Birthday Boy

Hello everyone...

Happy Valentine's Day!!

What a hectic time we're having here...It was DH's 75th Birthday on Tuesday  (Heck I can't believe my hubby is 75!)
On the same day his best friend was rushed into hospital, then my brother took ill. Just to make matters worse hubby's doctor asked to see him as he thinks he may have something called MGUS... No, I'd never heard of it either - It's to do with his blood but it will be awhile before we get to know as the NHS is in dire straights here so appointments are few and far between....
Lots of other not so good things also happened but somehow we still managed to celebrate DH's birthday after I convinced him that no one was going to die. He's very much a panicker.
Anyway I thought I'd share a card I made for hubby together with an exploding box

Quite a simple card really... But I was all out of inspiration
Here's the little box I put together

... With one floppy balloon that refuses to stand up Lol!

At least the cake looks good! Except it's a fake cake haha! Hubby is not much of a cake eater - He prefers pastries and pies

We've no plans for today and I'm hoping things settle down, I could do with a peaceful day...
I hope yours is peaceful too filled with love

Wow, I love both the card and the box... though I'd prefer mine to be filled with real cake! Sorry to hear you've had so much to worry about these days - I hope it will all come to a good end.

What a great idea to make an exploding box to put the piece of cake in Ros, and if that isn't edible it certainly looks as though it is, and what a wonderful birthday card too for your DH, and in beautiful blue tones and love the stars and constellations, and with the cut out numbers and the complementary sentiments this is a fabulous card. I'm so sorry that there are health issues for a friend and your brother affecting you at the moment and hope they are get resolved soon, and likewise for your DH. x

Happy 75th to your husband! Such a fantastic card and exploding box! I have to try one of those boxes now! You got me, I thought that was a real cake. I hope things have settled down a bit, and that this new diagnosis can be managed quickly for your husband.

I hope you get to find out about hubby condition soon :(. The NHS seems to be getting worse and worse. I worked Radiation Therapy in Wales and London just over 30yrs ago and it wasn't great then.
Wonderful cake box even if the cake is fake and love the card:)

Such a pretty glittery 75th birthday card for your DH..Ros. Your explosion box with what looks like carrot cake is so fun and creative. Hopefully both projects made your DH feel loved and special!

Sorry about all your unhappy news. Hopefully your husband gets to see a doctor soon about his blood disorder. Sending healing thoughts. Hugs..Nancy

A big Happy 75th Birthday to your husband! Love the fun exploding cake box and birthday card! My husband is the same in that he prefers a pie over cake. I hope things go well with your husband’s condition. Sorry to hear that things have been stressful for you lately. I hope things improve very soon for your husband, his friend, and your brother. Take good care, hugs!!

Happy 75th to your hubby! I'm a little behind. Things going on here, too, but nothing distressing like yours. I'm so sorry to hear of it all and hoping everything turns out okay. LOVE your card and the box! He doesn't like cake? I'm so bad... there are too few sweets I don't like, and I can't imagine not liking cake. The fake cake is cute, though!

I thought of your hubby, my BD twin, but didn't realize this was a big BD for him. I realized recently that none of my BDs really seem big since hubby has already been there--haha (a yr behind your hubby.) So sorry you've had all these stresses. Your card for him doesn't look simple to me, but it sure is perfect! Love how you did the numbers & what a great sentiment! The box totally amazes me--never gonna try one of those!

Sorry I'm so late to the party, Ros, what with the Mister's back troubles. Happy Belated Birthday to Ian and I hope you were able to spend the rest of the day quietly. I send my best wishes that the poorly are better now and that Ian can get in before too long to deal with MGUS - a new one on me, too! Your birthday cake exploding box and your card are so festive and fun! I love that galaxy design of your card with the die cut numbers! You should have made a second one to play in Twofer! In fact, it's not too late! You posted this after the tenth, so you can repost it in a photo with your second design. We'd love to see you in the gallery. Hugs, Darnell
