Pretty Bird Houses

Hi there...
It's another hot day here which is great except I struggle to sleep at night so I may catch a snooze in the shade later

So today I have a couple of bird houses for you

I'm enjoy the blues and greens again and each time I paint something, I learn a little bit more, whether it's the colour blending or the angle of the brush

Of all the brushes I have collected, I tend to stick just to 2... A fine line round one and a  slightly bigger round

My sketches aren't that big so I'm using up all the odd pieces of spare cardstock I have accumulated

I've also left the painting and come back to it when it's dry so I can add more colour or perhaps something it's lacking to add balance.

Anyway I hope you like them...

Have a lovely day

Yes I do like them Ros...they are all beautiful and it is a good way of using up your small scraps to make notelets/small cards etc. Hope all good with you. xxx

It's amazing that you are doing these watercolors on cardstock! That's so tricky but you do it so well! Love your birdhouses with their lovely flowers and vines! Hope you had a nice nap in the shade.

You've perfected your very own style, Ros … love these sweet little bird houses! Perhaps you'll paint a few birds?
It's so hot here already - I don't recall starting the AC this early EVER!

Not only do I 'like' them Ros ... I LOVE them! Both are so beautiful! You are so talented! The shading is perfect! Well done my friend ... just beautiful! Hope you're staying cool! It was close to 90s all week here in Ohio, USA but luckily it's raining and the temperatures have cooled down since our A/C quit a few days ago. First night was difficult sleeping but last evening there was a nice cool breeze blowing through so not as bad. Seems everyone is having A/C problems since the company can't come to look at ours until June 12th! YIKES ... certainly going to be shorts & tank top wearing days! LOL HUGS

Okay, now wait just a minute, Ros... every time I click on here I find my new favorite card. How do you keep doing that? They can't all be favorites! These are sooooooo incredibly sweet and beautiful! I love all the details, such as the squiggly hanging tendrils. Amazing!

I don't like them--I LOVE them, Ros! Thought your cracked pots were unbeatable, but these are fabulous! The first one is my favorite with the bird house under the arbor--so professional! You are one talented lady!

Such lovely paintings... found out one of the bird houses in the garden is occupied. I just heard the wild chirping for worms and don't know yet what kind of bird has decided to make it the family home - I hope to know soon... and that Larry can't be bothered...
