My London....

Good morning everyone!
It's Tuesday and you know what that means... City Crafters Challenge day.. Yay!!
This week's theme is London ...  you can either make something based on the city, or pick the colours red white and Blue... or use English /England Rose as your theme ...
The talented Dana Gustafson is Guest Designer this week and there is a fabulous prize up for grabs ... The DT team have given you some lovely inspiration along with this gorgeous picture from
 Happy Loves Rosie

So what are you waiting for? Get to it!

I know that London has probably millions of visitors each year and hat better way to store all those little bus tickets, entry tickets and bits and bobs for your scrapbook than an envelope....

Mine is decorated on both sides... stitching, lace, buttons, a rubon, felt heart and glittered heart together with MF stickers, ribbon and pearls.... and of course my handmade roses....... all glittered up....

The papers and images are digital.....

I have a scrapbook with pages of London that this will fit into nicely. You see though I am a Liverpool girl ... a "Scouser" ... my parents and my brothers are all Londoners. My Grandmother (who was Swiss)  and my Grandfather (French) ... were Hoteliers for most of their lives in London. I never knew my Grandfather, but as a child I spent every summer and every Christmas with my brothers and our Mom in London in my Grandmother's hotel .. in Russell Square . These were the happiest times ever! and every memory is etched on my heart ..... Even to this day my brothers and I reminisce ... each memory so clear in their minds ... for it was their "happy' place too.
I could tell so many stories of the fun my Mom had in her youth ... how I was nearly an American! She had so many American servicemen proposing to her during the war years ... I still have her photo album full of pictures from those days ... I often wonder what happened to all those guys ...

I kept up a tradition and went back each year ... though there was no longer any family in London - the Hotel still stands - and each visit warmed my heart - the woman in me longed to take a trip back in time.
I took my son when he was young and we did all the touristy things .... then one day I said farewell and chose to keep my memories in my heart ....

A special treat ...

Here ya' go... my Grandparents with my Mom and her Brother (yep, he was in the US Army... long story ... mixed up family!!) .... on the steps of the hotel obviously during war time.

Till soon

Kraft Challenge.....

So... when I first started blog following, I noticed that so many people were using Kraft card stock .... so many beautiful designs ... I saw stamping (in white... sigh,) I saw digital images printed directly on the card stock on and sometimes adhered. I saw copic coloured delights ..... Oh how I wanted to have some Kraft card stock, so pretty, so versatile ..... ..
I found the right pure white ink ... I got the stamps, images and backgrounds ... I collected the digital papers and all number of elements as well as buying lovely DP .... but I couldn't get the Kraft card stock... I tried everywhere ... even bought from the internet what was claimed to be Kraft ... but it wasn't what I wanted.... many months (maybe even years) went by when I finally found a Stampin Up demonstrator who was about to get Kraft CS .... Eventually I did get it ... quite a bit of it in fact ... but my interest had by then moved on, my inspiration and my desire had moved to Chipboard, ribbons, buttons, and so on ... So my Kraft card stock remained unopened ... waiting ... until last night ......

I came across Cas - Tastic Wednesday challenge ... a challenge to use Kraft CS .... it was ordained ... finally my pack was opened. Hmmm.... now what? 'Keep it simple' I thought ... just try a idea with some digital and some scraps as a first attempt ....

And I am hooked! ..... So hooked I am going to use this for the Caardvarks Challenge (Happy Birthday to 'My Favorite Things') ...
Digital text by Vinnie Pearce bought Here ... how I love Vinnie Pearce goodies ... Papers from Papermania Rose Garden ...

Love that 3D butterfly punch......

Ribbon, pin and sentiment all from my stash ....
I need to do some more with this Kraft.......

Till soon dear friends

Bird house Card

Hi there....
hope all is well with you....... I've been busy these past few days... had family over today which meant that my posting was late....
I needed to make a card for a friend who has just moved house and I was inspired by the challenge this week at  the Play Date Cafe ... what a pretty picture and so many colours to choose from!

This is what I came up with....

A house shaped card which can be found Here .......
I know this picture looks greenish... but the paper is from Basic Grey (Cupcake range) and I can assure you it has quite a bit of bright yellow in it so I don't know why that is.

Just a little close up so you can see the lovely lace, ric-rac, ticket and even the blue flowered button which all come from my dear friend Kirsty ... you can get these from her Etsy shop Here.

Enjoy your weekend my friends and thank you so much for your lovely comments ...
Till soon

Little Miracles ...

I have a few things to share ....

Firstly a big THANK YOU to Picture Perfect Creations for choosing my card for the "Grand Creations Winner" .. colour combo 19. I never expected that and I am so very thrilled...

Next I have a card to share that I made for Flutterby Wednesday ... a new blogspot that I found ..
The challenge is to use Angels, Fairies or Butterflies... right up my street I should think...

A sweet lil' dancing fairy, with glittered wings, glittery lace and of course a glittered button to match... Well why not?

And lastly but perhaps the best thing I have to share with you is a little miracle from last night...
As you know I teach crafting to a group of mentally and physically challenged 'wonderful' people, each Thursday evening... One of my group, a beautiful young lady, usually just scribbles or enjoys sticking anything and everything down - then dumps her creations ... (doesn't like to take them home) but we usually retrieve them and give them to her Mum. Last night I gave her some glue and some stickers along with her usual paper and pencils and sat a while laughing with her (not that she converses). At the end of the evening she came over to me and handed me this card ....

She actually "Told" me that she made it for ME!! .. It totally blew me away..... I will treasure this and her words to me...

God makes his presence known in the sweetest of ways .......

Thank you for all your comments and your continued support of my efforts ....
Till soon

Life is a challenge .....

Hello friends... how's your day been?

I made a little card for the Shabby Tea Room challenge ... "Lets Make an Impression" ... dry or wet embossing required ... Using the sketch from the JUGS challenge .... Don't own any JustRight goodies I'm afraid ...

Little heat embossed butterflies, lace and tulle and a lot of pink ......
I was fortunate enough to win a "Cream in Our Coffee" award today for which I thank the PlayDate Cafe.

My dear Friend Sara came to visit today and her sweet calming nature lifted my spirit as does this world of creating, your comments and most of all your company. Me and my troubled heart are off to create with my "Happy" group at the Thursday club, so till soon

Keep safe

Today I have a little card for Picture Perfect Creation colour combo challenge ... These are the colours for this weeks' challenge....

Colours usually speak to me.... these spoke of simplicity......

Some embossing, both digital and rubber stamps used .. ribbon, buttons and a fabric heart. Note - not a trace of glitter....

Have a wonderful day....
