Mini note pads...

Happy Sunday sweet friends ...
Not a lot to report ... I am feeling much better and I am so grateful for your well wishes .. I know my problem is often stress related and there are some ongoing family issues that tear at my heart ... but as my sweet dear Aunt often reminds me "... no one said life would be easy..."
It helps to know you guys are there and creating things ... keeping my hands and mind busy is a great healer ...
I have been practising using those pliers I told you about ... there sure is a knack of using them and so far I have made a few dangly charms ... they are far from perfect ... but practice makes perfect right? Anyway I thought I'd share some of the sticky note holders I told you about in my last post ... I just can't stop making these ...

I am waiting on some clasps I have ordered for the charms ... then each book will have a different "dangly ... thingy" ...

and a look at the inside

There is a table sale at the local church in September to raise funds for the restoration of the bell tower ... I am thinking of going along and selling these books along with my cards and things ... what do you think? ... I do make to order for friends and the like but I'm a little shy of sitting there selling my own things ... am I crazy or what?
Before I leave you ... I want to say a Big Thank You ... to Jeanneke ... one very talented lady for sure ...
who sent me these handmade yo yo's

Aren't they just the sweetest! ... I know I will put these to good use ... Thank you Jeanneke ... such a very kind gesture ...

Have a wonderful Sunday my friends
Blessings

Altered Tins

Hi there ...
I am really suffering with my tummy today ... there is only one thing to lift my spirits ... and that is playing in my craft room ... actually I have been waiting on a delivery too, so I couldn't go out (good excuse to play don't you think?) ...
One of my great loves is altering things ... I could browse blogs all day ... looking at all the creative talent and gaining inspiration and a multitude of ideas ... and today was one of those days when I was itching to alter something ... it happened that I had three of these ordinary tins ... just waiting to be prettied up a little

I am a great fan of The Graphic Fairy and often play around in Print Shop with their images and that's just what I did today ... I used a background paper from Digital House Design and then added the graphics I wanted and printed onto self adhesive paper which I used to cover the tins ... This is the result ...

I wasn't quite sure what to do with the lids ... so I used some white Acrylic paint to first make them a little distressed then printed more graphics and cut them using my SB

I quite like them ... what do you think?

At the moment I'm ready to cover anything that doesn't move ... and as my eyes are darting around I'm thinking "what's next..."

Hope you're having a lovely day ...
Thanks for visiting

Just playing

Hello ... are you well?
It's cold and very wet here in the UK and I had planned to go into the city to meet my SIL ... but due to the weather and the riots that have been taking place ... we opted for the mall in Warrington ... a bit of  lunch some girlie shopping and then back home for some coffee and a chat.
My best buy today? ... would you believe it was a pair of pliers? ... I got a bargain pair of shoes ... from £35 to £10 but I was more delighted with pliers ... I know ... I'm a sad person ... but see these pliers are jewellery pliers and I have been making little sticky note holders after seeing the beauties created by the very talented Ulina (do take a look at her gorgeous blog) ... and I struggle to make the dangly charms with my ordinary pliers ... I sometime use silver or gold thread to hold the charms but I like to be able to try new things ... anyway that's not what I have to share (made 4 of those books and didn't photograph one before I gave them away... duh!)
I just have a card I made whilst playing with my new Postage folder from TH .... I love this folder ... thanks to Mona Pendleton for sharing ... and this time I embossed a digital postcard from the Graphics Fairy

The little girl with the kitty is a free image from Printable Heaven and I made this is honour of my kitty coming home (hee! hee!)

The background paper is Eline's Huis and there is also a scrap from Prima botanicals in there too ... the gorgeous lace came from Pixie Dust Paperie and I've been holding on to it for ever!

Well that's all for now ... I hope you enjoy your evening and I hope the UK has a peaceful "riot free" night

Till soon

City Crafter Challenge 69

Hello ... Are you ready for a new challenge with us here at
This week sweet Linda is hosting for us and what a challenge she has set ...
Include Hand Doodling on your card/project ... Now that is different and believe me ... it was a challenge for me ... If I was Picasso ... Rembrandt ... or any famous person ... I expect my doodles would be worth a fortune ... but I kept thinking ... "Who would want my doodles on their card?" ... me ... I usually doodle circles .... flowers and line 'flicks' ... a bit like grass ... I'm sure a therapist could really make something of that ... But ... a challenge is a challenge so I said to myself " ... the heck with it ... just
Do Ya Doodle ..."
And here we are ... my doodles ... for all the world to see

I 'doodled' on a piece of white CS and thought I'd try using one of my Distress Stains (Antique Linen to be exact) over my doodling ... seems that the ink from my pen ... sort of bled with the stain and produced this purple shade which lightened as it got to the top of the CS ... and I had just the right papers to go with this 'creation' (ha ha) ...

I'm still a little self conscious about my doodles but in the end I kinda liked the effect ... and so glad I was pushed to try it (Thanks Linda) What do you think?
This week we have the very inspiring Juls aka Theglitterchick kindly Guest Designing for us and as always there is a prize up for grabs ... so hop over to the blog and see what the rest of the DT have created ... and then why not show us your doodles!

Look forward to 'seeing' you there

Till soon

Jingle Belles card 32 ... and a busy Saturday ..

Hello ... lots to share today ...
Thank you for your well wishes ... I am feeling much better tummy wise ... really enjoyed the girls get together on Friday ... something we do occasionally and have done for more than 20yrs ... though I can hardly believe it's been that long! And the Anniversary party went well ... it was lovely to see the happy couple and catch up with my friends from the old neighbourhood ... my friends who were celebrating 40 years of wedded bliss have been together since school days ... a true love story ... which made last night all the more special and I got very teary when they took to the floor and danced to a beautiful song ...
I hope they have many more happy years ahead ... they so deserve it.
Here we are together

I also had a visit from my brother and SIL yesterday and their two grandchildren ... Ross and Sophia ... how I adore those cuties ... it was such fun seeing them ...

... and somehow I managed to fit in my card
for this weeks' challenge at Jingle Belles ... which is titled "Shape Up For The Holidays" ... make a card that is any other shape than the usual rectangle or square ones ...

Yep, just a mitten card ... nothing that fancy I'm afraid ... I printed the shape from my computer onto my cardstock and hand cut it (don't own a cricut) and then covered it with MME paper and a few embellishments

And now I'm going to leave you with the beautiful song they played for my friend's last night ... enjoy!
