HAPPY MOTHERS DAY

Good morning ...
I'm just popping in to wish you all a Happy Mothers Day ... we have already celebrated this here in the UK
but I know that there are lots of you ladies around the world celebrating today ...
Motherhood to me is the best gift ever ... hard work but incredibly worthwhile ... whether it be to a group of children or just one ...  even if you're "Mom" to a pet ... cat ... dog whatever ...
I read somewhere that Motherhood is like having your heart walk around in someone else's body for the rest of your life ... how true ...
Have a wonderful day wherever you are ...

I also wanted to just say a couple of "Thank You's"
... To sweet June Lanum for sending me some lovely happy mail
... and to WaltzingMouse for my Top Mouse award this week ...

Till soon

2nd post

Hello ... this is my second post today ... another challenge card .. this time for The Shabby Tea Room where the theme this week is "Sweet Dreams" ... a colour challenge based on this lovely photo ...

There's something so gentle and fresh about these colours ... and I am glad I found the time and inspiration to join in this week ... this is my take

Something a little whimsical and soft ... a mixture of different papers ... lace, doily, seam binding and a sweet butterfly with a little tassel ...

... and I think this quote is so very apt ...

Till soon

WaltzingMouse Challenge

The syrup of kindness ... it comes in all forms ... it could just be a smile that somehow makes your day ... a hug when you most need it ... a card or phone call from a friend ... they are all little bits of kindness that we can give ... and in the giving ... we are giving to ourself  ...

I have a card to share that I made for this weeks challenge at WaltzingMouse based on this sketch
This card didn't come easy ... my creativity seem to have left me this week ... I looked through my WM stamps ... tried a few things ... then discarded them ... disappointed I left it alone for a while ... then I cast my eye over the Rescue Remedies and suddenly it all fell into place ...

I love how these stamps fit so neatly with my SB dies ... I stamped onto cream card stock with brown ink then die cut it and cut a larger die out of canvass to back it with ... I used some gorgeous Bo Bunny paper for the background

A beautiful Prima flower and some pretty pearlescent ones with little pearls just seem to fit ... and believe it or not I had that tassel in my stash ... so my card was born ...
I hope you all have a lovely weekend ...

Keep safe

City Crafter Initial Challenge ...

Hi there!
Today I am hosting at City Crafter Challenge Blog and I thought it would be nice to do a colour  challenge this week ... I decided to use the initials of our blog CCCB for the colours ... (good huh?... )here's the inspiration picture

I even challenged myself with this one Lol! But the DT came through with some lovely cards and you also need to see what our fabulous Guest Designer Davi Reid did too ... I am so thrilled to say that our sponsor this week is the lovely talented and generous Deb Hickman ...
So finally here is my take on these colours ...

Yep ... using my PTI stamps again with some gorgeous Websters Pages ...

The butterfly, crochet flower etc., was all from my stash ... I used some SB dies to cut the borders just to add a bit of interest ...
So are you up for the challenge? I do hope so ... remember that you can make a card or any project just as long as you stick to the colours ... Can't wait to see your take on this challenge ...

Have a lovely day ...

CR84FN26

Good Morning to you ...
I hope you are enjoying the day
It's been a lovely Bank Holiday here .. 4 days of glorious sunshine which is very rare for the UK ... it nearly always rains on Bank Holidays ...
I have a card I made for this weeks colour challenge at CR84FN ... here is the inspiration picture and another amazing quotation ...

and my card ...

I had a scrap of pale yellow which I stamped pretty roses onto to give that rich gold colour and adhered this to a piece of corrugated card ...
The postcard is a digital image from Iralamija's Etsy shop and the mushroom image is also from Etsy Madebyjanet ...

I'm really loving these soft colours ... and I have to say that without these challenges I probably would never have come up with these pretty combinations ... I have grown so much from following sketches, colour combinations and techniques ... Thank you to all you challenge blogs out there for the fun and encouragement ...

Have a lovely day
Till soon ... keep safe

Jingle Belles Week 18 & Amazing flowers

Happy May Day dear friends ...
So far I've had a wonderful weekend ... yesterday my friend and I went to the City of Chester ... A lovely place steeped in history ... the sun was shining ... the city was full ... we stopped at cafe bars had coffee and took in the street performers and of course hit a few shops ...
There was such a wonderful atmosphere ... what a difference the sun makes
The Jingle Belles prompt this week comes from Jess Moyer and we are asked to create a card without using any DP at all ... once again the DT have done fabulous cards as has Jess ... so without further ado ... here is my card

I'm still loving my robins ... would you believe that as I was making this "Rockin' Robin" was playing on the radio? ...
I was itching to try out my new SB dies and this was the perfect chance ... a simple black background to mount it on and some fussy cut birdies on a branch from an old Christmas card ...
A stamped greeting and some rhinestones is all that was needed along with some pretty gingham ribbon which is just ruffled onto some score tape ...

I've got to say that this is probably the quickest card I've made

Now I want to show you some amazing flowers ... just found in the supermarket today ... You may have seen these before but I certainly haven't ... they are Tulips ... but unusual ones ...

Do they or don't they just look like pieces of frayed linen?? Shabby chic or what? I thought they were amazing! ... sorry about the quality of the picture ... my DH took it on his phone ... yep people were looking at us like we were mad ... Lol!
and what about these Tulips ...

All curly and floppy ... but I love them ...
and finally some roses ... which I call "Vintage Roses" because they look like they have been edged in distress ink ...

That's all for now ... enjoy your day ...
Till soon
