Happy Monday

Hello friends...
I'm back from our break in a wet and very windy Majorca...In all the years I have been visiting there, I have never seen waves so high on the beautiful turquoise sea. Being used to rain it didn't stop us getting out and about and we did a lot of walking. We went to the lovely Andraxt market which is usually bustling, but as expected, a lot of the stall holders had given up. From there we took a bus to Palma and walked around the city sheltering every now and then from the hailstones and rain, the normal street cafes abandoned as thunder boomed above. Then it was on to Santa Ponsa and back to the hotel.
Each day was much the same and once or twice the sun peeked out, lovely warm rays, but the wind was prevalent. I never got to feel the sand between my toes or the sea wash over me but I did enjoy the lovely meals served in the hotel and snuggling down with a good book. I did have a fall one evening but I was more shaken than injured - As my consultant said, I have very tough bones Lol!

Some weeks ago I bought a few alcohol inks and couldn't wait to give them a go but I just left the pieces I did till I had some inspiration as to what to do with them. Today I pulled out some dies and used one of my pieces for this card

 It's for my friend's birthday

Over the weeks I've also added a few new dies to my stash, the corner die and the flower/fronds die being 2 of them

I like that the flower die can be used upside down as I have done here so it looks like it's trailing over a trellis

Well, the cupboards are bare so I have to go grocery shopping ... I'll wish you all a lovely day and catch up with you soon

Oh goodness! What a stunner! The trellis with the hanging vine paired with the butterfly is so pretty. I have LOTS of alcohol inks...at least I think I do. LOL They may be dried up by now they're so old. Might have to drag them out for a play. Really lovely Ros. Glad you were able to make lemonade out of your lemon vacation. :-)

Beautiful, beautiful card Ros!! I love playing with Al inks and really love how you added the gold through the center of the butterfly...what an elegant touch!! And glad to hear that you had a good vacation despite the rain...it's always good to get away for awhile! And also glad to hear your fall wasn't too serious and that you have "tough" bones!! :0)

Love what you have done with those alcohol pieces Ros. What wonderful colours and that leaf/flower die looks great trailing down, what a fabulous idea to use it that way. The corner die sets off the trailing leaf beautifully and the butterfly is gorgeous. One special card Ros. Sorry to hear about the weather whilst you where away but I bet you are so proud of yourself doing all that walking after your back operation? Well done you x

Absolutely gorgeous, Ros! I never know what to do with corner dies like that & the trailing vine look using the floral upside down is just fabulous! Sorry the weather didn't cooperate, but glad you enjoyed yourselves & are home safe & sound! No more falls--I'm preaching to you & me--haha!

Very pretty card and great use of the alcohol inks. So sorry you didn't have more warmth and sunshine but sounds as though you had a good time and made the best of it! When April is so up and down here it sure makes for a very short Spring. My daffodils are hanging their poor heads in a snow/rain mix today, I feel like hanging my head with them! Another day of this mess tomorrow and then a few better days ahead. I need to pick up my new glasses but don't have the energy to go out in this 'stuff'!! Glad you had a good time and WOW a fall, you had better be careful, would be terrible to be laid up with summer so close!!! Hugs!!

I thought you would make a fantastic alcohol ink card when I heard that you got some AIs, and you did! The shades of blue and green look gorgeous against the white background panel. I especially love that you layered the flower die-cut over the corner die, making a very elegant flow. Hideko xx

Hi, Ros! Stopped by yesterday, but my internet was spotty. Cable is supposed to be so wonderful. Right. I'm sorry you didn't have better weather for your trip, but it sounds like you made lemonade from lemons. It must have been nice to just get away for a while. Your card, sigh... Beautiful new dies. You sure know how to pick 'em! Love the pretty corner with the foliage trailing down, and the alcohol ink background -- ack! Stunning, and exquisite simplicity!
