Jingle Belles Card 42

I finally got my card done ...
This is my second post today and earlier I was still looking for my inspiration
This weeks challenge at Jingle Belles is to make a card based on any Christmas holiday song or carol and I think my card speaks for itself ... easy to guess huh?

... the music sheet gives it away ...

"Oh Christmas Tree"
... covered in mica flakes and perhaps not the usual colour DP for Christmas ... It was a scrap I had and I just love the colour

I know I've used this folded tree design before ... I don't tire of it ... it's easy and so effective ... for the trunk I used some corrugated cardboard ... painted with distress stains

Till soon ... have a lovely day/evening

A Thank you ...

Hello sweet friends ...
I am still here ... and my back is improving but my hip is still a problem ... Unfortunately I am not very good with painkillers ... they mess with my head ... even the smallest dose seems to make me groggy ... so here I am trying to clear the fog and come up with a card for this weeks' challenge at Jingle Bells ... without success ... Then the post arrived and Wow!! just look what I got from my lovely and very talented friend .. Ira

Look at that adorable cat Ira made me!! I just love it!

and these beautiful satin gloves .. to handle the cat ha! ha! (or to wear with my Chanel No. 5)

... and that is not all ... she even sent me some gorgeous papers and beautiful die cuts ...

I am doing a happy dance (one legged of course) ...
Thank you so much Ira .... you really made my day and I am so grateful

I also have a Thank you to say to lovely Linda of Hands to work Hearts to Love for passing on this Butterfly Award to me

I have to answer 12 questions ....
  1. My favourite colour ... I really don't have one .. it depends on what it's for
  2. My favourite song .... (difficult)... but I love "I vow to thee my country"
  3. My favourite dessert ... Anything with almonds or marzipan
  4. What ticks me off at the moment ... My Hip!!
  5. My favourite pet ... Has to be a dog
  6. Black or White ... For what?
  7. Biggest fear ... Heights!!!
  8. Best feature ... My son
  9. Everyday attitude ... Thank God I'm upright and breathing
  10. What is perfection ... To love and be loved
  11. Guilty pleasure ... I can't tell you that!
  12. When I'm upset I ... Retreat into myself

So now I have to pass this on but there are so many of you that I would like to pass this to so please feel free to take it  ...
I will be back tomorrow with another challenge at City Crafter ... thank you all so much for your well wishes ... for your comments and for visiting me ... What would I do without you?

Take care

    Dancing Queen

    Hi there ...
I want to share a precious photo with you ... this is Mel the sweet little daughter of Jacira at her dancing class ...

and she is wearing the outfit I sent her ... the little Tinkerbell dress, wings and all! Jacira says she loves it and I am so happy to see that beautiful little face and know that the outfit fits her so well too! Isn't she just adorable?
I also wanted to let you know that I may not be around for a while ... I hate to complain .. But
on monday afternoon I was doing some housework and my back started to hurt quite badly ... I thought I had probably pulled a muscle or something and that given a few days it would start to heal ...
By last night things had become worse ... I needed to get a project done for my Thursday group and thought that this would at least take my mind off things ... wouldn't you know it ... my trusty Big Shot broke! Yep, the handle just fell right off ... Oh how I love that machine .... Well that put paid to my project ... and another machine is on order ... Anywho ...
my pain problem kept me up all night ... Here in the UK we have Walk In centres ... like mini emergency rooms with nurses in charge ... so Hubby took me there to see if there was perhaps something I could take to help the pain ... Well what I thought was just probably muscular ... maybe even a trapped nerve - kinda escalated ... A few years ago I had kidney stones that caused awful pain ... the nurse having completed some tests today seems to think I may have dislodged another stone and that could be the problem ... I am now waiting on a call from my GP to see if I have to go back to hospital .. Yuk!!
Maybe they can just give me some pain relief ...  I just want to stay here and play with my craft things ...
So, if I haven't visited your blogs in the next few days ... please know I haven't forgotten you or fallen out with you ... I am just temporarily "Out of Action" ok? Phew!

    Till soon

    City Crafter Challenge "Boo-tiful"

    Hello and Good Morning

We have a colour challenge going on at City Crafter this week ... chosen by our lovely Cheryl and the primary colours are Black and Cream ... It doesn't have to be a Halloween theme but that's the route I chose to go ... using some graphics from The Graphics Fairy
    I made a little Halloween plaque ...

When my husband saw this he asked why the cat was upside down ... I had to explain that the cat was above the birdie and bent her head over to say "Boo!" ... You get it don't you?

Anyway I kinda see the funny side ... I remember one of  my cats doing this when we had a fish tank on a shelf ... she got on the next shelf and bent over to watch the fish ... or scare them ...

I'm not sure if you can see the black glitter on my cat and some on the birdie ... I wanted some of that blue to come through ... reminds me of a magpie ... Scary birds I think!
Our Guest Designer this week is a talented lady from the Netherlands and someone you are probably all familiar with ... Yep, it's my sweet friend Stella ... please pop over and say "Hi" and check out her lovely creation along with the rest of the DT ...
Our sponsor is Pixie Dust Paperie ... who have a fabulous new kit out this month ... Gorgeous!
Have I convinced you to join us this week? I hope so ... I love to see your creations ...
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day

    Shabby Wraps

Tomorrow is my friend Ella's birthday so today after Pilates 4 of us girls met up for coffee and a little celebration lunch ...
Ella and I went shopping on Saturday and she picked her main present from me ... but I also had a few little chocolate surprises to give her as well these lovely Roses

... and I had fun wrapping her gifts ...

Like me - she loves chocolate covered marzipan ... and I put a few bars into this cute hanging basket ... this is the same template that I used for this weeks' challenge at CCCB from Creations By AR

This one I printed and cut from white CS and then covered in cream coloured crepe paper

... a little wooden heart covered in paper from Prima The Printery range ...

Strips of ribbons, twill, lace and burlap tied with twine and topped with a shabby flower made from some frayed fabric ... and a gorgeous rose centre ... The colours match her bedroom and I know it will just look so pretty hanging in there ...

... Praline chocolates wrapped in crepe paper and another bundle of shabby strips, a crocheted heart ... a flower from Wild Orchid Crafts ... tied up with natural raffia ...

... and to complete the set, a decorated envelope ... the card you have already seen Here
You know, I think I have converted her to shabby chic ....

Have a lovely day ... I'll be back tomorrow for the  City Crafter Challenge ... I hope you can stop by

    Till soon
