Pastel Album

Good morning ...
I hope you are having a good week so far ...

Todays challenge at Papercraft Star has been set by Anitra ... Have you been following her brilliant monthly tutorials on the blog? I'm really enjoying them
This week Anitra is asking us to use Pastels ....

Isn't this pretty!

My post contains quite a few photos as I decided to make a little album using papers from Tilda's card background pad which I picked up at Hobbycraft ... These are really ready folded cards but I like to just use them as papers and cut them up

I used thick acetate from a package box to cover the front and back so there is some reflection on this photo ... the next photos are taken with the cover off so you can see clearer

The stamps on the front came free with 'Creative Stamping' magazine ... there are lots in the set and they are really sweet ... As you can see I paper pieced the little hut in soft pastel patterned paper from the Tilda pad and added it to another of the papers ... together with some plain and some hand painted shells, pearls and trims and a strip of washi tape

A closer shot shows some liquid pearls too

The pages inside were stamped with 2 different stamps by Inkylicious before I adhered some of my favourite photos from Majorca ... here's a peek

This last page is paper from the World Traveller stack by DCWV
Because I used ring binders I can just keep adding more pages to this little album

I really had fun with this and love the pastel shades on the front ... Don't forget to visit the blog for more inspiration and link up your Pastel creations

Till soon

One Stamp - Two Ways

Hello!
How are you all? I haven't posted in nearly a week ... just been busy doing DT projects whilst I still have some inspiration ...
I hope all my friends across the pond enjoyed Mothering Sunday ... We celebrated way back in March ... but I did get to go to a 50th Birthday party on Sunday afternoon and it poured with rain all day which was such a shame as we were hoping to sit outside ... I'm sure everyone had fun just the same ... And of course we had sunshine the next day ... even had hailstones thrown in!
Before I get onto today's DT project ... can I just say a big "Thank You" to Heather and the ladies at Flourishes for my win ... I'm delighted!

Ok ... Today is the start of a new challenge at City Crafter where we have our creator the lovely Kirsty hosting for us with a great challenge

Create 2 projects using the same stamp but in different ways
Please note it MUST be an image stamp NOT a sentiment stamp

I went with the rose stamp from La Blanche ... I've been using this a lot lately
The first card shows the image stamped simply onto white cardstock using Teal Momento ink and the second card shows the image stamped using distress stains spritzed with water

The background paper is from the  Eline's Huis Roses are Red collection and I just added some Washi tape and trims from my supplies

... Here's the second card

One stamp 2 ways
Which do you prefer?

Our Guest designer is the uber talented Colleen Dietrich who won our week 156 challenge with her beautiful card ... I can't wait to see what Colleen and the rest of the designers have created so I'm off to the blog to take a look ... Our winner this week will also have a GD spot with us so get out your stamps and play and don't forget to create 2 cards or projects

Have a beautiful day and I'll be back tomorrow
Thanks so much for stopping by

Let The Sun Shine!

I'm really enjoying the improvement in our weather ... the sun is shining and the trees are gently unfurling their leaves ... suddenly colour is bursting out everywhere!

A few weeks ago, Jan our creator at Papercraft Star asked each of the designers to set a challenge ...
This week's challenge "Let The Sun Shine" is set by our lovely Allisa and it couldn't be more perfect!
Here's the lovely photo Allisa has provided for our inspiration

I made this card before I went away and it came in handy as I sent it to my husband's cousin who is still in hospital ... Just a little sunshine to cheer her up

I think that the Pink Petticoat digital papers were perfect for this card ... I love grey and yellow together ...

My 'sun' is just a circle cut from cardstock which was printed first with the digital paper and then little banners were hand cut and glued around the back of the circle. I used PTI dies for the scalloped border and the 'hello" which I shadowed by cutting it twice ... once from black paper and once from patterned paper then glued them together but slightly offset the top one

The ladies at Papercraft Star are really looking forward to seeing your interpretation so come and join us!

And just to let you know - once the DT challenges are over ... there will be a change to future challenges ... There will be an inspiration photo for you and some suggestions ... but basically every challenge will be photo inspiration ... giving you plenty of scope to show us your amazing creativity ...
All the forthcoming challenges are up on the Blog ... so go take a peek!

Thanks so much for stopping by ... Have a great day and stay safe

Fit for a Princess

Hello ...
I'm back with my DT project for this weeks' challenge at City Crafter where our lovely Wendy is hosting for us ...
This is Wendy's first time at setting a challenge for us and she's come up with a great one ...

Can you guess what it is?
Well, this week Wendy wants us to
Create a project with a Royal theme
Use something to do with Royalty i.e. a crown, queen, prince or princess etc.

At first I was a little stumped with this one but as our little princess Sophia will be celebrating her birthday in a month's time I took the opportunity to make her a card

I included the cat not only because she loves my cat ... but because I thought it looked so regal ... and lets face it ... my cat is the queen of the house!

The little castle is a button I had in my stash ... I just cut the back off and the sweet crown is a charm from The Ribbon Girl

I am also delighted to tell you that our Guest Designer this week is the talented
Diane of Nellies Nest who is also a  a sweet blog friend of mine ... Diane won our week 152 challenge
Please hop over to the blog and welcome her and take a look at the fabulous projects from Diane and the rest of the lovely ladies on the team

I hope you can find time to play along with us this week ... we always love to see what you come up with and our winner will have a Guest Spot with us at CCCB

Thank you for visiting me and I wish you all a beautiful day

Color Splash

Hello there ...
It's bank holiday here and un-traditionally for the UK ... we have had glorious sunshine ... it's been beautiful!
DH and I went out and sat in the sun drinking coffee and then browsed a few shops before he took himself off to play a few holes of golf ... which gave me a little time to make a card!

I haven't entered any challenges for the longest time but I saw that The PlayDate Cafe is having a color splash challenge and I really love them ... even though I don't get to play much I still look in every week and take in the beautiful creations...

So here is the color splash photo

I love the magenta colour ... though I don't have any ink in this colour and sad to say little paper of this colour either ... and I wanted to stamp and paperpiece ...

I first stamped a background with a chicken wire stamp by Inkylicious straight onto my card ...
Then added some dottie Washi Tape

The rose is my La Blanche stamp again and I love how dramatic it looks stamped in black ink ... then came the paper piecing ... the thing is the paper I used only had bit of the magenta in it so I stamped a few times and then just pieced the rose together ... I don't think you can see it but I covered the rose in Diamond glaze too

Two little corner pieces cut with a very old Provo Craft die completed my card and I'm just happy that I got to create today ... especially as the challenge finishes in another day!

I'll be back tomorrow with a DT project ... Thanks so much for stopping by

Have a beautiful evening/day

You're the Best and Liverpool History

Hello ... Thanks for popping in
My Aunt is doing well ... I got to speak to her on the phone this morning and she is walking about and in no pain so as you can imagine I am thrilled!
She recently had the all clear from her oncologist too ... 5 years cancer free ... She's one amazing lady!

In just over a weeks' time ... my great nephew Ross will be celebrating his 11th Birthday ... I really don't know where the time goes ... And you all know how much I love this little guy
Here's a card I made for him

Using those lovely MME papers "Be Amazing"
which is just what he is

I made the balloon using my Cameo and also cut out the numbers
I also used the PTI 'Birthday' die and the stamp ... 'you're the best' was from a set sent to me by my sweet friend Linda Robinson

Last night we went to a local History talk which included dining at the Marc Pierre White restaurant in Liverpool

The food was delicious ... albeit minimal Lol! And the talk was interesting ... We have such an amazing history ... Did you know that we once had a huge castle here?

Castle Street is now the home of the Town Hall but the original moat is still underground  - and like London we too had a "Tower" (of Liverpool) ... Dirty dungeons which are still under the building that now stands in it's place ... Tower Buildings - an office block.
When the excavations began for Tower Buildings around 1856 ... they discovered an oubliette with a perfectly mummified body of a Roundhead soldier...
For many years I worked in the city and never knew what was under my feet ... which was probably just as well!

Have a lovely day
