Cars and Critters

It's a cold Thursday here ... Yesterday we had warm sunshine (with showers) but today it is a lot colder (with showers) ...
I have a new little friend ... a cute squirrel ... who for the past 2 weeks has been  hurrying here and there collecting the falling nuts. He comes right up to my window about 10 times a day ... and stops to look in ... like he's saying hello - But every time I grab the camera ... he off like a bullet!
He's not the only one on the hunt for food ... the last few evenings the cat has been bringing home field mice ... It's quite funny really ... see my son like me cannot bear to see an animal hurt ... so he frees the mouse from the cat and then tries to catch it to make sure it is ok ... Guess you can't stop nature
..........
A few weeks ago my blog friend Jak contacted me and asked if I would make a birthday card for her Husband's upcoming 50th ... She said he liked vintage cars, bikes and radio's ...
Jak was so kind to send me a whole heap of goodies for my Thursday group a few years ago so it was a pleasure to be able to do something in return for her kindness

This is what I came up with

It'd kinda difficult when you don't know a person ... but I know that Jak really like the card

All papers are from DCWV and though you probably can't see it ... the car is raised and glossy against the mat paper ...
........
Did you see the latest releases from PTI? I do love their goods but we have to pay huge import duty here in the UK ... so that with the postage means it is far too expensive for me to order stuff but I love to see the samples and I was particularly taken with Nicole's lovely bead bracelet ... It's been on my "to do" list for ages ... so I used my cameo to cut a few strips of paper and 'voila!' ... my bead bracelet

I am nowhere near as dexterous as Nicole (who makes everything look so simple) and though I did get to finish this to my satisfaction .. it was hard going with those fiddly little crimp beads ... BUT practice makes perfect ... and I intend to make some more of these ...

Finally can I just thank Steph and Lauren at Jingle Belles for featuring one of my Christmas cards this week ... I loved the postal prompt ... Thank you girls!

Have a beautiful day and thanks to you for stopping by

Brilliant work all round, Ros. Love your bracelet!
Be careful with that squirrel. Our neighbour was feeding a squirrel, then it decided to take up residence in their loft. It chewed through their facia boards and did lots of damage...just saying xx

Wonderful card, Ros, and your bracelet is lovely! I know you love watching your visitor and as for the mice and the cat, that is what cats do, and I really don't like mice. They were in the attic chewing on wires before we got rid of them. It is another beautiful day here, I am going to enjoy it! Have a good evening.

Whoa Ros, that bracelet looks gorgeous, I honestly thought it was bought, love the outcome of your DIY work here. The card for your friend's husband is very masculine, I can totally see why Jak liked your card so much!

Bet Jak's hubby will love this. It's a great guy card. I really like your bracelet. I've made paper beads before but never into jewelry. It's beautiful and the colors make it very versatile for lots of outfits. Hugs!

Your story about your kitty warmed my heart. It reminded me of my cat that had passed away last year. She would always bring in lizards. We would always get them away from her and put them safely outside. I sure do miss her.

What a great card.. I know she is going to love it.

Hugs~

What a wonderful masculine card, I always struggle with men's cards. I love your bracelet, my girls had a set to make these bracelets, I think I had more fun playing with it than they did, lol. Deb x

With that card Ros, you really rose to the challenge...brilliant job. It is so much more difficult doing commissions.
I love your paper beads too. I love making them...please do some more!
