Jugs Challenge ...

Hi ... this is my second post today
I have been out most of the day and suddenly realised that the challenge at  "Just Us Girls"  finishes in a few hours... and this challenge is right up my alley ... Alter A Notebook ...
You all know how I love to make books!
Trouble is... it is dark here and having made my book ... I am really struggling to photograph it ... So I apologise now for the really poor quality photos ...

I made a hardback one this time using thick card and covering it it with papers from We R memory keepers ...

This is a side view and you can see I added one of my handmade dangly charms ... and the reflection is from a clear creation from Making Memories

I also used a scrap of burlap, one of those pretty Narratives from Lynnda ... a heart I cut from cardboard and painted ... some lace ... a flower from Prima and some paper curls ... and the inside

I make a new notebook for each new term of Philosophy ... this will be perfect come September ... I'm just sorry that the pictures are not so good ...
Before I go ... Happy Birthday to Pam Imholz  at JUGS who celebrates her birthday this week too
Have a lovely evening

Till soon

Dreams ...

Good Morning!

It's a lovely sunny morning here again and really I can't complain about our summer ... It hasn't been scorching hot and it hasn't rained everyday ... so for me that's just fine!
As I sit to write this ... my Mum's favourite song has come on the radio ... Would you believe "Boyzone" ... "No Matter What " ...
It was played at her funeral and I know the words are very significant to us as a family ...
I am a prolific dreamer ... I can remember my dreams too ... sometimes they are not good ... But hearing this song ... well last night I dreamed about my Mum and my Dad ... the whys and wherefores would mean nothing to you ... but the overall point was that I got to hug my Dad and tell him that we love him very very much and asked him to promise to be the father we needed ... to 'stay' with us ... It was something that needed to be said and IRL we never got the chance to ... my Dad was full of remorse and my brother ... who is going through such an ordeal right now ... he was there with me ... and thanked me for speaking to our Dad ... I feel like it was significant ... like somewhere my Mum and Dad are there for us and this morning I am feeling very comforted ...

I just have a couple of things to share ... a card I made for a gentlemen I know who celebrated his 90th Birthday recently ... I swear he doesn't look a day over 75 and I was shocked to find out how old he is ... For many years he kept pigeons ... I know he misses them dearly ... so I used my Tim Holtz die for this

I used some distress inks on this birdie too ...

And I also thought I'd show you some of the Dangly things I have done for my mini notepads ... I'm no jewellery maker ... that's for sure ... but I like to try ...

Well I guess I have to start somewhere huh?

So that's it for today ... I'm going to leave you for now and hope you have a wonderful day
Till soon

City Crafter Challenge

Hello! Happy Tuesday!
... Time for a "Scrap Happy" challenge at City Crafter ... chosen for us this week by the very talented Cheryl who asks that we use Only Scraps for our cards or projects and if you are anything like me ... you will have heaps of scraps!! I keep every little thing.
I love this challenge ... and know that I could have made a whole lots of cards from my scraps ... which I intend to do as soon as time permits ...

At first I pulled together scraps of the same tone ...
and then I decided to add some green in there too ... and can you see the little charm ... well I actually found this on the floor of a car park ... abandoned and unwanted ... but of course I knew I could use it

You know this card came together so very quickly and I like it better than some of the cards I have agonised and taken hours over ... I must do this more often ... maybe I'll do another now... what about you? Are you ready to get Scrap Happy with us at CCCB? I hope so ... if you need inspiration, check out the work from the rest of the DT and our talented GD this week Tante Kathe ... and there is a super prize .. also from our lovely Cheryl  ... So I hope to "see" you there ...

Have a lovely day

Jingle Belles card 33 ...

Hello ...
I've finished card 33 for the Jingle belles challenge ... and I've got it going on ... oh yes I have ... I know it's a bit hard to see with the photo's ... but believe me ... I've got it going on ...
The "Sparkle" ... the "Bling" ..
'cos that's what this weeks' challenge is all about ...
"Bling on the Holidays!" What a great title ...
and once again Lauren and Stef have each created a masterpiece
And here's my take ...

Well I said it was hard to photograph ... the background is silver and holographic .. hence the rainbow effect on the photo ... and of course I used some MME glitter paper .. (will I ever finish this paper pad? ... not this year that's for sure) ... My lace is also sparkly ... and then some silver mesh ... topped with some up-
cycled silver flowers and blue rhinestones ...

My little chipboard sentiment matched perfectly ... and this looks so much prettier IRL ... either way I think I can safely say ... mission accomplished!
Have you started your Christmas cards yet? ... Doing this challenge has more than helped me ... so why not join in?
I'll be back tomorrow with the City Crafter challenge ... I hope you'll stop by

Have a lovely day ... keep safe

Mini note pads...

Happy Sunday sweet friends ...
Not a lot to report ... I am feeling much better and I am so grateful for your well wishes .. I know my problem is often stress related and there are some ongoing family issues that tear at my heart ... but as my sweet dear Aunt often reminds me "... no one said life would be easy..."
It helps to know you guys are there and creating things ... keeping my hands and mind busy is a great healer ...
I have been practising using those pliers I told you about ... there sure is a knack of using them and so far I have made a few dangly charms ... they are far from perfect ... but practice makes perfect right? Anyway I thought I'd share some of the sticky note holders I told you about in my last post ... I just can't stop making these ...

I am waiting on some clasps I have ordered for the charms ... then each book will have a different "dangly ... thingy" ...

and a look at the inside

There is a table sale at the local church in September to raise funds for the restoration of the bell tower ... I am thinking of going along and selling these books along with my cards and things ... what do you think? ... I do make to order for friends and the like but I'm a little shy of sitting there selling my own things ... am I crazy or what?
Before I leave you ... I want to say a Big Thank You ... to Jeanneke ... one very talented lady for sure ...
who sent me these handmade yo yo's

Aren't they just the sweetest! ... I know I will put these to good use ... Thank you Jeanneke ... such a very kind gesture ...

Have a wonderful Sunday my friends
Blessings

Altered Tins

Hi there ...
I am really suffering with my tummy today ... there is only one thing to lift my spirits ... and that is playing in my craft room ... actually I have been waiting on a delivery too, so I couldn't go out (good excuse to play don't you think?) ...
One of my great loves is altering things ... I could browse blogs all day ... looking at all the creative talent and gaining inspiration and a multitude of ideas ... and today was one of those days when I was itching to alter something ... it happened that I had three of these ordinary tins ... just waiting to be prettied up a little

I am a great fan of The Graphic Fairy and often play around in Print Shop with their images and that's just what I did today ... I used a background paper from Digital House Design and then added the graphics I wanted and printed onto self adhesive paper which I used to cover the tins ... This is the result ...

I wasn't quite sure what to do with the lids ... so I used some white Acrylic paint to first make them a little distressed then printed more graphics and cut them using my SB

I quite like them ... what do you think?

At the moment I'm ready to cover anything that doesn't move ... and as my eyes are darting around I'm thinking "what's next..."

Hope you're having a lovely day ...
Thanks for visiting
