelle must have sent you, they were all the rage in those days. But then you gave me the shivers... You have made a beautiful hommage to your cousin, fantastic combination of images and that shabby dress of yours is oh la la! Hugs, Ira

What a fabulous postcard, Ros! such a wonderful memory. I have postcards my dad sent from all over to me before I was born. The postman told my mom,"I did not know you had a Sylvia". So even before I was born there were wonderful memories being born. I still have quite a few of the post cards. Happy November!

Sorry to hear about your sweet cousin.
This is one lovely postcard, how funny is that, all 3 of us used the paris image, I didn't realize until I was doing that post for CCCB!
Hey, join in the swap if you want!
