Fading Summer ...

Looking out my window today it looks like autumn ... the wind is blowing, the skies are heavy with rain and the flowers and trees are on the turn ...
I haven't seen the usual influx of moths and butterflies this year ... probably due to the enormous amount of rain we've had all summer ... a few bees collecting the last of the pollen are still braving the winds ...
And at least I can still create my paper butterflies ...

I made this card for friends who celebrated their wedding anniversary last week

Background paper from the lovely Astrid who creates these beauties for free ... along with a tag from Jen Allyson's Vintage Findings

I used some scraps from my ever growing stack to add layering ... and tiny beads for the butterfly bodies with some very fine craft wire for the antennae ... fiddly but worth it
... A little close up

If you click to enlarge you may just see the glitter on the doily and the liquid pearls on the paper
These have to be my favourite butterflies

Creatively, I have an idea in my head at the moment and have to follow it through ... is it like that for you?
I know I should be thinking about my card for the challenge at Jingle Belles before time runs out ... but hopefully that will come too ...

Thanks for stopping by ...

Have a beautiful day

You always create the most beautiful collage cards, Ros, and this one is no exception. I love your pretty butterflies...I like to add wire antennae to my butterflies, too.
Thank you for the link to Astrid's wonderful blog x

Beautiful anniversary card, Ros, I love your butterflies as well! Yes, My thought processes go the same way. Sometimes I have it going through my head for a long time before it finally surfaces with a design. Good luck there and enjoy the final days of summer. So glad you have had the rain you need for fall. Have a great Friday!

Lovely romantic card Ros. The papers are beautiful and I love the doily. I had about 5 ideas I wanted to try last week and they all ended up in a bin.. maybe it's fading summer blues?

Again, a most wonderful card. And yes, it's like that with me, too: there's an idea in my head which blocks out almost everything else and you just have to get it out. That's what's happening in my bedroom tomorrow... total renovation. I woke up one morning with that idea in my head and now finally I get to follow up on it and get it out of my system! Enjoy the weekend!

oooooooooooh! this is just so lovely and sooooo ethereal! teeeny tiny wire antennae??!?!!? your attention to detail blows me away--but then this is why your creations are so amazing!

(& YES! i totally hear ya with regard to needing to follow A GREAT IDEA, even when it is at the expense of other things with shorter deadlines, that is the story of my life, missus!!!) (but you know i really BELIEVE that if i stop following those "lightbulb" ideas, they will stop COMING TO ME, so i never blow them off!!!) :) :) :)
