Buon Giorno!

I have a card to share that I made for the challenge over at the Play Date Cafe ... this weeks challenge is going Italian ... a colour challenge based on this lovely photograph of Positano

... Lovely isn't it? I have actually been there too and the whole coastline is just breathtaking ... you can never imagine the number of steps the residents have to climb each day there in Positano just to get anywhere ... I am told that some of the oldest people live here too! Truly amazing ....
So my card  ....

It had to be "Amor" ... I love Italy and it is a such romantic place ....

A handmade rose, a paper heart, a pretty tag, ribbon and more embellishments from my stash ... and just in case you're wondering ... the sentiment translated says ... "Love never tires"...

Enjoy your day

Another Birthday ...

Hello there ...

It still isn't a bit like summer here .... further down I have a couple of photos to share of my day and you can see from the skies just what our British summer is like....
Firstly though I have another quick birthday card to share ... I suddenly remembered that this weekend my friend's grandson is having a birthday. Boys birthday cards can be quite difficult especially when they are that 11/ 12 year old stage ... anyway I looked through my digi files and found This kit, Yep, another fabulous freebie from Michelle Underwood ....

I promise you it took no time at all to make this ... All I added was the stitching, the little fences and the cupcake ....

I think this will be suitable don't you?

Today my husband and I went for a drive to a place called Nantwich ... a real old market town with tudor buildings and a slow pace ... we stopped off for lunch at a country pub we know and then on to Nantwich to have a stroll around the few shops there and then drove back stopping at "Snugbury's" ice cream place .. not that either of us are ice cream lovers ( though theirs is good ... very good!) but the surrounding countryside is beautiful and one of their fields in particular each year boasts a huge hay sculpture ... they have had Big Ben , ferris wheels, rockets etc., and this year it is an enormous Meerkat!

See, there I am by the Meerkat and you can see how windy it is and how dark the sky is ... I guess only us Brits walk around in the rain and wind eating ice cream in August!!
If you are interested in seeing the other sculptures ... Here is a link ...

Have a great weekend everyone
Till soon

For my Brother ...

Hi ... How's your day going?
... a little card to share with you today ...

I came across a challenge blog that is new to me .. My time to Craft ... the challenge is to make a card/ project with food or drink ... and I had just made this for my one of my brothers...

I have had this image for the longest time and finally it came into use ....

A little story too ... You see, up until a couple of years ago my family and I never even knew about our brother ... (actually we are half siblings but I don't like that 'half ' word ... ) so without the world wide web we may never have known ... It is an emotional story - like something from a film really - but God works in mysterious ways and I will always be grateful that he brought us together ...
Happy Birthday Bill ...

Till soon

Off pops the lid, well, roof actually, and Voila! heaps of gorgeous chocolate .......

The Shabby Tea Room colours are soft blues, creams, whites and brown .....

... and my house is decorated all around in the same soft shades ....

Lots of creamy lace, glittery butterfly, digitally printed customised card stock, lil' fences cut with my sizzix, flowers and buttons all glittery too ( not sure you can see that though) ....

.. a few bubble stickers, some digital collage, and a little heart frame I made from chipboard and of course glittered ....

Karen's Mum ...

... is going to celebrate her 80th Birthday this week ... Karen is my friend from high school days and who'd have thought some 40+ years later we'd still be in touch let alone still good friends.... though we don't see each other as often as we should ...
Her Mum and Dad are just the best! ... as teenagers Karen and I were always together and I spent many days and nights at her house .. her Mum and Dad always treated me just like one of their own ... her siblings were like my siblings ... I finally got to see the whole family together again last year at her Dad's 80th birthday party ( he doesn't look a day over 60 I promise you!) ... It was a beautiful, emotional evening and I can hardly wait for Saturday to meet up again ..

This is the card I made ...

How cute is that little birdie?? He is part of a range of digital images that I have had for years called Flights of Fancy 11 ... but for the life of me I don't remember where I bought them from ... I have googled it but to no avail ...
For the card I printed a solid colour from Pink Petticoat Flourishes ... a collection of their digital papers can be found Here ... and printed again on top with a "positive" version then added some glitter ... I can't take the credit for this idea ... It comes from Liz Armstrong from Pink Petticoat ... and I must say I love the result ... even without the glitter the effect is stunning.
I cut some scalloped edges and stitched them on just to make it a bit different .. I see that Bazzil do these shaped cards and they are lovely ...ever
ything else is from my stash.

As a final note ... have you checked out the Jar swap at City Crafters ? check Here you still have time.

Enjoy the day my friends ....
Till soon
