Waltzing Mouse ..

I haven't had time to enter the WaltzingMouse challenge for such a long time and I found this weeks sketch so unusual ... and definitely challenging to me! Then yesterday I was speaking to one of my friends' who is off to Spain for a month and she was saying how she liked to receive Euros instead of gifts on her birthday ... that way she can enjoy her stay and treat herself and her hubby to a nice evening meal ... so that was my inspiration for this card ...

The Maya Road envelope opens to put the money inside ... And yes, it's very colourful I know ... but I wanted to make sure it stood out so she wouldn't lose it ...

The background paper is from a pad my SIL gave me ... flowers are Prima ... blue papers and stamped tape are Tim Holtz and the postal stickers are from my stash ... I also added a button and a scrap of lace and did some stamping ...
I'll be back tomorrow with another card to share ... till then keep safe

I had 3 bouquets of flowers too! What a terrific birthday ... and I was taken out to dinner last night by my hubby ....
So "Thank You" ... CCCB girls and ALL you lovely people ... I feel so blessed .... I have a lot of catching up to do today so I hope to be back with you soon ... but now I am off to visit your blogs ... and drool over your beautiful creations .....

City Crafters Week 39

Hello ... good morning to you all ... I am hosting this weeks' challenge at City Crafters Challenge Blog and I thought this week I do a sketch ... never done one of these before ... nor had I ever drawn one on my computer ... but that turned out to be easy peasy so I'm hoping you will also find the sketch just as easy and come and join us ... Pixie Dust Paperie is generously sponsoring this challenge so you can win a $15 gift certificate to spend on any of their lovely goods ... and we have the very talented Tracy MacDonald as  Guest Designer ... please hop over and welcome her ...
Ok ... this is the sketch ...

... and my card

I made this for my friends' daughter and I just love these papers from SU and the beautiful image from Crafty Secrets ... the tag was made using the "Fancy Tags" by Spellbinders ... I cut it in thin black card  printed the sentiment on white card ... trimmed that and adhered it to the black tag ...

So now it's over to you ... I am excited to see what you come up with ...
AND
I would like to say a huge THANK YOU ... to all my lovely friends at
... for their beautiful Birthday Cards ... you guys are just the best!! ... I get to celebrate today and tomorrow ...
If you want to see what I'm talking about just pop over to the blog and take a peek ...

Have a wonderful day

Jingle Belles wk 2

It's a pretty miserable day here ... overcast and wet ... but it hasn't deterred Hubby from going to golf after more than 4 weeks away following his eye op. He was so excited as he headed out the door with his new clubs ... And me? ... well a few of us girls are meeting up today for coffee ... 'someone' has a birthday this week and it also means I can get out of Pilates too ...
So I have a card that I made for the Jingle Belles Rock challenge this week ... we were asked to use "inchies" ... hmmm, well first I'll show you my card ...

I chose to cut a Christmas image into 1" squares and do a sort of tile effect ... which I then framed with some white card that I first cut using my Sizzix and label die, then I embossed it with the swiss dots folder ... then sprayed it with adhesive and gave it a generous coating of glitter ... I thought the whole tile sat nicely on this DP ... I just had this one piece that I think came from a pack I bought over a year ago at CupCards To Go

Some lace and 2 little chipboard pieces (that look just like my DP) but topped with flowers instead of brads ... and in case you are wondering ... my image came from a recycled Christmas card from 2009
Now I'm not saying that I will do a Christmas card every week ... but this challenge is great way to keep on top of things come Christmas ... which we all know seems to come around really quick ...
I'm off to visit your blogs now so have a great day
Till soon

Winter Wishes

Good morning blog friends ... I have a card to share that will be winging it's way across the ocean to a sweet blog friend ... I missed getting a Christmas card to her and so decided to create a special winter one ... which also qualifies for the new challenge over at Moxie Fab World ... where Gray (or grey as it is here in the UK) is the New Black ...
I have been playing around with some silver grey fabric I had in my stash ... and I love the look of it against the MME glitter paper (boy this paper will last forever!) ...

I used my Sizzix to cut some edging and lots of circles which I used to make my embellishment
topped with another of those pretty silver and pearl centres ... these actually came from some enormous earrings I bought in the sales ... I am always on the look out for these kind of thing and sometime I see the lady on the till eye me up ... probably thinking "what on earth is she thinking ... buying these"
But hey, there were 4 of these on one earring alone ...  at 70p for the pair ... I'm getting a bargain!

So Sylvia ... I am sorry that this is late ... but I hope it is worth the wait and Thanks ever so much for your handmade jewel ...

and you have the most amazing handwriting! ... how I wish I could write like that (sigh)
Have a wonderful Sunday
Till soon

Eleven Elements ...

That's the challenge over at the Shabby Tea Room this week ... to me it sounded kinda daunting ... but yesterday I made a card for my friend's daughter ... Laura who celebrates her birthday in a few days ... ... and my SIL was looking at it and asking how many papers I used etc. and that caused me to count my elements ... Yahoo! eleven! Really? ... well I counted a few times to be sure ... here we go ...

1. Card stock (printed in vintage cream)
2. Four different papers ( all SU) ... makes 5 ...
6. Crafty Secrets image
7. Stitching
8. Satin ribbon
9. Tape measure twill tape
10. Black tulle
11. Silver and pearl embellishment
Yep ... eleven ... so here is my card ...

I used to take care of Laura ... she kind of grew up with Mikey ... like brother and sister ... often playing but mostly fighting and squabbling! So I taught her to sew ... to cook ... all things creative and girlie ... which proved to be a waste of time (LOL!) and now she is leaving to travel ... so she will appreciated this card and the memory behind it ... and no doubt have a chuckle ...

Before I go ... I wanted to just mention something about Facebook .... I've have a few requests lately to be "friends" which is so nice ... and I have no problem in accepting these requests ... BUT ... I don't usually put anything on Facebook ... Now call me paranoid ... but I am soooo wary ... See, when I lost my Mum ... within days her identity had been stolen ... When I should have been grieving ... I was fighting to clear her name ... it took me 9 months ... It broke my heart all over again ... she never owed anyone in her life ... and bills were piling up from some ruthless evil person, that probably new her and lived near her ... someone she probably trusted ... So forgive me if I do not correspond via Facebook ... ignore requests to give out information etc.,  you might think this strange ... me being a blogger an all but that's just me ...

Till soon
