If like me you have played along each week with the challenges, you realise that you somehow become become a family of sorts... and friends across the miles.... I just want to say "Thank you" to City Crafters  ... for giving me this opportunity.. I am truly grateful.

The torn sand paper is from my stash and the umbrella and flip flops are from The Cutting Cafe ... can you see my little fence made from raffia?

Finally I must show you my goodies that finally arrived following my win in week 8 "Here comes the bride" at City Crafters ... This was my entry and just look at just some of the goodies I received!.....

Cherry sweet.......

Thank you so much for all your wishes.... I guess I just needed to unload a little yesterday. I am learning to leave my burdens with my God and trust that am I guided. When in times of trouble, when I have become attached to a problem and my thoughts lose clarity... I also turn to my Aunt... she is the "Wise One'' and without her I really don't know where I would be. She can always make sense of things and give me advice which in turn I can pass on if necessary..... Either way it lightens me and last night she did just that. Now I can leave things where they are and return to the moment.

A little something to share....

A card based on this sketch ............

from this weeks challenge over at 2Sketches4You......
And this colour combo .......

Some more of Kirsty's lace ... how I love this lace ... and a little glittered felt rose made from my scraps.

I wish you all a lovely weekend... Happy 4th July to all my friends... have a good one
Till soon
keep Safe....

Something pretty.......

It is so hard when those you love are struggling and you just cannot find the solutions to help..... That is the  way it is for me right now.... I so want to be able to relieve the burdens of family members and my heart aches that I can't...... The most I can do is pray for them and be there to listen ... but still it hurts.
I try to immerse myself into creating... wanting just to lock the door to my little world and make something pretty to lighten my heart a little ... but often my thoughts stray back to my loved ones, and to my own hurts... and I remind myself the teachings of practical philosophy..."when you become aware of negative emotions of any kind creeping in almost unnoticed... turn to the cool light of the present"

In the present my "something pretty" notebook is born

This for the Play Date Cafe Challenge which is based on a lovely picture courtesy of Marthastewart.com .......

There is something so soothing about that soft baby pink ... and yet a strength in the bold red ....

Sparkly tulle, glitter and chipboard ..... delicate glass button, lace and pearled butterfly..... and I am soothed.

Till soon

A "Carte Postale" for you my friends....

If you read my first post today you will have seen some of my holiday pics  - Now it's time to get myself back into crafting mode...

Sweet Linda "My Happy Place" has set the challenge this week over at City Crafters Challenge blog and it is "Shades of Green" and the very talented Anabelle O'Malley.... is the guest designer. It's a brilliant challenge ... who doesn't like green? I think God created nature in so many shades of green because he knew it was restful ... so peaceful. I particularly like the beautiful shades of Spring as the trees burst into life... so fresh. Then again I adored the muted earthy tones.. olive, sage and pistachio...
So here is my card... a "Carte Postale" just for you my friends in blogland......

Various shades here but I'm not so sure this picture picks them up very well.......

Had to use glitter... green of course

And some of my beautiful lace from Kirsty ........

As this card also has stitching on, I thought I should enter it in the Papertake Weekly Challenge - Stitching... never entered that before ... The design team have some wonderful examples... go take a peek.

Must go now - club night tonight and thankfully my dear friend has come up with a project for this week to give me a bit of a break but I still have things to organise and take along.

Hugs till soon

Ros

Home again...

Hello there, I have missed you all so much..... missed playing with my papers and glitters and glue... missed being able to check in on everyone, seeing your creations and being invited into your lives....

I didn't get chance to thank City Crafters Challenge for my Spotlight award on this challenge... I really didn't expect this as my entry was a bit of fun, but nevertheless I am very grateful and well done to all the other winners.

Ok... so as you know I have been back to my favourite hotel in Palma Majorca.. and this is the view of the bay from my balcony....... You may be able to see Palma Cathedral over to the left ... it is truly a beautiful view and at night when the lights all around the bay are lit and the cruise liners are lit... well it is just wonderful.

This is the little harbour which is a lovely walk and though you can't see them from here, there are a couple of pretty bar/restaurants down there too.

Another view of the little harbour with our hotel in the background... see ... Hotel Majorica?

And this is part of the terrace where I take my Cappuccino... with cream!

Ok... me in my favourite place.......

Yep... the pool! I am not really a sun-worshipper at all but I go very brown just from walking around and swimming.... Just can't take the heat.......
Now I don't like to have my picture taken... I am my biggest critic, and once I got to fifty... well I liked it even less... now in my late fifties I am very camera shy.. but just for you - here is one of me on the terrace with my capuccino......

So ok no zooming in!! .....  just look at those crinkly eyes .... No!.. Don't!

Oh! And I have to show you this... See, it is a fair walk down to the bus stop (Hubby won't allow me to take taxis.... but we wont go there) and this tree has always afforded me shelter from the heat as we wait for the bus... each time I go back I always say "hello tree" (mad - I know!) and as you can see, this time my lovely tree was in full bloom and so so pretty ... much better than all the other trees around, so I think she likes me talking to her.

And finally just one of my hubby too.... We won't tell him though he! he!

.......And I get home to see my beautiful son is even more brown than me! ... Been sitting in the garden and his legs are soooo brown I'm jealous!

Well, I hope to get back to you all when I have had time to get my crafting stuff out ... been a few family problems back home so I have been a bit way laid...

Till soon

Ros
