Make it a Happy Day

Good morning from a cold and wet UK
The new challenge at Papercraft Star begins today which is to use
Grey and Yellow on your cards or projects ...
This is the lovely inspiration photo

Oh to have a room like this ... I'd invite you all over for tea!

So I mention to you in This post ... that today's card would be very similar ... even though it was made weeks ago for a friends' birthday ... And though Grey and yellow would not normally be my 'go to' colours, I just love them together! So thanks to Jan for this challenge

How I love banners ...
This was created using digital papers by Agnes Biro and Jen Allyson

... And do you see that I threaded my machine with silver thread? I really like the effect if gives to the card ... I used a punch for those little hearts and made use of the positive and the negative

The sentiment is also a digital by Deena Rutter (A kind word) .. a few rhinestones, a rose and some burlap threads complete the card ...

Usually I only make one of a kind when it comes to cards (except for Christmas cards ... when I may do a few similar)... but my SIL came over and saw this and wanted one the same to send to her friend ... so I made another one ... and I'm still not tired of these colours ...

Please take a moment to pop over to the blog and check out the lovely creations from the rest of the DT and get out your greys and yellows and come and join us this week.

In case you wonder where I get these digitals from Here is the link for you ...

Have a beautiful day ... Thanks for visiting me and stay safe

Stars and Sparkles

Hi there ..

Well last night was Guy Fawkes night in the UK ... so lots of stars and sparkles to be seen.
Personally I think fireworks should be banned with the exception of professional displays.... The noise we have endured every evening over the last week is horrendous! They sound like bombs going off and my heart goes out to all the animals (and people) who are terrified! My huge German Shepherd was always so scared she would try to sit on my lap whenever she heard them ... It's not fun at all!

This week it's my turn to host at the City Crafter Challenge Blog
and the challenge I have picked for you this week is to use a Star(s) and some Sparkle on your projects  (the pretty variety ... not the noisy!)
I know you will all be getting into the Christmas mode right now but your project does not have to be Christmas related ...

Here's the inspiration photo for you

and my card

There are a lot of birthdays coming up and this card is for one of my Brothers

I used a Sizzix die to cut these stars and used both the positive and the negatives on the card

... Glitter paper for 2 of the stars and a wavy glitter stick on covers my sparkles ...

I hope you will take a moment to check out the projects on the blog from the rest of the team - We have the lovely Lynnda Hosni with us again this week ... And our winner will be offered a Guest Designer Spot with us ...
Look forwards to seeing your creations ...

Have a lovely day

Happy Foreverness

Hello there ...
I hope you had a good weekend ...

I have a card that I made for 2 challenges ... I used this lovely sketch

... from Kathy's Waffle Sketch File ... my first time playing here ...

... And this gorgeous colour palette

From CR84FN

My card is for my brother and SIL's upcoming wedding anniversary ...

I went with some digital papers by Agnes Biro called ''Drowsy" from Design House Digital
and used my Sizzix to cut a rolled rose from some cream felt ... along with a few little hearts using up the offcuts...

The stamp is from my favourite WaltzingMouse set "Fancy Phrases" and I embossed it with silver embossing powder

Now if you pop back on Wednesday, you are going to see another card similar to this one ... well, very similar ...
See - I work in advance with DT projects and as I am going to be away for a few weeks in December ... I have all my projects finished up to the end of this year ... It just so happened that the new challenge at Papercraft Star on Wednesday uses more or less the same colours and I made it weeks ago .. but being as there is a colour difference and I had this paper over ... I got the opportunity to make this card.

I wish you a beautiful day and thank you for your lovely comments which I really appreciate ...

Many Thanks for stopping by

Feeding time

Good morning!
I hope you are well ...

I don't have anything creative to share with you today ... So I am going to share a few photos of the little guys and gals that turn up here at my door every day and night for feeding ...

First up the night time feeders ....

Mr & Mrs Prickles

Excuse the photos ... they are such a shy pair ... they run like crazy when the outdoor light is activated
So I had to take this in the dark behind glass

Then there are the daytime feeders ... Meet Ginger ... a little guy who turned up over a year ago in rather a poor state ... He likes to be free, but with a lot of love and some good food inside him ... he's really improved in size and health ... even his coat has grown back

Then of course there are the gatecrashers ... they are well looked after but think it's ok to call for dinner here too ...
This is Teddy ... aptly named don't you think?

At the last count she has 5 homes she regularly visits ... She loves to come in and play with my cats toys ... or a ball of silver paper!

Macy

This cat is nasty! She is the reason Gipsy left home ... but she comes here everyday

And of course you remember this guy

I took this photo this morning ... he was letting me know he was around and got some nuts for his trouble ...
They all keep my busy - especially when they all turn up at once!

I also want to say Thank you to my lovely friends ... Kirsty and Linda ...
Linda sent me this lovely card

Isn't that pretty!

And Kirsty sent me these ... They are so lovely

Thanks so much to you both

My hubby has gone off to London to catch up with his brother ... they are going to a football match together tomorrow ... I am relishing a couple of days of doing what I please

Have a lovely weekend ...

Till soon

Tea and Sympathy

Hello sweet friends ...
I've been closely following the news on hurricane Sandy ... and I confess to shedding tears as I took in the devastation. My heart goes out to all of you that have been affected. I have many blog friends out that way and one of my dearest friends ... someone I grew up with here in the UK ... lives in New Jersey
... I hope and pray you are all ok...

Wednesday as always is a new challenge at Papercraft Star and this week the challenge is
A Warm Beverage
This is your inspiration photo

I made a little card and gift for one of the ladies at church who is not feeling too well -
Why not grab a cup of your favourite beverage and relax for a moment whilst I show you ...

The beautiful tea cup and saucer image came from a notelet ... I just scanned it in

I used some of the Aida fabric which I frayed and stitched the image straight on to it with some sparkly lace either side ... The sentiment was computer generated
The butterflies are my favourite digital ones and you can see some Perfect Pearls both on the butterflies and the tea cup

The little bag was made much the same ... using the Aida fabric and a doily under the image
As you can see I added a little glassine bag with some speciality tea bags tucked inside

I know my team mates have made some lovely cards to inspire you ... So I hope you will take a minute to visit the Blog and join us this week

For those of you who celebrate Halloween ... I hope you have a wonderful time ...

Thank you so much for visiting today ...
Keeping you in my thoughts and my prayers

City Crafter Challenge

Hello and Good Morning to you
I really hope you are all safe and well ...
I know the east coast of the USA has severe weather conditions and my thoughts and prayers are with you all ...

Today at City Crafter we have the lovely Linda hosting for us and the challenge she has picked is
3+1=Cute
You must use 3 patterned papers and 1 solid colour on your project

This challenge was another great way to use up scraps ... I am loving anything with fish tail banners lately and can't stop using them ...

These were made with 2 different papers from Melissa Frances
My 3rd patterned paper is the dottie background ... (no idea where this is from)

... and the solid colour is a digital paper by Jen Allyson

We have a special month long Guest Designer starting this week at City Crafter... A lady many of you will already be familiar with ... the talented Lynnda Hosni ... so I hope you will pop over to see her project along with the rest of our DT.

Thanks to all of you who support our challenge ... every week we are thrilled to see your creations.

I hope you have a lovely day ... Thank you for your lovely comments and for stopping by today ...

Till soon
