Inchies

Good Morning ...

I'm hosting the challenge at City Crafter this week and I have chosen Inchies as your quest
What we want to see is either 1' or 2' squares on your projects

Our Guest designer this week is our winner from week 122 ... Lisette Baker ... and this week we are offering another GD spot to our winner ... Hop over to the blog to see full details and to check out all the samples from the DT

Ok ... so on to my card

Background paper is from Astrid ... and I then cut four 2" squares from some paper by Grace Taylor which I stamped over using  2 different stamps from Kaisercraft

I made a little tag and cut a small butterfly from the same Grace Taylor paper and a used bird stamp (don't remember where from) together with a stamp from WaltzingMouse Fancy Phrases ...

I confess that this is one of my favourite cards ... It's already with my friend who lives in Scotland and celebrated her birthday this week ...

I hope you will be inspired to join our challenge at City Crafter ... we were blown away with all your entries last week!

Just have fun and enjoy your day ...

Till soon

Denim ...

Hi there ...
I hope you are having a good start to the week ... Thanks so much for your well wishes ... I'm still not feeling 100% but I'm no worse so that's a good thing .. I think it's a just head cold

So I have a card that I did for 2 different challenges ... I used the Sketch from this week's challenge at

... And I used the colours from the new challenge at

The DT at both these challenge blogs have terrific samples ... definitely worth a visit

I did a masculine card ...

Everything I used I have had for the longest time ...
The BG paper is from a Hot Of The Press Pad ... The wooden frame paper is from the Paper Boutique
and I used one of the WaltzingMouse stamps "Text It" to stamp a background behind those pockets

The pockets are from a digital file I got years ago by Gina Jane ... they are so cool ... they really look like fabric!

I cut some stars from the denim paper and attached them with some star brads ... those little brown metal dots that you find on the corner of your jean pockets (bet you're looking now) I replicated using sequins
I also added some stitching to the pocket tops and on my card ... and used a another WaltzingMouse stamp, a sentiment from "Fancy Phrases"
Hopefully I have also kept within the colours for CR84FN too

Ok ... I will be back in the morning - I'm hosting this weeks challenge at CCCB ... See you then

Have a lovely evening / Day

Next Card ...

Hello again ... I have 2 posts this morning ...
This is my 3rd Christmas card for the Jingle Belles "Postal" challenge ... please scroll down to see the others ...
These last two are using freebies from Astrid's Artistic Efforts ... perfect for this week's prompt

I just used part of one of the postcard freebies for this (the little boy) ... together with a scrap of MME paper that I've been holding onto for the longest time

I just love MME paper and this little reindeer is delighted to share the sparkle

Kinda looks like the reindeer just sprang right across the path of the little boy huh?

So there we go ... 3 cards for Jingle Belles this week ... and not on the last minute either ... Can you tell I loved this prompt?
I now have 24 cards in my box and I just know I will use these postcards to make a lot more ...

Have a wonderful weekend ...

More Christmas Cards

Hi there ... I hope you are having a great start to the weekend ...
I'm still feeling rough but the sun is shining so that always helps

After making my card for the Jingle Belles challenge ... I saw that sweet Astrid had posted some more beautiful freebies on her blog ... I didn't need any more encouragement to create another 2 cards with the postal theme ...
So I can link them both up to Jingle Belles I will do them in 2 separate posts ...
First up is this one using one of Astrid's freebies

The postcard is the freebie and I backed it onto some pretty MF paper

Love this postcard ... it's just so pretty

It's just a simple card ... I added a small piece of lace from The Ribbon Girl  a glittery tree from Hobbycraft  and a little bit of sewing ... I reckon I could make quite a few of this design

Thanks for stopping by

Christmas Postcard

Hello and good morning to you ...
Not feeling too well this morning ... but I don't have to be anywhere so I can just rest a bit ...

The Jingle Belles prompt this week is Going Postal ... you can read all the details on the Jingle Belles blog and see the lovely samples by Stephanie and Lauren ...

I just adore anything "postal" so this one was more a choice of what to use and which way to go ...
This is what I finally came up with ... A pocket card

Those lovely images are by Iralamija ... I love her vintage images
and I used a couple of postal stamps too

I literally just inked up the part of the stamp I wanted to use ... i.e. postcard

The 'carte postale' I did on my computer straight onto the digital paper ... the pocket was cut on my Cameo

Ribbon, twine and button are from my supplies and the pretty lace is from The Ribbon Girl

My Christmas card box is now getting quite full and I have to say that these pocket ones are my most favourite.

Have a wonderful day and a beautiful weekend

A Great Injustice

I try to keep this little blog of mine free of political issues ... It's my diary ... My footsteps in life
But yesterday marked a very special day for the people of my City ... After 23 years - Vindication came from a tragedy that should never have happened nor be repeated ...

It started out one sunny day in April 1989 ... Our home team Liverpool FC were playing a cup tie match in the now famous Hillsborough stadium ... Thousands of people from my city travelled to Sheffield ... Fathers and Sons ... Mothers, Sisters and daughters ...
96 of them never came home again ... and of the people that were there... the survivors ... their lives and countless other lives were changed forever .....

For 23 years the families of the victims have fought for truth, for justice ... using money donated to them ... whilst for 23 years the Political system and the Authorities used tax payers money to dispel and refute any responsibility for the tragedy ... Claiming the fault lay with the football fans ...
To add to the anguish of the families and survivors ... a british newspaper printed the most vile stories about the fans and the victims ... claiming it to be the truth ... I cannot even repeat the words they wrote.

Time moves on ... Government leaders change, The higher echelons of the police authorities retire ... and FINALLY an independent enquiry of experts from every conceivable area, do an in depth study of all the documents ... The result of which came out yesterday ...
The Prime Minister gave an outstanding speech ... apologising unreservedly for the gross injustice, the lies and the unbelievable cover up from the highest level which have tormented this City, the victims families and friends and not least of all the victims themselves

I listened all day to the harrowing words ... The admissions of guilt ... the apologies. Thousands of innocent men women and children were herded into a caged pen of minute proportions to the amount of people ... the doors locked behind them ... their screams ignored as many were slowly being crushed to death ...
One of the hardest things to hear, was that more than 40 ambulances with paramedics and life saving equipment on board were held outside the ground ... not allowed to go in and offer assistance ... Had they have been let in ... more than 40 lives could have been saved ...
The football fans themselves became the heros, the rescuers, fighting to tear down hoarding to use as stretchers ...
dragging people to the safety of the pitch ... many performing CPR ... It is only fair that I point out that of the few Police and St Johns Ambulance who were able to help ... they did so valiantly

Of just over 160 statements - 116 had been falsified / amended to remove any blame from the authorities ... The same authorities that did a police check on every victim in order to besmirch their character... that even conducted blood alcohol levels on dead children ... The authorities that refused parents permission to even hold or touch their dead children ...

The catalogue of errors and cover ups from the highest levels are beyond belief ... At Liverpool Cathedral yesterday, where a special ceremony was being held for the tragedy ... people fainted as they listened to the sheer enormity of the cover up

There are many photos on the web of the tragedy unfolding ... harrowing and disturbing ...
But for now at least the TRUTH has come out ... Justice will hopefully follow ...

Most importantly
Last night ... for the first time in 23 years .. the victims could finally
"Rest In Peace"
