Lace & Polka Dots

Hello there

Today's the day my Aunt has her hip replacement and I can hardly wait to hear that it's done and that she is fine ... I passed on your best wishes and she asked me to thank you all for thinking of her ... I thank you too ...

Well it's also a new challenge at Papercraft Star today and this week it's ...
Polka Dots & Lace!

I'm not sure I'm happy with this card ... I did it a while ago ... and looking at it now ... well, I'm not sure

The grey background dot paper is a digital from Pink Petticoat and the aqua coloured one is from a Tim Holtz paper pack

The bow is made from paper ... it looks like raffia when you buy it - all folded ... so I gently unfolded a piece and tied a bow and added some little flowers, lace and a border of bling

Perhaps it will look better with a sentiment but I generally hold back until I know who it's going to ... then put something appropriate ... Still it does look Spring like and cheerful

I'd love to see what you come up with ... I hope you'll come and play along with us ...
I'm off to the Blog to see what my lovely team mates have come up with ... won't you join me?

Till soon

Spring Has Sprung ....

... Well at City Crafter it has ... It's still quite cold here

Our lovely hostess this week is Charlene who has provided us with this lovely photo

... and is asking that we make a project using the colours in the picture
Pink, Blue, Green and Brown

I have to say my card only has a teeny little brown flower but nevertheless it's there

My best friend celebrated her birthday yesterday and this card was for her
The papers are by Papermania and the banner was made from
'left overs' from a previous card

You can see that the paper has a lovely texture ... it looks like fabric

And I got all the colours in with the little posy and twine

We are so lucky to have Bligu designing with us again this week as she also won challenge week 151
Please stop by the blog to see her beautiful creation and that of our other designers ...

We're all looking forward to seeing what you come up with this week ... and once again the winner will have a Guest spot with us at CCCB ...
Have fun!

Thank you for stopping by - keep safe

50th Birthdays

Hello ...
Happy Saturday!

We've been invited to a friends 50th Birthday party tonight ... I showed you the card I made here and yesterday we got another invite ... also to a 50th Birthday party ... but this time for a male friend ...
Fortunately for me I just received the lovely MME Be Amazing paper pad which is just lovely and inspired me to make a card for our male friend ...

Just a little piece of one of those papers ... the lovely hexagon pattern which I cut into a shape - then added some stripped Washi tape and some twine....

The '50' and the stars were cut on the Cameo and the 'Wish Big' stamp is by PTI stamped in Teal Zeal Momento ink by Tsukineko and the 'Enjoy' stamp is by Waltzingmouse

Seems like my mojo is slowly returning ... I even managed to make 2 DT projects yesterday and I did a canvas project for my club last Thursday ... something quite simple for them to assemble

On the news front ... well my sweet Aunt is going to have a hip replacement on Wednesday! Yep, just like that!
Whilst we were away ... DH's cousin had a fall and broke her hip so is also in hospital right now.... Which is a blessing in disguise in lots of ways ... She is more than 10 years younger than my aunt and the total opposite - She is very hard work and not capable of taking care of herself, her home or her finances. We are the only ones who look out for her and anyone who has had to deal with Social Services and stubborn relatives will know just how hard it is and how much stress it can be. Thankfully she is in a safe place ... being looked after and is doing very well ...
The next few weeks are going to be hectic family wise - I'm praying that my Aunt will be fine and praying that my brother and SIl have a happy outcome where Sophia is concerned ... I can't be all places at one time ... God willing I can jiggle things so that I can support them all ...
But first ... a Party to get ready for ...

Have a beautiful weekend ...

till soon

Papercraft Star Challenge

Hello ...
It's a good job I got a few of my DT projects done before I went away ... I am really struggling with coming up with something for the club this week ... my creativity seems to have left me (sigh)...

At Papercraft Star today we have a photo inspiration challenge and I had no problem when I saw this lovely photo

I was smitten with the colours, the soft coloured flowers and of course the beautiful script cushion
This is my interpretation

I love working with neutrals and my DP is a paper from Melissa Frances
I stamped some script onto a similar coloured piece of card and distressed the edges

... added some Broderie Anglaise trim and a sparkly button and made a little posy of roses to add to my ribbon and twine

I really love seeing how people interpret photos in different way ...
At Papercraft Star we are  looking forward to seeing your interpretation so please come and join us this week ... Don't forget to visit the blog and check out the lovely projects from the rest of our designers ...

Thanks so much for visiting me today

Till soon

Every Cloud Has A Silver Lining

Good morning!

Having waded through a mountain of laundry ... restocked the fridge and replenished the cat food supplies ... I am ready for another holiday Lol!

Today I am hosting the challenge at City Crafter and I have given you a sort of double challenge

Someone once reminded me when I was going through some tough times that  "Every Cloud Has A Silver Lining"... Now I always try to look for that silver lining and this card has been in my head for a long time

So I am asking that you use the colours shown

And include a Cloud or Clouds on your project ...

I have no doubt that you can once again Wow us with your beautiful creations ...

Here's my card ... the silver lining is that beautiful flowers grow from the rainstorms

I cut clouds using the PTI cloud die in both silver card, DP and card covered in blue striped Washi tape

The sentiment is computer generated and the stitching is done with silver thread too ... The pink stripe is also Washi tape

The raindrops are made using Glossy Accents and the pretty 'pink' dandelions are a digital stamp from Hero Arts ... I altered the colour in photoshop

I'm sending this to someone I know has been going through a tough time too ...

We have Bligu Guest Designing for us this week ... She is such a talented lady and won our challenge in week 149 ... Please take a minute to visit her blog ... you will love her creations

Don't forget to visit CCCB to see what the other designers have come up with and this week we are offering a GD spot to the winner too ...

I'll be back tomorrow ...

Take care

Starlight Express

Hi there!

I'm back in the UK ... I arrived late last night and I am up to my eyes in laundry!
I need to get the housework out of the way so that I can concentrate on catching up with craft work ... It's my turn to come up with a project at Thursday club too this week and I have a few DT projects to get done ... Ah to be home!

So whilst I sip my coffee take a look at what was waiting for me

My new Blog book ... I have 4 now and I still get excited when I see them

Some new stamps to play with ...

... and a surprise gift from my lovely friend Jan
Thank You Jan!

So all I need is my mojo back ...

I did make this card before I left though ...
Starlight Express

The lovely image is from The Graphics Fairy and I framed it with the negative of a die I used Here

Together with some scrap papers, memory box dies and PTI dies

I shadowed the 'Birthday' die again which gives it a raised texture

I'm linking this to Brag Monday at The Graphics Fairy

Ok ... I have to get on ... Thanks so much for stopping by - I'll be back tomorrow - I'm hosting the new challenge at City Crafter this week ...

Till then have a beautiful day
