City Crafter Challenge "Boo-tiful"

Hello and Good Morning

We have a colour challenge going on at City Crafter this week ... chosen by our lovely Cheryl and the primary colours are Black and Cream ... It doesn't have to be a Halloween theme but that's the route I chose to go ... using some graphics from The Graphics Fairy
I made a little Halloween plaque ...

When my husband saw this he asked why the cat was upside down ... I had to explain that the cat was above the birdie and bent her head over to say "Boo!" ... You get it don't you?

Anyway I kinda see the funny side ... I remember one of  my cats doing this when we had a fish tank on a shelf ... she got on the next shelf and bent over to watch the fish ... or scare them ...

I'm not sure if you can see the black glitter on my cat and some on the birdie ... I wanted some of that blue to come through ... reminds me of a magpie ... Scary birds I think!
Our Guest Designer this week is a talented lady from the Netherlands and someone you are probably all familiar with ... Yep, it's my sweet friend Stella ... please pop over and say "Hi" and check out her lovely creation along with the rest of the DT ...
Our sponsor is Pixie Dust Paperie ... who have a fabulous new kit out this month ... Gorgeous!
Have I convinced you to join us this week? I hope so ... I love to see your creations ...
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day

Shabby Wraps

Tomorrow is my friend Ella's birthday so today after Pilates 4 of us girls met up for coffee and a little celebration lunch ...
Ella and I went shopping on Saturday and she picked her main present from me ... but I also had a few little chocolate surprises to give her as well these lovely Roses

... and I had fun wrapping her gifts ...

Like me - she loves chocolate covered marzipan ... and I put a few bars into this cute hanging basket ... this is the same template that I used for this weeks' challenge at CCCB from Creations By AR

This one I printed and cut from white CS and then covered in cream coloured crepe paper

... a little wooden heart covered in paper from Prima The Printery range ...

Strips of ribbons, twill, lace and burlap tied with twine and topped with a shabby flower made from some frayed fabric ... and a gorgeous rose centre ... The colours match her bedroom and I know it will just look so pretty hanging in there ...

... Praline chocolates wrapped in crepe paper and another bundle of shabby strips, a crocheted heart ... a flower from Wild Orchid Crafts ... tied up with natural raffia ...

... and to complete the set, a decorated envelope ... the card you have already seen Here
You know, I think I have converted her to shabby chic ....

Have a lovely day ... I'll be back tomorrow for the  City Crafter Challenge ... I hope you can stop by

Till soon

Jingle Belles ... Pink Christmas

Hello there ...

Have you seen this weeks challenge at Jingle Belles Rock? This month is breast cancer awareness month so in honour of that we are asked to make a pink Christmas card ... and those lovely Belles Lauren and Stef are going to donate a dollar for each entry this week to Susan G Komen For The Cure ... how wonderful is that!! My sweet Aunt had a double mastectomy at the age of 80 ... 4 years on she is thankfully doing well ...
So I wasted no time in coming up with my card this week ...

picked up this leaf ribbon sometime ago ... it has a thread running through it and pulled into a flower I think it looks like a poinsettia ... what do you think?

... even sugared up some bells for the occasion ...

I now have 41 cards done for Christmas ... Phew! How about you ... have you made a start yet?

Have a wonderful weekend and thanks ever so much for stopping by

LESSology Challenge ....

You know ... some things don't always go as planned ... When LESSology challenge blog started ... I so wanted to join in with everything ... but time got away from me each week ...
This week the challenge is to decorate a paper bag (white or brown) and of course every challenge at LESSology must include a recycled item too ...
In the UK ... we don't get those cute brown bags that my USA friends make such wonderful albums from ... they seem to have so many uses and appear quite strong ... But as it happened I did have a little brown bag .. well, a big brown bag ... (I cut the top off )... and I had need of a gift bag for one of my sweet blog buddies ... so it was finally the perfect opportunity to join in the fun ...

I had so much fun doing this .... and my recycled item is of course the lovely corrugated edging

The little chipboard birdie I painted using TH Distress stains ... and the little key came home with me from Majorca ... I got a bunch of them in an art shop I found in Soller ... they're called "Lucky Keys" ... I hope this brings luck to my blog friend

Sorry I can't share what is inside this bag ... don't want to spoil the birthday surprise ...

But one surprise I can share is this ...
A sweet little gift and card from my lovely friend Kirsty

Kirsty made me this gorgeous crochet apple holder and the beautiful card

Look at that cute little leaf ...
THANK YOU KIRSTY!!

Till soon

Jingle Belles ... Peace on Earth

This is my second post today ... The challenge over at Jingle Belles Rock finishes in a few hours so I had to  get this done pretty quick! The theme this week is 'Peace on Earth' ... incorporate anything that evokes 'Peace' for you ... I saw this peacefully sleeping baby Jesus whilst trawling the web and decided that was it for me ...

I also think that snow is incredibly peaceful when it falls ... especially at night ... so silently ... (Miss Lauren would disagree with me there ... she would say ... it's like a Ninja ... attacking without warning ... ha ha)

... and card number 40 is done ...

If you are interested in some of my photos please feel free to scroll down to the previous post

Have a lovely evening

Farewell Majorca ....

Hello ...
I am back on English soil ... and I am glad to be home ... to be in my little craft nest ... Happy to see my son and to wake up with the cat snuggled on my bed

I will miss the sun rising over the bay ...

... Sleepy little harbours like this ...

... Sitting back with a cappuccino watching the world go by

... and the living statues that sit all day in the heat and fascinate me ...

I didn't get a chance to post this Tag It passed to me by sweet June Lanum ... before my trip

Thank you so much June ... And now I think I have to tell 10 things about me ... I'm not good at this

  1. I am a "Scouser" the only one of my family born and bred in Liverpool ...
  2. My parents and brothers are all Londoners
  3. My Grandparents were French and Swiss
  4. I have been married twice and have 1 beautiful son from my first marriage
  5. I am a home bird ...
  6. I am happy with my own company and never really get bored
  7. I have learned that I am a strong woman ... self sufficient and capable
  8. I treasure my friendships and never forget a kindness
  9. I adore animals and nature
  10. I strive everyday to be a better person ...

I would like to pass this on to Cindy Adkins "Whimsical Musings"  a relatively new blog friend who is  incredibly talented and helpful ...

I hope you are having a wonderful day ... thanks for stopping by
