Getting Messy

Hello
How's your weekend been?
We've had snow and it's very cold but we braved the weather last night and went off to the golf club where they were doing an
A La Carte evening ...
It was delicious and I was so full!
You should have seen the sweet trolly! Even though I was full I just had to have something ... a delicious cream meringue with strawberries ... but I did pass on the cheese and biscuits ...

Thursday evening with my group was such fun ... they all loved making their cards and Easter bags and I was so tired when I got home but one happy bunny!

So today I have been getting messy ... After seeing a tutorial Here I thought I'd try my hand at mixed media ... Ok ... please be kind ... this is my first attempt at one of these and I have debated about sharing ... here goes

I know it's far from perfect but hey I had fun

I used just about everything I could find ... and maybe I went too far ... Is it too busy?

The next one will be better ... I hope!

Have a lovely day/evening

Till soon

Easter Preparations

Easter is less than 2 weeks away ...
I remember as a little girl getting a new pretty cotton dress and new sandals for Easter
As I remember it ... Easter Sunday was always sunny ... warm enough to walk to church in a cotton dress and crisp white ankle socks
Maybe it's because Easter is early this year ... but it sure is cold here still!

Tonight at Thursday Club my group are looking forward to making Easter cards ... Being as they are all either physically or mentally challenged (or both) ... I always need to come up with something that looks not too babyish (they are all 18 - 60+) but that they can just assemble ... It can take a few days I can tell you!

So we are going to make popup cards something like this...

All the cards and inserts are cut ready to assemble ... the embellishments done .. some bought some printed and cut and of course lots of bows hand tied ...

And what is Easter without an Easter bag?

... and more embellishments - I think I could tie bows in my sleep!

And I couldn't forget these guys ...

... But what good would a bag be without treats to put in?

Yes the important ingredients!
I have catered for just over 20 ... but I always carry extras just in case ...

See you when I've recovered ...

Keep safe

Sweet little Birds

Good morning!

Our challenge at Papercraft Star this week is Birds

We just want to see a bird or birds on your project ...

It may still be like Winter here but the birds are more than hopeful that Spring is just around the corner ... As dawn breaks they are in full song and busy throughout the day ... The Magpies are already building nests in the trees beyond my garden ... not that they are my favourite birds ...

So, on to my card ... which I made for my Aunt's 86th birthday last week

I love that K&Co image ... so Spring like

... and glittery

The ladies at Papercraft Star are really looking forward to seeing your creations so please come and join us
Here's a link to the Blog so you can check out the rest of the DT projects and please be sure to read the rules

I'm busy with the Easter projects for my sweet group so I'll catch up with you soon

Have a beautiful day

Chronology

Happy Saturday!
Don't the days just go so fast?
When I had to go out to work the days dragged and the weekends flew... bet it's still the same for lots of you ...

I have a more masculine card to share ... No pink in sight!

This chronology stamp came free with the Do Crafts Creativity magazine and I paired it with the Time stamps from PTI ...
I embossed the stamp with two colours ... black and copper ... not sure if you can see this

To get this effect I stamped the image in Versamark and tore a scrap of paper to mask off part of the image and poured black embossing powder on ... shook it off and then poured copper powder on ... then just heat set ... it gives a really nice effect

All the papers are from my scraps ... there's some MME paper from the Little Black Dress range in there

I hope you enjoy your weekend ... Thanks for stopping by today

Till soon

More Pink ....

Hello ...
How are you?
It's nearly the end of another week ... how quickly the days fly by
Yesterday I was out to lunch with my GF's ... another birthday celebration!
I needed to find a box for her gift and then decorate it ... That led onto a card and well, here we go ... using pink again can you believe it?

That pretty paper is from the En Francais range by Prima available at Here for all my UK friends
and I used some new Washi tape ... the pink striped one bought Here

The stamps are by PTI, that sweet butterfly border is a Memory box die and the flower is from Here

I always save boxes ... they are fun to recycle and decorate when a birthday comes around
The tiny butterflies are the remains from the border die

It's bitterly cold here again ... I could really do with some warmth ... I dread the heating bill when it comes in!

Have yourselves a lovely day and thank you for stopping by

Till soon
