Anniversary Card

I'm loving the pretty Eline's Huis Winter pastels collection at the moment ... the pretty colours remind me more of spring than winter ... I've done a few cards with this pack which I can share in the next few weeks ... mostly DT projects ... but today I have a card for a friend who is celebrating her wedding anniversary

See how pretty these papers are ... I'm particularly loving the blue
With all the new releases following CHA ... I can't wait until the UK suppliers get their stock ... I'm loving the Prima ranges and of course Melissa Frances ranges ...

I guess I really should use up all the papers I have first ...

On a different note ... do you ever watch a film and it stays with you ... I'm like that with books too ... I plucked up the courage to watch a film the other night called The Last Lions ... you all know I'm a big animal lover ... what I didn't know is that the Lion population has decreased from 450,000  to just 20,000 in the last 50 years ... due to our ever increasing population we are robbing them of their lives and their land ...

This film sees the perilous journey of a lioness ... a mother of 3 cubs and devoted to her mate ... as she fights for survival and to protect her young following an attack of a huge pack of rival lions that saw her mate fatally injured.  It was gut wrenching, brutal, and at times hard to watch ...
Not for the first time I thought just how much we can learn from these beautiful creatures ... their parenting skills ... their love and devotion ... their courage and strength in the face of adversity ... and even the forgiveness she showed to her enemies ... It is a film that will stay with me for a long time to come ....

Thank you for stopping by and for all your sweet comments
Have a lovely weekend

Your card is beautiful!
Pretty colours and design.
Yes we are treating the wild animals really bad... It's not only the lions but gorillas, elephants, rhinos etc. etc.
I love animals too and I agree, we have a lot to learn from the animals.
Hugs, Heidi:)

beautiful card Ros...
i'm an animal love too :D
i can't bear to watch shows
that show animals hurt or abused (even by their own species)...i know it happens, but it brings me
to tears...but these kinds of shows need to be produced, so we see what is
happening to our world!
thanks for sharing :D

Gorgeous card, Ros, I love the background paper you used! The movie sounds quite good. Unfortunately, there are so many animals that are becoming extinct. It is sad that man can not learn that the animals were and are here for a reason. Have a wonderful weekend.

Beautiful card, those papers are gorgeous. I've never heard of that film, it is so sad to see beautiful wild animals dwindle in numbers, those figures are shocking.xxx

Perfect wedding card Ros, the glittery heart makes such a fine centrepiece. And to answer your question, oh yes, regularly! Sometimes you need a couple of days to shake off certain feelings after seeing something emotional... Have a great weekend, Ira x

Loveliness as usual. The papers are so beautiful. You're so right about the animals. We're destroying such beautiful and necessary parts of our world. I like a film that makes me think and stays with me. Where did you see it? x

Gorgeous card, Ros! And as for the lions: there was an interesting article on the issue in one of the more recent National Geographic Magazines. I'll check whether I still have it - don't think so, though.

Oh Ros, your card is completely gorgeous, my friend!!! And also, I had no idea about the lion population...I remember when I was young seeing the movie Born Free...it was wonderful too.

Such a beautiful card, Ros. I love absolutely everything about it.

I didn't see that film. But like you, Ros, I'm an animal lover, and I would probably have been in tears if there was anything sad. We don't have any grandchildren, and I'm so soppy with our sons adoreable gentle giant Bull Mastiff x

Hi Ros, I am well thanks and I hope you are too. I just love your anniversary card. It is really beautiful as are all your designs. Spring is here and yes, a warm two weeks ahead...wow! I can't watch animal cruelty. I hate humans being cruel to animals, but it is different in a way, when it is happening in the natural world the way nature intended.
Keep busy and have a brilliant week!
