Shake it Up & Covid testing

 Hello there... How are you?

Well there's been a few things happening here since I last posted but first I'll get on to the cards I'm sharing today.

The weather is cold and miserable, we are in a lock down and Christmas is coming - Time to pull out the sparkle with a few simple shaker cards

Of course it helps to use up those zillions of sequins I have and the painted pieces that work for backgrounds or to make those sequins sparkle and sentiments shine

These are both normal size cards - The die is from AliExpress and the pretty centres on the snowflakes are from a hoard of gems

The next few cards are slimline...

Which can be stood either way

So last Friday hubby and I had our Covid tests. Thankfully we tested negative and will be going for a follow up test again this week. I have always been in two minds about the testing given that there are idiots who refuse to quarantine or wear masks and lets face it I could be negative one day but positive the next. However, a lot of time and effort has gone into the organization of the mass testing project and then again those young handsome guys in their Army uniforms were just too much for me to resist Lol!

Was it worth it? Yes. Each time I get a sniffle or a cough, my heart races with the what if? Was it uncomfortable? Only for 10 seconds and the scheme has been extended so we can go as many times as we wish but the main thing is that the R rate has come down and hundreds of asymptomatic people have been diagnosed.

We had to break the rule a little yesterday as my brother needed to come over but he took the test here so we all knew we were clear. Another distressing family issue has rocked our otherwise quiet life and I'm grateful we have each other for support. We'll get through as we always do...

Stay safe and well and thanks so much for your visit

Till soon

~ Ros ~

Beautiful die cut snowflake shaker cards, Ros. You have a knack for picking out the best dies. I really like this one. The backgrounds, sequins, and painted pieces are so pretty with it. Good news about your COVID tests as you are in lockdown and will be avoiding exposure for a while. There is no free testing where I live. However, it's easy to get the test if you feel you need it. I'm sorry to hear you're having a distressing family issue. You've had plenty enough in the last year or so. I hope everything works out okay. Sending hugs.

The perfect touch of sparkle and shine in your shaker cards cards Ros. that's such a beautiful die cut :)

Ros, hopefully with some of the vaccines almost ready for use perhaps we only have another 3-4 months of this life and things will get easier. Distribution will take a while but we've gotten this far. The test can give you piece of mind if you have symptoms so always worth the inconvenience of the 10 secs of nasal irritation. We have a gargle and spit available in Vancouver Canada, it was originally for kids but most adults want it :)

Fantastic shaker cards, Ros! Love that snowflake die and what a great way to use up some sequins! I'm glad you've tested negative and sorry to hear of family issues. Being able to lean on each other means so much.

You may not know this about me, Ros, but I don't count blue among my favorite colors - you know me and grey have a love affair, right?
But you've changed my mind today - these are so absolutely extraordinarily gorgeous, I've a mind to get my paints out! Fabulous die - love the shapes of those windows - and this last one with the stream of hearts!
So glad you had a negative test - I'm tucking in for the Winter - seems I always do!

GORGEOUS! Your cards ALWAYS inspire me and today's cards are absolutely fabulous! LOVE the colors and all the sparkle! I truly struggle with shaker cards (don't know why ... never turn out well) but you've inspired me to try again.
WOW so glad you are able to be tested and got the negative result. Things here in America are still crazy ... but they say there's a vaccine ready to be administered mid December ... at least to our health care workers and first responders. So far so good with my family and we are doing what we can to stay safe. Unfortunately no Thanksgiving gathering this year but that's okay ... we want to stay alive for all the future gathers to come in our future.
Sorry for your latest family issue and will pray that it is resulted quickly & easily. Happy Thanksgiving to you my friend! BIG CYBER HUGS and thanks again for always make me smile with your creativity. I love clicking on the images and looking at all the details (learn something every time! lol).

I like how you say 'simple shaker' - I don't find any shakers simple and these look amazing. The painted pieces give an extra layer of complexity.
I've seen the mass testing on the news, so interesting that you're part of that. Actually, I've always wondered who the people are who do the ONS Household Survey tests (I think it's how they judge the R rate)..then I found out that one of my brothers does it and gets a £20 voucher for every Covid test he takes!

Sorry you have an issue to deal with--just what you needed! No testing program like in the UK, but I also don't quite get the point. Neg one day & positive the next has happened so many times with athletes & politicians who do get tested. We're just staying isolated. I love these cards, Ros! Can't imagine making so many shakers!

Such lovely cards, real beauties!
Good to know that you tested negative and that the whole mass testing undertaking yielded results and turned out to be worth the effort. Sorry to hear that you are facing some issues in the family... fingers crossed that they can come to a good end?
