Just a note ...

It's another sunny day here and I'm feeling a lot better ... Thanks so much for your well wishes ...
I've been working on some up coming DT projects and took a little time out to make a simple card from some of my scraps ....

and lovely stamp from Kaisercraft ... You know how much I love all things postal ... I so love the internet ... but I really miss receiving real letters ... handwritten thoughts in ink ... Letters that you can just refold, tuck back into the envelope and save to read again and again ...

I have a little note written to me by my Dad ... when I was about 8 or 9 ... it was hastily written on a 'paying in' slip from the post office ... but I will never part with it ... or the envelope it came in ...
It's his handwriting ... a small part of the man that I miss so much ...

Just a note can mean so much ... don't you think?

Enjoy your day

~ Ros ~

Your note is beautiful Ros, I too cherish the things both my mom and dad wrote to me. My dad always sent me postcards from his travels, I have one he sent before I was born, I guess he knew I would be a Sylvia. Have a wonderful day and so glad you are feeling better!

Oh yes, there's nothing like handwritten notes, even when they're scribbled on scraps of paper, when they're from people we love or have loved deeply then we will cherish these notes for the rest of our lives... I have entire boxes filled with notes my mom used to write to me and they're so so very dear to me... Glad to hear you're doing much better Ros and I love your use of this gorgeous stamp, a very fine note this is indeed!

I think WOW! This is pure elegance and beauty all wrapped up in one. LOVE all those postage marks and your stitching! And I'm with you on the hand-penned notes! I have a big box full of precious notes that people took the time to write to me, that I'll never part with. Now, all I seem to get are purchased cards with a signature under the printed sentiment :(. We're just too busy, Ros!

Love the different size- a real sense of calm to it. I agree about the letters. Emails just ain't the same. Love the story about your Dads letter- good having things to treasure although I'm sure you'd rather have your Dad than a lovely note. Have a good weekend and hope you're still taking it easy xx

Beautiful...love the gorgeous mix of colors...so soft and pretty! I saw on Pinterest where they are printing a handwritten recipe from a family member and then framing them, and also printing handwritten postcards on fabric and making pillows...I thought it was such a nice idea for a memory keepsake, I have a postcard of when my Dad was in the army and on a train to his next post that he sent to his mother (my grandmother) before he ever met my Mom, what I love is he says "the girls get prettier at every stop"...we tease my Mom about it!!

Beautiful card and memory, Ros. I have my Mother's cookbook with her writing in the margins ... I treasure it and will never keep it anywhere but in my kitchen. I smile every time I look up one of her recipes and see those familiar words.

Glad to hear you're feeling better!

Hi Ros,
Sorry I missed this. Your note card is soooo pretty. I love the postal stamp you used and your pretty floral embellishment.
Just like you, I treasure hand written messages and cards from family members who are no longer with us. It's lovely to take them out occasionally and read them xx

Hi Ros,

"Just a note" can mean so much. I am glad you saved the little note from your dad. Your card is so pretty; I would never think to stamp postage on polka dot paper...I love this! I have a drawer FULL of postage-theme rubber stamps that have not seen ink in a long while....perfect inspiration! Such a lovely card...beautiful stitching, pretty flower, and the gem for the dot of the "j"...perfect!
