This week at City Crafter is the last one where we will be showcasing the lovely digital images from our sponsor Digital Paper Shop

I hope you've enjoyed seeing them as much as we have using them

This week our creator Kirsty is hosting for us and has given us the lovely theme of "Coppelia"

asking that we use an image of a ballerina on our projects ... 

Don't laugh but when I was little I always wanted to be a ballerina ... I was about 4 when I asked for 'real' ballet shoes for Christmas ... Boy I was so upset when they didn't have blocks in them .. how my Mum and Dad laughed ... as if I could stand on my toes just like that! 

So it was a pleasure to create this card ... I love the ballet Coppelia and to me ballet is soft and dreamy and full of glitter ... Of course I used one of the images from the Ballerina set by Janet

I even used some muslin and generous helping of glitter on the roses and the muslin

and I think I achieved the look I was aiming for

Our Guest Designer this week is a previous winner at City Crafter and I'm sure you will love her creations as much as we do ... say "Hi" to Tammy

Sunday Blessings

Hello there ....

I've been a bit worn out lately ... so sorry no postings for a few days ... 

But I did make the Jubilee celebration party at Thursday Club ... How it lifts my heart to see the group come alive to the music ... Society calls them "Special Needs" ... But in truth ... all they 'need' is love and each and everyone of them is Special ...
And we were so proud that one of our young men was chosen to carry the Olympic Torch last Friday ...


Someone else who needs their spirits lifting is a sweet and dear friend who has had her fair share of troubles lately and then had her son taken ill with suspected meningitis ... Echos of the past came to haunt her ... Thankfully prayers were answered and he is on the road to recovery ... So this card is for her

I used a beautiful verse from Word Art Wednesday ... my first time playing along with their challenge... even if you don't play along ... pay them a visit ... they have such inspiring verses to share

For design inspiration I played along with the sweet ladies at Jugs who have provided this lovely sketch this week 

I hope you enjoy your Sunday ... It's wet and cool here ... which is such a shame for the Jubilee celebrations ... so many people have put a lot of effort into street parties etc., But a bit of rain never deterred the Brits!

Papercraft Star "Aqua" Challenge

I'm back with you this morning to share my card for this weeks' challenge at Papercraft Star

How lovely is this inspiration photo?

You can pick anything you like as your inspiration ... just as long as your main colour is Aqua

Our Star Designer this week is none other than the lovely Jinny Newlin... She did an amazing job using the lovely digitals from our regular sponsor The House Across the Bay 

I took the opportunity to make a card for some friends who celebrate their anniversary this week

I used a mix of aqua papers ... Elin's Huis, Grace Taylor and Melissa Frances ... and matched up my sewing  thread too

I fussy cut the flowers from some of the Grace Taylor aqua paper and the little sparkly squiggles are just stickers from Poundland ... Man are they fiddly to use .. I bought them for my Thursday club group - they love sparkles but they were just too difficult for them ... they just kept curling up when you tried to stick them lol!

Ticket To Ride

Hi there!

It's Tuesday again and that means another challenge at City Crafter where I am hosting this week ...

My challenge to you is Ticket To Ride ... 

Create a card or project with a mode of transport on it and at least one ticket 

This is our 3rd week with Digital Paper Shop as our sponsor and again I am using some lovely vintage tickets from Janet ...

I am thrilled to tell you that we have Sylvia Nelson as our Guest designer too!

I made this card to send to my Aunt ... it would have been my uncle's birthday on the 27th and we do miss him ...

My Aunt had an adult bicycle like this ... and she and my Uncle adored each other ... so this image is just perfect ... again I altered the size on one of the beautiful tickets by Janet

The background paper is digital by Vinnie Pearce ( Art Corners) and the bicycle is also digital from Marks papers (Birds blooms and bikes) ... and the dottie paper is from Melissa Frances ... Attic Treasures ...

The ticket on the tag is also by Janet at The Digital paper Shop and the stamp is Waltzingmouse

Happy Birthday Kirsty!!!

Yes today my sweet and lovely friend Kirsty is celebrating her birthday ... 

I sent her card and gift a while ago and I know she already has them ...

Gift Card

Hi there

I hope you are enjoying your weekend ...

The current challenge at Jingles Belles is all about gift cards ... or rather gift card holders ... 

It's seems really strange to be making Christmas cards whilst we are having such wonderful weather at the moment ... but Christmas will be upon us before we know it so I am trying to get as many cards done whilst I can ...

I made a little pocket to mimic a gift bag stuffed with tissue paper and attached it to my card

and I'm using the Smirk papers (still) ... 

With a stamp from WaltzingMouse ... It's perfect for this don't you think?

This is a great challenge as there is always someone we give a gift card to ... This card is quite girlie ... Maybe I'll make a couple of masculine ones too ...

 I just adore the cards Steph, Lauren and Guest Designer Gina have created ... plenty of ideas if you're stuck ...
