A Birthday and a Thank You

Hello!

I'm just popping in with a couple of cards... First a birthday card for male friend who will be 81 in a few days

I used the 2 inks that were out on my desk, Cracked Pistachio and  Faded Jeans to make the BG

Along with some glitter foam and a couple of stamps

These cards are so quick and easy to make and lets face it, cards for men are never easy to come up with - I think they're just pleased that you remembered and took the trouble.

I also made a quick card from some of my bits to send to my husbands brother and SIL... They gave us a voucher for afternoon tea at a local place...

I can't say that either of us enjoyed it and it was very overpriced but the thought was lovely.

I'll be enclosing this of photo of hubby in their card...

I'm so happy that the temperatures have dropped a little here. It's lovely and sunny but not so oppressive and there is a breeze.

Well, Pat will be coming for lunch and to play in the craftroom for the rest of the afternoon so I'll love you and leave you

Have a great day!

Beautiful cards, both in those gorgeous colors you use!! I must say it may be overpriced but it certainly looks yummy, it is making me hungry lol!! Yes, weather here is slightly cooler but still hot and we need rain (can't believe I am saying that with all the rainy days we had, but with the heat it dries up quickly)!! Gosh, I am jealous of yours and Pat's get together...wish I could join, I will be spending my afternoon cleaning the living room. Have fun!!

I know you & Pat had fun--so jealous! Your cards are totally wonderful, Ros! What a gorgeous color of glitter fun foam & wonderfully designed card! The ferns are stunning & another fabulous design! Too bad you didn't enjoy your outing, but sure got a cute picture of your hubby! Glad to hear you've cooled down. We're joining the heatwave, but hopefully not for too many days. Giving me a good excuse to craft--haha!

Here you have two cards that are absolute perfection. Yes, cards for men are difficult, but you have a great idea for this one. The galaxy background is out of this world! You've got me thinking I need to sit down and CASE your fern card over and over again because it is not only perfect for many different occasions, but it, too, would make a good masculine card. Thanks for the ideas! It was nice of you to include the pic of your hubby in the card and here for us. I love seeing these little bits of life from the people I visit. Have a good rest of the week, Ros!

You manage to get such beautiful backgrounds when you use those colors. I love both cards. Are you using distress inks of oxide inks? The glitter paper is so pretty with the background and I agree with Leslie several of the fern cards for different occasions would be a great addition to my stash.

Very lovely cards, Ros! Love the blue/green background and sparkly sentiment! The recipient will surely smile when seeing the awesome card! Pretty fern card, too! Great photo of your husband with yummy food in front of him! And, happy to hear that things cooled down a bit. Perfect weather here right now, but things will heat up again for the weekend. Take care!

Two gorgeous cards, Ros! Yes, those masculine cards are not so easy, but yours will be a hit. I love the stars in that wonderfully inked bg, and it goes perfectly with the glittery die cuts! Too bad the tea wasn't great, but your card sure is! So fun to see your husband too! So sorry I've been away from the blogs so much. Summer is full of activities with our two teenage girls. I know I won't have them home for many more years. I've scrolled down to see all your amazing projects that I've missed. You are so full of talent, Ros!

The galaxy background is stunning, Ros! And the glittery foam die-cut sentiment is perfect for the twinkling stars in the background. The fern card design is so unique and creative. Love the way you added the black sentiment strip. Hideko xx

Glorious cards...both of them. Loving the colour combinations, which you always do so marvellously well. Great masculine card and love the bit of bling with the die cut sentiment and star x. Great how you offset the die cut leaf on your second fabulous card. Thank you for sharing the photo of DH with his over priced tea ...LOL x

Both cards are fabulous, but your galaxy card is amazing. I'm sure your friend will love this. I'm partial to the second card, lovely colours, your design is very unique. Both are great masculine cards which I find very hard to do!

Oh cool! I have that die. The way you used it looks amazing. Sorry you didn't enjoy the tea. The stuff on the top and middle of the tiered stand looks yummy.

LOVE the constellations on the first card and how you designed the second card with the die cut along side the blank. Genius! And hubby looks so content!

Yum the cake stand looks lovely - shame you didn't enjoy it. These are two beautiful cards - the way you blend colours is inspirational.

What a shame you didn't enjoy the tea - it sure does look lovely... or maybe that's because the hubby is in the picture? Anyhow, your cards are both real winners. That glittery SMILE on the first one is a great eyecatcher!
