Embossed Glue

Hi there!
How are you? Good I hope...

The other day I saw a tutorial Here for heat embossing hot glue which I thought was so clever and I had to give it a go, so I pulled out a scrap piece of paper and here's the result

I just made random shapes with the glue gun, I think I'll need some more practice but it was fun trying it out

I think it has an oriental look ... what do you think?

I had a great day in Lincoln yesterday with my sweet Aunt and my brother ... My Aunt looked so well and nowhere near her 88 years!
My brother did the driving and coming home was hard going as the motorways were so busy ... I really hate that 3 hour journey but it would take me 4 trains to get there and then a bus from the train station. You'd think there would be a direct route given that Lincoln is a huge university city ... Maybe one day ...

I'm preparing for my special needs group tonight ... I've 24 exploding boxes ready for them to assemble for their Mother's Day projects ... It's going to be a hectic night!

Have a lovely day and I'll be back soon

Such a pretty card Ros! Love the shimmery silver texture! I agree with you, it does look like letters or symbols from the Japanese alphabet!

That does look amazing... and oriental, too. Like Chinese script or something. Sometimes I just can't believe what people try out! Have fun with the Thursday group!

I like that scribbly effect... sort of like a technique Donna Downey teaches using acrylic paint and airbrush medium. It's always fun to try something new, especially when the results are as good as yours. Beautiful card, Ros!!!
Hope all goes well with your group tonight. I can't imagine putting together that many projects.

Yes it has an oriental look but the effect you created with glue also made me think og modern art. It's a gem; I love the color palette and lots of white on this card too!

Hope your class went well. :-) I'm glad to hear that your aunt had a good birthday. I'm sure it was nice for you to have your brother with your for the visit. This is really a cool technique. Those globs of glue sure do shine. Fun and unique. Hugs!

So glad you had that time with your dear aunt--never know how many chances there will be--for any of us. I remember foiling over hot glue, but never tried embossing. I thought oriental as soon as I saw your card--came out really neat, Ros!

Beautiful Ros! I use this technique to make faux wax seals, I never thought to use it like this...love it! Gorgeous colours too!

Regarding the smooshing, I use that technique a lot, and I have never had the beautiful results that you get! You are the master! hugs :)

Fabulous card Ros and I agree that the glue shapes look like Chinese characters.
Happy to hear that you met with your aunt and had a more direct route!

What a great technique and you have showcased it so well. I feel the same about the route from Sheffield to Norfolk!
