All Or Nothing Day

Hello again ...
If you are looking for my post for Our Beautiful World - please scroll down

This post is dedicated to

All or Nothing Day

I was contacted recently by a lady called Heather Von St James - A 10 year survivor of
I had never heard of All or Nothing Day nor of Mesothelioma either in case you are wondering

Mesothelioma is a rare form of lung cancer whereby a person has at some time in their life come into contact with asbestos ... It could be years before symptoms develop as Heather was to discover shortly after the birth of her daughter ... A time when life should have been beautiful

She was exposed to asbestos as a little girl while wearing her father's work jacket that was covered in the deadly fibers.  Shortly after her diagnosis, she underwent a treatment that involved the removal of her left lung, changing her life forever.

Asbestos is still widely used in the United States, and Mesothelioma is only caused by asbestos exposure.  It affects the lining of the organs, most commonly, the lungs.  Click here to find out more about this disease and to read Heather's amazing story.

All or Nothing Day is to raise awareness of the disease and just as importantly Hope... It is about living every day to the fullest...

Heather asked me to mention how I live each day to the fullest ... But do I? Do any of us as we get caught up in daily life?
I know only too well how life can change in a matter of moments ... I was only 12 when I first learned the harsh reality... A school friend died in a house fire... One day we were chatting and the next day she was gone... 8 years late I lost my beloved Dad suddenly without warning... And so it went... My Mum my nephew and cousins - all without warning... all in different circumstances

If only for today be aware of how precious life is on this beautiful planet of ours... Keep hope in your heart and cherish every moment....

Life can be All or Nothing

This is so beautiful Ros. Unfortunately we see a lot of mesothelioma deaths in this area because asbestos was used a lot in the shipyards here. Thanks for the reminder of how important each day really is. Have a blessed day!

Thanks for drawing my attention to Mesothelioma - I had never heard of it before. And that's a beautiful card for a good cause!

Your post brought tears to my eyes, Ros--beautifully spoken. The father of one of my best friends in high school died of Mesothelioma--horrible disease. Your card is one of the most beautiful I've ever seen--love the color combo & your gold stenciled background is stunning, my friend!

Oh Ros - sending a big hug after reading this moving post. Asbestos is a problem here in Australia too - All or Nothing Day/Cherish every moment etc are all too true and relevant to us in some many ways...life flies by and we should live to make the most of every day. A lovely card to celebrate these thoughts.
