Sketch & Paint

Hello there, I hope you are all doing well.

I'm thankfully lot more mobile than I was last week but maybe someone can tell me how it's possible to have a caught a cold when I haven't ventured out in weeks, if anything gets delivered like post or groceries, I wash my hands and sanitize each time... How is that possible? Another of life's mysteries.

I've a few more cards to share, though I feel more like hibernating than crafting lately, I'm longing for Spring. First up is a card for a blog friend who has been struggling with health issues and I'm hoping this will cheer her up a little

I like sketching these birds and dressing them, we have various ones visiting daily and I could watch them for hours

It's been so cold and we've see a few frosty mornings - Thankfully my next little bird was prepared for the ice...

...with her little skates

And my last card
One of the gifts I got for Christmas was a set of Cosmic Shimmer watercolour paints so I gave them a try  using my new Acquarello watercolour extra white 100% cotton by Fabriano.

Whilst the paint flows beautifully on this, the shimmer is not that evident when it dries..

And as you can see it's still not really 'white' but I still like it.

Before I go I just want to say a big thank you for all the birthday cards I've received... I haven't opened any yet, I'm keeping them until tomorrow.

Stay safe and well and thank you for visiting me today

Till next time

~ Ros ~

Fantastic cards Ros - your sniffles have not stopped your wonderful creativity.
I smiled when I saw the robins and their footwear - we had several inches of snow up until today and I said that the birds needed wellies to keep their feet warm in the snow and a pair of ice skates for the bird bath! x

The first two cards are such fun Ros and the first one will surely uplift the recipient. Loving the composition of the third one and thanks for the information about the watercolour card x.
Many happy returns for tomorrow and I hope you enjoy your day and so glad that you are on the road to recovery from your fall x. Catching a cold is a mystery to me too Ros x.

Ah, I could look at your birds all day! They're such adorable little characters. I also love the collage look and colors of your third card. It's fun to try different mediums. I do love my Fabriano Extra White hot press watercolor paper. It's not as white as I'd expected, but looks nicely white against other colors. It's about the same color as SU Whisper White. I hope you continue to feel better, Ros. Rich and I both caught a lightweight bug in November. If we could catch that bug, then how are we protecting ourselves against COVID? Seems we could catch that, too. I just hope we can make it to the light at the end of the tunnel.

I love your fun robins Ros and the first card will surely cheer your friend up and bring a smile to her face. I love the last using your new shimmery paints too and I know what you mean about trying to find a really white watercolour paper. The only one I have found up to now is Bristol Smooth which is about the same whiteness as the other card I use and it take the paint well, maybe not a s well as a more expensive watercolour paper. So pleased your are more mobile now and wishing you a very Happy Birthday and hope that you are enjoying your day. I hope your cold soon goes too. Getting a cold germ when you are at home and not near anyone with one is one of life's mysteries..lol. Take care! x

Just love your sweet birds, Ros--makes me smile! The last card is amazing--modern & beautiful! Hope you had a Happy Birthday in spite of the isolation & having a cold! That is a mystery for sure & so glad we've been spared, so far. Hubby thought he was coming down with a cold, but turned out just to be a bad allergy day. Glad your mobility is improving. Sending hugs, Greta

Ros, you cards are fabulous! Love those birds, really what's not to love about them, so whimsical, colourful and they just make me smile! And your artistic card is wonderful, wow Ros, you can create anything! You've got this! I know I've said this before, but what I truly love about your cards is all the detail you put into them, they always tell a story! Sorry for the late comment on this, I've stepped away from my computer for a couple of weeks, just for a break. I haven't even made any cards. I hope to get back at it this weekend. I also hope you are feeling much better. Take care of yourself Ros, and thanks for sharing your artwork with us, always a bright spot in my day! Hugs,

Your winter cards are fabulous. And what a cool, artsy card for your last. I see a bit of shimmer in the paints and the colours are beautiful. xx
