Gifts Galore

Happy Sunday sweet friends
Finally the decorations are down and things are getting back to normal ...
We have been experiencing quite mild weather for this time of year ... Ok, so it's cold ... but not freezing and that's a bonus ... I even have daffodils popping up!

I don't have anything crafty to share today ... I need to work on a project for Thursday club which starts this week ... But I'd like to share some lovely gifts and cards I got for Christmas from some equally lovely blog friends ...

This came from the talented Charlene ... how I love her cards and I have some lovely bling to play with now!

This is from my dear friend Kirsty ... just look at that pretty necklace ... and I think that tiny handmade book is the sweetest ever ... it fits into the palm of my hand

Sweet talented Linda sent me all these ... Lots to enjoy here and I finally get to taste that tea I see so much of on your blogs

And my lovely friend Lauren sent me these .. oh how I love that paper pad ... such fabulous colours

A the way from Brazil ... came this beautiful card from my friend Jacira

... And another gorgeous creation from the very talented and lovely Sylvia

Thank you all very much ... I really appreciate your thoughtfulness and your friendship

Have a beautiful day

Anniversary

Hello everyone ...
It's our wedding anniversary today ... 13 years ago we were in Cyprus where our wedding took place ... and though the sun has put in an appearance today - it's not quite as warm as it was that day.
Because it's been so dull here ... photographing anything is a trial but I do have a card to share that I made for my DH

I'm loving the colour blue at the moment ... hence the stamping and papers
and I love texture, banners and anything postal

... so I guess this has all the things I love ... just glad my husband was happy with it too haha!

I'm slowly getting my mojo back and getting into the swing of things ... which is no mean feat considering that I seem to be moving from one problem to another ... I am convinced that I was never meant to have a peaceful life ... but when family need you ... you have to be there... and the upside is that I got to be with sweet Sophia today which was lovely ...
My that little girl has grown ... and today she said I was her best friend ... Makes everything worthwhile! And I'm happy to report that my Aunt is still doing well too.

Tonight DH and I are off to our favourite restaurant for a celebration dinner ... I'm looking forward to it ...

Enjoy your evening too

Papercraft Star

Hi there!
I hope you all enjoyed your New Year's Day
DH and I took a drive and ended up at Debenhams where I spied a couple of lovely coats ... Thing was I just couldn't make up my mind which to have ... So my hubby decided to buy them both for me!
I have a birthday coming up and we also have our wedding anniversary in a few days so they are my gifts ... Lucky me!

I'm here today to share my DT project for Papercraft Star ... well this week we are actually sharing our best Papercraft Star project of 2012 ...
I only joined the lovely ladies on the Design Team in May of 2011 and to pick one project from the countless challenges Jan has set for us was really hard ... In the end I settled for the project I made for challenge 119 which was a Warm Beverage... The original post is Here

I remember feeling stumped when it came to this challenge ... But as it turned out it gave me the opportunity to make a card and gift for a friend at church who was going through a rough time ... and you know we Brits Always drink tea ... especially in a crisis ... we say "I'll put the kettle on .... " whenever anyone calls or wants to talk ...

I know that my friend really loved this little set ... But most of all it cheered her no end to know I was thinking about her ... sometimes when things are bad we can feel abandoned even though we are not

So I guess that's why I chose this project ... because I know it helped someone to feel better ...

So what was your best project of 2012? Do you want to share it with us at Papercraft Star ?because we would love to see it ...
Don't forget to take a look at the Papercraft Star blog to see which projects my sweet team mates have chosen too ...

Have a beautiful day

Happy New Year!!

First off let me wish you all A very
Happy and Healthy 2013
May you find peace and happiness follow you ...

I am late with this post ... I promise it is not going to be this way for the rest of 2013 ... Apart from being totally lost with the days ... There have been some family issues to deal with which I could not turn away from ... I am praying for wisdom and guidance so that these problems can be resolved ...

Today of course starts the first challenge of the year for City Crafter .. and quite fittingly our creator Kirsty is hosting for us ...
Kirsty is asking that we include a vintage boy and girl on our projects

I don't usually work with these images so at first I was a little stumped ... but then I found a gorgeous image on the web that inspired me to create this card

The BG dottie paper is from from a lovely pad by MME Lauren sent me and I used some of my scraps and sewed them together with silver thread to compliment the blues and greys in the image

Prima flowers and a little clock together with some lace and pearls just complete the look I was going for ...

I am going to send this card to a blog friend overseas who sent me a beautiful Christmas card ...

I hope you will hop on over to the City Crafter blog to check out the projects from the rest of the DT and be inspired to join us this week ... My dear sweet blog friend Jacira is our Guest Designer ... she has the most delicate and whimsical style that I just know you will love ... Please say "Hi" to her

All that's left for me to say is to wish you a beautiful New Years Day and to thank all of you who have followed me and taken the time to leave me such lovely inspiring comments throughout the year... I treasure your friendship ...

Till soon

Beautiful Birthday

There are quite a few celebration coming up in the next few weeks ... As you know it was my son's birthday yesterday and tomorrow New Years Eve my friends' daughter celebrates her 25th birthday ... My friend had given up hope of ever becoming a mother ... when 16 years after she married along came her beautiful daughter ... We both know how blessed we are to have been given the chance of motherhood that one time ...
This is the card I've made for that special daughter

TH embossing folder ... Memory Box border die ... prima flowers and papers from Prima and Grace Taylor

I found a whole box of those pretty glittered metal frames in my cupboard would you believe ...
My sentiment is computer generated and the lovely ribbon is from The Ribbon Girl

Have you plans for New Year Eve celebrations?? We will be going to a dinner dance at my husband golf club ... New Year Eve is always quite difficult for me ... it's the day I lost my Mum and the years have flown by ... At the time you just wonder how you will get through the next day ... and before you know it ... 10 years have gone by

Have a wonderful day - glad you could stop by

Make a Wish

Hello sweet friends ...
How are you?
I am on the mend ... I was able to cook our Christmas dinner and it was such a lovely day ...
I am taking things easy as I know I am not back to full health yet ... This is the second bout of flu I've had in as many months ... But it seems that in 2013 I qualify for the flu jab ... so here's hoping I wont catch it again for a while ...

Tomorrow is a special day ... my beautiful son reaches 30 ... I can hardly believe it ... seems only yesterday he was a little boy ..  full of life and constantly on the go ... I've watched him change from a blond little bundle of energy ... to a tall dark handsome young man and every memory is etched on my heart ...
This is the card I made for him....

I stamped a Happy Birthday sentiment in Versamark and embossed it using clear embossing powder onto black paper ... backed it with paper from PaperMania ...

I rolled some little candles with some scrap paper and added string for the wicks ... The sentiment is computer generated and the bow I cut by hand ...

You know he loves his cats ... Gipsy and our new addition Ginger ... so I had to add these little guys to the inside

The weather here is so very dull and drab ... miserable is probably the right word ... I am so looking forward to Spring ...

Have yourselves a wonderful day ... Thanks so much for all your lovely comments

Till soon
