Flourishes Timeless Tuesday ~ FTTC168

I've made a few changes lately ... Sometimes Life calls for that
I love creating, making projects for my Thursday club to assemble ... last week I made 20 exploding boxes with embellishments ... ready for them to put together ... how sweet they looked carrying them home ... and being on Design Teams is a dream come true ...
But with everything else in life ... I was very much lacking in time ... Time to create "just because" ... and little time to enter challenges and support the wonderful blogs who take the trouble to set these challenges.

Having now enlisted help at Thursday club ... Hopefully I will now only have to come up with a project every 4 weeks ... and after 6 years I have stepped back from philosophy class too ...
So with my DT projects up to date ... I was able to just create with no pressure

I'd had this little heart box for ages ... and there she sat ... naked ... just waiting to be adorned ...
At Flourishes Timeless Tuesday ... Silke (who makes the most beautiful cards) has set a challenge to use Pink ...
So pink it is

Papers from Melissa Frances ...

... Rose from Hobbycraft ... trinkets from my box of old and odd bit of jewellery ... Yep, that key and the heart came from earrings ...

Tiny little beads ... I hand stitched onto the lace which I overlaid on satin ribbon

Now she looks much better and I feel better too

Have a lovely day

I lost my Mum 10 years ago ... I miss her so much ... she grew up in London and to me she was a beauty with style
I created this layout using 2 photos taken when she was about 19 ... war time too!

How I love the forties fashion

I added a few little touches of London which is where these photos were taken

Pale blue was her favourite colour ...

I would love it if you would hop over to the Pixie blog and take a look at the lovely projects from the rest of the DT ... there are more to come too ... and you have till the end of May to submit your challenge entries ... I'd love to see what you create ...
Don't forget to pick up a bargain in the Pixie shop too ... Kirsty has a lot of Special Offers on at the moment so please don't miss out ...

Papercraft Star

I am soooo thrilled to be able to tell you that I am on the DT for Papercraft Star!

When I got back from my holiday I received an email from Jan asking if I would like to join the team .. Would I? Wow! I am honoured to be asked to join this group of lovely talented ladies and today I am sharing my very first project for this week's challenge which is to use a stamp ...
This is the inspiration photo for you

Isn't that pretty?

I decided to stamp my own background for a beautiful Image from The House Across The Bay ...

I inked up a stamp from Docrafts - V&A Wildflowers using Memento Desert Sand ... the image from THATB is one of the Victorian Chlidren #228 ... I just love her

I also used a little daisy stamp from Dear Lizzy & American Crafts ... a gift from my friend Cheryl and stamped this with black ink by Impress

The leaves are cut on the Silhouette and the rose is from Hobbycraft ...
Black paper from my supplies and BG paper is Melissa Frances Attic Treasures

A big Thank you to Jan for this opportunity ... and I hope you'll get out your stamps and come join us this week at

Have a lovely day!

City Crafter - Photo Booth

Good morning ...

I'm here to share my project for this weeks' challenge at City Crafter ... hosted for us by our sweet Kirsty ... The challenge she has set for us is to create a project with at least ONE PHOTO on it ... This is the inspiration photo

I thought I'd make a little album for my Aunt ... with some of the photos from her visit here in March ... I didn't want to make it too fancy inside ... I needed it to close neatly so she could just pop it in her bag

This is the outside when it is closed

I painted a little metal frame and glued it on top of this pretty embellishment I had in my box of trinkets
The gorgeous trim is actually sewn onto elastic and came from my lovely friend Jacira ... it was just perfect to hold the album closed

The inside

She was thrilled when I gave it to her

Now it's over to you ... are you up for the challenge?
We have the talented Sylvia Nelson at our Guest Designer this week ... but you too could be joining us one week as Guest Designer ... That's the prize on offer ..
Hop over to the blog for full details and to be inspired by the rest of the team ...

Thank you for stopping by ...

Keep safe

Jingle Belles Rock

Hi ...
I hope it's warm where you are because here in the UK it is a typical Bank Holiday ... cold, wet and windy ... more like autumn than summer ...

I got my card done early this time for the challenge at Jingle Belles which is to use Embossing ...

I used a long neglected TH embossing folder with a brick effect ... I rubbed ink on the folder first before I ran my CS through which gave it this effect and I just had to use those lovely SB dies by Nina Brackett for my house and star ...

The papers were from my scraps and my sentiment is computer generated ... I also added just a touch of flower soft to my house for 'snow'

Ok ... Time for a coffee I think ... I'm so cold!

Have yourselves a wonderful day ... Thanks for visiting me
Till soon

Spaceman and Giants

Happy Sunday ...
It's a beautiful sunny morning here in the UK and it's bank holiday weekend too ...

This week my adorable great nephew Ross celebrates his 10th birthday ... He's into all things 'space' and can tell you every planet in the solar system ... and give facts and figures!
I was hard pushed coming up with a card for him ... so I went with the Space theme

I took an image from the internet for my background and used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out the astronaut ...

I made a flag and added some stars ... I hope he likes it

Before I went away ... here in Liverpool we had a spectacular event ... in commemoration of the 100 years anniversary of the Titanic ...

100 years ago a little girl named May who was 10 at the time ... wrote to her father who had taken a position as a bedroom steward on the ill fated liner ... she lived here in Liverpool in a house that is still standing and occupied ... her letter never arrived ... and her father perished ...
In honour of this ordinary little girl ... we were treated to an incredible 3 days of  a Sea Odyssey ...

A little girl (30ft tall) and her dog woke up in one of our parks

Giant puppets that became so life like

Their eyes were amazing ... and the dogs' antics ... so lifelike

The little girl was looking for her uncle ... and he was looking for her ...
He was a diver who rose incredibly from the river Mersey ... a 50ft giant

Over 3 days the people of Liverpool followed them both on their search ... watching them walk, shower and sleep ...

until they were finally reunited in a tender moment that had the people in tears ...

They hugged and the little girl did a dance of joy ...

The following day the city waved goodbye as they all sailed off together

There are lots of videos on You Tube ... just Google Liverpool Giants and be amazed at the wonderful display ... the incredible feat of the people working these puppets ... swinging like acrobats on ropes ...
The fantastic dance of the little girl ...

And most of all ... enjoy my City

Before I leave you ... please take a moment to look at the picture on the upper left of my blog ... Madeline McCann has been missing for 5 years now ... Her Mum is from my home town ... I can't begin to imagine what it is like for her ... I can but pray that one day she will be found safe and well

Till soon
