A Little Hello

Good morning lovely people...
The sun has left us and temperatures are cool today .. Good weather for the part of garden to be cleared and landscaped... Well, that was the plan,  except the guy doing it forgot he was to be here today. Hubby would normally be playing golf first thing so he's not happy that he missed it for nothing Lol!
May hasn't exactly started well but I'm optimistic...

In my last post I shared a card with butterflies cut from a a left over piece of a watercolour BG I did... Today I'm sharing the card I used the watercolour piece for

Using a few new dies...

It's been hard to photograph my cards lately - to capture the colours, especially when there is a shine to them

Now many of you have emailed me asking me where my dies are from... Over the years I've collected many from the big name companies and still buy my stamps from them but with postage costs always on the rise it's becoming far too expensive to keep up. I still keep an eye out for sale goods and often pick up a bargain but the majority of my dies now come from Aliexpress... Not wishing to offend the any of the companies out there but Aliexpress offer amazing dies at a fraction of the cost and with free postage. It means I can have a good selection without breaking the bank... Sometimes I look at dies that have cost me over £20 and never get used more than once.. That's crazy right? So there you have it...

I hope you have a beautiful day

Lovely, lovely card Ros!! Your background is SOOOO pretty and I just love the die you used...that little birdhouse in the tree totally makes me smile!! I use Aliexpress quite a bit too...am totally blown away by how expensive dies are that come from some of the big name companies and I just can't justify it either! Hope the weather brightens up for you soon...it's been so pretty here in Michigan!! :0)

Free shipping & beautiful dies?!--what a deal! You're so right about shipping costs plus the price of many dies is outrageous, in my opinion. This tree die is wonderful & I LOVE the background, Ros! Frustrating how unreliable people/companies are these days. It's a bit cooler, which Fritz & I like--lots of sun in the next few days. Thinking of you & sending big hugs, Greta

I LOVE your new die and the sheen on the background is beautiful! If you only partially captured it in the photo, it must be glorious when seen in real life. Pretty colors, and you came up with a good design for the die. That's something I have a hard time with. I understand about the cost of dies on your side of the pond. Even in Canada they're cost prohibitive. It's unfortunate, but a genuine problem for crafters.

Thanks for the information about where you get your dies Ros. It's not as if we haven't spent a small fortune buying from the big companies and as you say the P&P charges, vat, handling charges etc are so very expensive. Beautiful card today Ros with the prettiest of colours in that background. The die cut is so pretty and love how you have done the sentiment x

You are so right about the cost of dies, which is expensive. I forget about using so many of them. It’s like Christmas when I come across some I’ve forgotten about, lol! Anyways, your card is just lovely with the colorful background! Such a pretty die, too! Have a great weekend, hugs!

I love the beautiful mix of colours on this lovely card. I looked up Aliexpress but could only find a US site. I bought some stamps from the US once and got absolutely hammered with customs charges - never again.

Such a cheery card. I really like the simple shape of the tree and the sentiment. Nice contrast with the delicate design of the tree center.

What a wonderful card! Love the gold shimmer... I'm just not so sure it's wonderful you mentioned where you get your supplies from - I may end up ordering tons and tons while I still don't get to actually do any crafting!
