Gift Card

Hi there
I hope you are enjoying your weekend ...

The current challenge at Jingles Belles is all about gift cards ... or rather gift card holders ...
It's seems really strange to be making Christmas cards whilst we are having such wonderful weather at the moment ... but Christmas will be upon us before we know it so I am trying to get as many cards done whilst I can ...

I made a little pocket to mimic a gift bag stuffed with tissue paper and attached it to my card

and I'm using the Smirk papers (still) ...

With a stamp from WaltzingMouse ... It's perfect for this don't you think?

This is a great challenge as there is always someone we give a gift card to ... This card is quite girlie ... Maybe I'll make a couple of masculine ones too ...
I just adore the cards Steph, Lauren and Guest Designer Gina have created ... plenty of ideas if you're stuck ...

Till soon

Sunny days and Stars

Hello ... How are you?
We are experiencing really lovely weather here in the UK and I've spent a lovely day with my SIL ... shopping and lunching ...

To be honest it's a bit hot for me ... I've never been a sun worshipper ... and I find it difficult to sleep when it's hot ... but thankfully I was blessed with olive skin so even just a short exposure gives me a healthy glow.
It's funny ... I spent years of torment and bullying at school for having olive skin .... so back then I didn't realise I was blessed ... but now, thank goodness, we live in a multi racial, multi cultural society and I am no longer the butt of jibes ... And ... I get to tan easily!

I have a card to share which I made for a male friend ... using the lovely SB star die from This set by Nina Brackett... nothing too fancy being as it is for a man ...

The background paper is by Eline's Huis and the Birthday paper is a Hero Arts digital stamp from Two peas .... which I altered the colour of in Photoshop to co-ordinate with my choice of paper

The paper I used for the scalloped border (PTI die) and the stars is also a digital "One Year Older" by Karen Funk from Digital House Designs - printed on to heavy weight paper ... that way the embossing on the stars show up more ... Oh and my card stock was just a plain white card but again I used a digital to get a kraft colour ... from Pink Petticoat Organics ... I love this collection and at £1.25 It's a steal!

Right, I'm hoping to eat out in the garden this evening ... I fancy a nice fresh salmon salad with a glass of red wine ... so I'd better get going...
Have a wonderful weekend ... Thanks so much for stopping by

Till soon

Birthdays

Hello
I'm back to share my project for this weeks challenge at Papercraft Star where the theme is Birthday!

We are asked to create a card or gift bag for a birthday and our lovely Featured Star Designer this week,  using a digital image from our sponsor The House Across The Bay  is Sylvia ...

My sweet great niece Sophia is coming up for 3 in June ... my how the time flies ... so this was an opportunity for me to make her card and a little gift bag too ... which no doubt will have something sweet in it ... She just loves animals and often goes with her Nana to the zoo ... she also loves my cat!

The little bag template is from Here and the papers are Prima Annalee from Pixie Dust Paperie

That cute little cat is a 3D sticker from a sheet I bought at Poundland

The hearts were cut on my Sizzix ... stamp is from PaperMania and all the trimmings are from my supplies
My lovely colleagues at Papercraft Star have some dazzling projects for you to be inspired with ... so I hope you will pay them a visit and come and join us this week ...

Well summer has finally put in an appearance here in the UK ... Time for me to grab a coffee and catch a little sun I think ...

Have a beautiful day wherever you are

A Rose Is a Rose

Good morning sweet friends
Today at City Crafter Cheryl is our hostess and she has asked that we create a project with a rose (or roses) on our project and this is the lovely inspiration photo for you

Our sponsor this again this week is the Digital Paper Shop

And again we are using images supplied by Janet ... and you too can win one or two of her lovely images ...
Our talented Guest Designer is Mloda Kobieta ... who makes exquisite projects and cards

Right ... on to my project
I chose to use the lovely vintage tickets for this project

One of the best things about digital images is that you can alter the size to suit your needs and I enlarged this ticket for the front of my project which of course has pretty roses on it ... can you guess what this is? No ... not a notebook ...

It's a candle 'card' with a little pocket that holds that tag
and as you can see I used a smaller version of the ticket for the pocket and the tag...
And so you can see how it looks once the candle is removed ...

Of course I could have used an acetate front and put some chocolates in ... but I went with the candle ... I didn't have a template .. I just kinda made it up as I went

Pink paper and script paper are by Grace Taylor ... and I used a little piece of scrap text paper too

Please take a minute to check out all the DT samples and hopefully you too will be inspired to join us this week at City Crafter ...

Have a beautiful day and thank you for stopping by

Friends and Birthdays

Hi there!
I hope you are all well and looking forward to the weekend ... I have no idea where this week went to and how it's suddenly friday again...

Yesterday my lovely blog buddy Keren came round ... bearing gifts and her usual pretty smile ... And we had a fun few hours together chatting and laughing ...
Those these photos don't really do it justice ... this is a lovely Handmade tote bag she gave me ...

Beautiful fabric in such lush colours

and it's reversible ...

Thank you so much Keren ... I love it!

If you haven't visited my uber talented friend ... you really should ... she has such a unique style and is regularly featured in both Crafts Beautiful and Simply Cards & Papercrafts magazines ...

At the end of this month I have a few friends and family who are celebrating birthdays and anniversaries ... I am trying to get my cards done ready to post and this is one I did for one of my brothers ... he doesn't read my blog so it will be ok to show you ... he is very much into photography hence the theme of this card

This proved quite a difficult card to photograph for some reason ... the mirri card used on the camera and the acetate used on the film strip don't help

The camera, film strip and the saying was cut on the Cameo and I found a photo which I printed several times to slide under the strip ... papers are a mix of Basic grey (striped) and Docrafts Wellington range .... the little book sticker is also from the Wellington range

Have you plans for the weekend? I'm off to Lincoln to see my Aunt ... she not been too well so I'm looking forward to catching up and making sure all is well ...
Have a lovely weekend whatever you are doing ...

Till soon

~ Ros ~
