Indian Summer

Hello!

Well, the school term has started back in the UK and now we're enjoying an Indian summer ...
It also means that Thursday Club resumes tonight ...
For those of you who don't know what this is, it's a weekly club where mentally and physically challenged adults meet to socialise, play games, craft or just to relax in the bistro...
I run the craft class and it's always a challenge for me to come up with ideas and prepare them in a way my group of approx. 20 people can assemble. Fortunately my lovely friend Pat has been a blessing and is a terrific help.

So, this week we are making pretty boxes which they can decorate once they are assembled and fill them with treasures or sweets, or whatever they want ...
This is a sample of what they will be like

The pretty paper is a digital from Pink Petticoat - everything is first cut out in thick card and then my group can just stick the ready cut papers on and assemble the box ... with a little help of course

I put a rose scented candle in this one

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone at club tonight ... It may be hard work preparing everything but the result is so worthwhile when you see how happy it makes them.

I hope you are enjoying your day ...

Till soon

~ Ros ~

What a sweet project your club will return to tonight! I am sure it will be exciting to hear what each member will think to fill the treasure boxes with. You are such a sweet gal Ros. Your projects for the club are always so thoughtful.

What an amazing project! They must have loved it! I was thinking about your club a number of times over the past weeks as a friend's son was just recently born with Down Syndrome. I hope there will be a club around as this one!

What a wonderful gift you give your club members. I am so impressed at the gorgeous projects you come up with for the members, it could so easily be cheesy craft projects, but yours are so useful and beautiful, I can just imagine how their faces light up at their finished projects.
