Twofer Challenge

Good Morning!

I have some cards to share today for the new challenge blog Twofer Cards Challenge

This months theme is Feathers

Now when I said I had a lovely birthday a few days ago, well, I did...But late in the evening we got a call to tell us that Ian's cousin Joyce, who we often stayed with in Cornwall, had passed away ... She was a very special lady and always reminded me of my dear Aunt so this really how these cards came about.
First up is a sympathy card

A simple ink blended and water splattered heart with a bird stamp which I also clear embossed

My Twofer card is a birthday card using the same stamp

Again I cut a stencil from my dies and ink blended the BG but this time with balloons

Here they are together

I actually made 3 sympathy cards as Joyce had 3 grown up children - They were all done using the same stamp

You can see that I didn't wipe the ink blended heart enough and some Embossing powder stuck where is shouldn't have - On the photo it doesn't look good, but IRL it adds a pretty glisten to the heart so I didn't mind

And this is the third one

Unfortunately we wont be able to attend the funeral but at least they'll know we're thinking of them

Well that's it for awhile... Take care whilst I'm gone, I hope to be able to visit you very soon

Hugs

Ros, Happy belated birthday! All your cards are beautiful. Love your 'twofer' cards, its interesting what we can do with the same stamp! Gorgeous blue tones on the heart. Fabulous cards, thinking of you during your surgery. Hope to see you back here soon. Take care,

Very different cards but oh, so beautiful. It amazes me how many ideas can come from one stamp set. You sure did a great job.

So sorry to hear about your cousin. I know her family will be comforted by your caring and beautiful cards. You've created two wonderful cards; those birds stand out against each background you've made. The heart is perfect for your sympathy card, and the balloons are delightful for your birthday card. Love the gold embossed sentiment, and the sparkly balloon, too. Thank you so much for joining us at the Twofer Challenge! Bev

Absolutely beautiful, Ros. I'm sorry for the sudden sad news. You quickly made such lovely cards for the family. I seem to freeze when time is short. Again, you have some of the best silhouette stamps. Interesting how these birds are so quiet and serene on a sympathy card, yet they look like a party on your birthday card. Well done!

I'm so sorry to hear about Ian's cousin. All three of your sympathy cards are beautiful and will be loved by her children. The ink blended heart as a background for your birds is so poignant. Your birthday card, on the other hand, is festive with those bright, blended balloons! I'll be praying for your surgery tomorrow! Thanks for joining in on the fun over at Twofer Card Challenge!

I'm so sorry for your loss - this year is not starting out all that well... But it's amazing to see how with the same stamp you can create two such completely different cards... both, or rather all four of them, are really beautiful and the left-over embossing powder adds to that one card even on the picture, I think. Good luck for tomorrow!

Hello, Ros, I am so happy to visit your blog but sorry about your loss.
Your cards created with the silhouette stamp are just gorgeous! The ink blended heart and balloons of your twofer cards are so creative! I love the different looks you got using not only the same stamp but the same colors.
Your sympathy cards are beautifully blended and so elegant with the gold embossing.

I'm so sorry to hear about Ian's cousin, Joyce. My sympathies to both of you. You have made really serene and breathtaking cards for her family which I'm sure they will treasure. Each one is blended so beautifully and I love both the silhouette images and the embossed images! All your different framing styles are fantastic, too, Ros, and each one I'm pinning!

The blended balloon birthday card is gorgeous, too! Thank you so much for playing in my new Twofer challenge!

With my cataract surgery and challenge, I'm behind on visits so I haven't heard if your surgery was rescheduled, but it sounds like it has been. I wish you all the best and hope it doesn't get postponed again. I will keep you in my prayers!! Hugs, Darnell
