Another Christmas Card and A Rant

Hello there ...

I'm feeling pretty rough today, like I'm coming down with something... sigh
I did manage to make a couple more cards using my sponged backgrounds - here's one

Is it just me or does anyone else get exasperated with all the new releases? I mean much as I love them I would prefer that companies didn't release so much every month ... Maybe just a couple of stamps sets, dies etc.,

You'd have to be pretty well off to buy everything so if you finally decided on the ones you want and can affordby time you get them and find time to create something, the next release is only weeks away... And just how do you pick just a couple of things???
Haven't we all got stamps and dies that have either never been used or hardly used?

So I'm still using stuff from way back when ... mixing and matching and changing up the designs... Like this Memory Box Deer Trio die but only using one of them ... He looks like he's blending into the background but IRL the card is quite dimensional.

Ok, rant over... I need a lie down Lol!

Thanks for stopping by ...

Hugs

~ Ros ~

if this is what you consider a "Rant" - you are WELCOME to let fly any time at all.

AND - your work is awesome . . .
And - IF you had every wonderful product you noticed . . those companies should Pay YOU -
because - you sure know what to do with them.

I hear ya sista! It seems like last month's stamp set is passe in the next month's stamp challenges. You've got to be true to you! Meanwhile, your card is wonderful! I love that brilliant night sky, those sparkly hills, and those wonderful trees with your great deer!

This is absolutely gorgeous Ros - I love the colours of your background, the whole scene looks magical. As for the too- frequent releases - be steadfast and refuse to buy their stamps! Actually , what I find more difficult is that the more I want a stamp set, the more it's likely to be unavailable (or constantly 'out of stock') in the UK.

I hope you're feeling better now.

Hope you're feeling better, Ros. Have to say, there is an overwhelming number of companies & releases now! I'm actually glad I don't have a walk-in stamp store anymore as I'm much less tempted when I can't just walk out with an item. I've been enjoying using what I have & try to add items that are not in my collection like more word dies rather than the latest new flower. I do love wreaths, so it's hard not to order all the new ones out right now, but so far so good--only purchased one! No more unless I win a gift certificate! I love your card! The old products are wonderful--why you got them in the first place I bet!

Yep with you on this one...The thing I sometimes do is get carried away with the hype and the gorgeous, beautiful inspiration clever crafters do with the new stamps etc and then just 'Got' to have it. When I get it, because it's been so heavily used on the blogs etc I tend then not to use it as I'm not clever enough to do an original idea that hasn't been done! Like has been said I really must use the stash I've already got x Your card today is gorgeous and beautiful as always. Love the layering effect and the black stag is majestic and stands proud in the foreground. Beautiful blending as always... always in awe of it! Thanks for sharing x

I think you may have said what many of us feel about all of the releases, Ros. This time of the year is especially busy with full releases and the choices from all of the companies can be overwhelming.
I do LOVE this scene on your card, beautiful colours and depth!
I hope that you are feeling alright and have not come down with anything!
Thinking of you and sending hugs!

Gorgeous card Ros!! Love those cute, cute trees in the background. Yep, there is so much out there to choose from...I have a lot of old, but I use it when and where I can.....but to me it is like an old friend ...glad to have it old or not!!
I would not be able to purchase as much as I have lately without my benefits from the DT duties, but I work hard to get those benefits, and I am so slow!!

I do think the new things keep me motivated though, and every single time I buy a die, I think, you could cut that on your Cricut..so why don't I??

Anywho, I hope you feel better soon and I absolutely love your work, you have such a talent of putting things together...and we all need a little ranting now and then..good for the soul!!!

I hope you have a great day..it is cold here , sprinkling rain and we are to have a freeze tonight...let the nasty weather begin...LOL!!

Hope you feel better soon, Ros! Your card is gorgeous with the background and lovely scene! I know what you mean regarding all the new products out there. I've slowed way down on my buying. I know that I have bought things and haven't used them yet. There just aren't enough hours in the day to create with everything...lol! What you use and what you create is absolutely perfect, Ros...no worries! Have a great weekend!:-)

Such s pretty card Ros! Love the beautiful scene that you created! Another stunner! Although I go understand the need for companies to constantly release new products to stay competitive in such a fast paced industry I personally don't get caught up with the feelings of wanting it all.

I hope you feel better soon Ros! I am so tired myself, having sleepless night the past few nights and then gotta get up early for work today, and then I took a nap from 2 to 7, now I am going to stay awake all night, what a bad cycle. sigh.....

I am loving your winter card, such pretty colors with glittery paper, and the blue is really lovely too!

I so hear you on that, especially now I am buying from both PTI and MFT, what I do is that I would tell myself I can only pick ONE every month, so I don't get from MFT until I see the PTI release a few days later after the MFT release, tough! LOL! A lot of time I am thinking too, do I really need those new release? Oh well, that is kind of the way I spoilt myself as I do not buy a lot of clothing, shoes and handbags : )

Hope you are feeling better, Ros, nothing worse than not feeling good! I agree, but unfortunately it is the sign of the times. Everyone is trying to get business and do so with a vigorous pace to outdo the competition! Unless you are wealthy one can not afford to buy all that there is and even then one would never be able to use all of it, such a waste! Not like when we were children and we were lucky if there was that one special doll for Christmas! Have a wonderful Sunday!

I am with you. All the brands are overflowing the craft market with so many items for each release. I would be bankrupt if I bought everything I want.
And I also want to save money for my trip next year:)
But I did buy new Christmas items but mix them up with what I already have.
I am happy with the supplies I have. And just like you I mix them and change the design and colors.

You are always welcome to rant:)

Your card is brillaint. I love the deer and the dimensional look of this card. I have those border dies too so I got the picture how it looks IRL.

Sweetie I hope you feel a bit better; take care...
Sending a bbig hug and love,
XXXXX

I love that background and I agree with your rant. Too much to choose from and too little time to put it all to use. But what a great way to use that deer all by itself. Love it.

Wow, what a cascade of elaborate commenets - you obviously hit a nerve there! I don't have the time to really get into all those dies and stamps etc. but I get your point... what it all comes down to for each and everyone: there's never enough time to craft!! And before I forget: gorgeous card!!

I am really cutting back on what I buy and really try to use what I have. I agree, it is a bit overwhelming to say the least. I think you would be better off saving your money for a trip to Florida! Wink! I LOVE this card and can tell it must really be dimensional IRL! LOVE your sponged BG!

Such a beautiful, little scene, Ros! Love those glittery hills! And I couldn't agree more about all these releases. It's overwhelming, and everyone gets you so hard for shipping. I get discouraged with the size of the total bill and end up not ordering at all. Hope you get to feeling better! I'm still struggling along, too.

LOL I get kind of overwhelmed with the releases too Ros. I try not to buy anything I'm not sure will get used a LOT. It can be frustrating with all the cute stuff out there, but like you said, you buy it and the next fad comes along. sigh...I wouldn't worry if I were you. Your cards are always delightful just like this one. :-)
