City Crafter 272

Good morning everyone

Today starts a new challenge at

This week's challenge has been set by Samra Sadly this is Samra's last week on the DT and we will miss her unique style
Our very best wishes to you Samra!

The challenge this week is to make a Masculine Birthday Card

Here's my card

One of my brother's repairs motorcycles so this will be great for his upcoming birthday
I started by smooshing some distress inks onto watercolour CS, stamped over it and after adding a few black sequins I created a frame with an acetate front

The motorcycle is a sticker I've had for a long time and putting it on top of the acetate meant I didn't lose any of the cut out detail

Our Guest Designer this week is Dana winner of week 267 .. . Do go visit her blog and leave some love and check out what the rest of the DT have created at

We hope you'll join us this week!

Have a great day and be safe

Terrific card Ros! I love how you layered the motorcycle on the acetate, creating so much depth and kept the details of the sticker. I always seem challenged in finding motorcycle images, this one is a gem!

Great card... masculine ones are always soooo hard but you make it look as if making it has been a piece of cake!

That would be one perfect card for your brother!

Yes, I think you made a great decision to put it on acetate to keep the detail, and I love the grid stamp background. But most of all I love the sentiment - I know a few men who've become bikers in middle-age and think this sentiment captures some of the attraction and excitement of speed.

Your use of the smooshing technique reminds me of the shaker card I made when I was with you... And it's a technique that I love. The color you used for the background is a fab choice. It adds contrast to the black motorcycle... Wow! This card is vibrant and stunning; your brother will love it!
