Hexagons

Good morning!
I'm here to share my project for this weeks challenge at City Crafter Challenge Blog...

You've been Hexed!

Cheryl is our host this week and the challenge she has set is to use a hexagon(s) on our projects ...
These certainly seem to be the new 'thing' on the crafting circuit and they look so pretty ...
I always think of maths when I think of hexagons ... fortunately I liked maths ...
Here's what I came up with

Not too sure if you can make out that the box is a hexagon ... kind of hard to photograph

The lovely paper was a gift from my sweet friend Keren

... both the box and the hexagon overlay were cut on my Cameo ... and the roses are made by me

We are lucky to have the fabulous Lauren Bergold guesting for us for the next few weeks so please hop over and check out her project and those of the rest of the DT.
Full details of the challenge and the prize on offer are also on the City Crafter blog ... I hope you will be inspired to join us ... we'd love to see what you create!

I'm also linking this to the challenge at Moxie Fab World where there is a hooked on Hexagon Challenge too

Have a beautiful day ...

Masculine cute

I'm almost afraid to say it ... We have sunshine ... Yay!
Ok so it's only expected to last till the end of the day ... but it's such a welcome change ... and hearing the birds singing once again is so lovely on a Sunday morning ...

I have a card to share that I made for a friends partner ... it was his birthday yesterday

I discovered these gorgeous digital papers at Two Peas ...
They are by Chrissy W  ... a mini kit called Quitetude ... lovely shades of blue and kraft ... perfect for a male card
The birthday stamp you've seen before ... HA also from Two Peas and with a little work in Photoshop ... I was able to match the colour text to the paper

I hand cut some ties which I hung from a little metal hanger and die cut some stars and buttons using SB by Nina Brackett (Home sweet home).
Every time I call to see my friend ... her partner sits reading the papers so I had this little sticker of the teddy reading the papers and I thought it was just perfect ... I know it kinda makes it a cutsie card but maybe not overly so ... what do you think?

Have a wonderful Sunday ... thanks so much for stopping by and for all your lovely comments

Till soon

Photo overload

Ok ... so I'm really getting a little fed up of the rain now ...

The flowers are bending under the weight of it all

Everywhere is lovely and green

... but wet... thank goodness for the tumble drier!

So I'm off to Cadiz ... want to come? only by photo and memory of course ...
We visited there on a Sunday so the streets were pretty empty

because everyone was heading for the beach

and what a beautiful beach ... the temperature was in the 90's

We took a tour bus ... so some of these photos are not so good

The city of Cadiz is full of beautiful architecture

... and an amazing cathedral which has this dome on top ... with gold tiles

It can be seen from miles away and it was done this way so that the ships from America would see it and be guided into port .... Many of the buildings had lookout towers (4 on this building) which again were to see the merchant ships from overseas

The cathedral stands on one side of a square where we stopped for coffee

... then took a stroll through the little cobbled streets to another beautiful part

This beautiful building practically faces the sea and is surrounded by apartments on one side and pretty bars on the other ( look at those lamps!)

I want one of these apartments!

... Cadiz is a lovely lovely city ... clean and pretty with amazing buildings and history ... even Roman ruins ... and I was very taken by the lamps!

Have a lovely day

Pinwheels and CR84FN challenge

I've been making pinwheels ... lots of them ... gathering buttons, ribbons, embellies and cutting out lots of gift bags too... Tonight is our last craft night at Thursday Club ... next week they have their party and then finish for the Summer break ...
So I decided this week we will make cards and gift bags with pinwheels on ... it is a great way to use up scraps ... as long as each piece is about 3" square ... They are easy peasy ... but my group have co-ordination problems so they will be ready made for them to assemble everything. I have a gift for each of them to put in their bags too ...
I used some left over SU paper to make a few more for the colour challenge at CR84FN
This is the colour palette

and here is my set

I made 4 pinwheels and just doubled them up for this project and used a plastic straw to stick them to

Picked up this new Papermania stamp the other day too

The kraft coloured card was originally white cardstock and I used Pink Petticoat's digital Organics to get that nice shade which I cut with a PTI scalloped die
Flowers and ribbons are from my stash and I used the Cameo to cut the bags ...

I love these colours ... so bright and cheerful and the talented ladies at CR84FN have made some wonderful samples for our inspiration ... hop over and take a look

Ok so I still have lots to do ... more birthdays and anniversaries are looming ...

Thanks so much for visiting ... have a beautiful day

Papercraft Star

Hello!
Well it's far from hot here in the UK but the challenge this week at Papercraft Star is
Hot Hot Hot
This week we want you to include a Sun on your project

I haven't seen the sun for a while now ... just lots of rain but I did manage to create a cheerful summer card all the same

my sun is just peeking through the clouds

I hand cut a kite from some self adhesive fabric from Hobbycraft... Stamped a few little beach huts and coloured them with distress stains ...
The border and the clouds are cut from PTI dies and the sun and sentiment are digital images

If you want to see what my lovely team mates have come up with ... hop over to the Papercraft Star blog ... We'd be delighted to have you join us this week ... Our winner and runner up as always will receive digital sheets from our sponsor THATB

Hope you are having a lovely day wherever you are

Stay safe

City Crafter Recipe Card Challenge

It's a brand new challenge at City Crafter today and Linda is hosting for us ...
She is asking for us to "Make a Recipe Card"...

Such a lovely inspiration photo

I had intended to go down the shabby / vintage route ... but something else developed and I made an apron card with my 'recipe' card in the apron pocket

Using a Hero Arts digital stamp ..  recipe for friendship

This week we have the amazing Lauren Bergold Guest Designing for us and once again we are offering a GD spot to our winner ...
I can't wait to see what you come up with for this challenge ... I'm heading off to the blog to check out the rest of the projects ... care to tag along?

Till soon my friends ... have a lovely day and thanks for stopping by
