July

The prompt this week at Our Beautiful World is simply "July"
Now if I taken my photo in the last 3 days ... it would be totally different from the one I took on the 1st July ...
On the 1st July - mid summer in the UK - it was raining ... cool, windy  and not at all promising ... the flowers were blooming but taking a beating from the wind and rain ...

This is the shot I took that morning

You can click to enlarge this and you will notice the raindrop trickling down the pansy leaves
How fresh and green those leaves look though ...

I know that July means something different to other countries around the globe and I'm looking forward to what it means to you ...
Of course across the USA you have celebrations for Independence day ... Canada Day I think is celebrated on the 1st of the month too ...
There are birthdays and weddings ... high days and holidays ...  somewhere it is winter ... somewhere there is raging heat ...
That's our beautiful world ...
So please link up your photos Here and share with us your view of July

And I'll leave you with this shot of  one of our flowers that looks like a beautiful sun ...

Enjoy your day!

Feeling the heat ...

Hello there ...
I hope you've had a good week and to all my American friends ... I hope you had a wonderful 4th July!
Finally we have wonderful weather here in the UK and I think the heat is getting to me ... I'm feeling really tired ...

DH and I are off to Cornwall for a few days at the end of next week so I've been making sure I get all my projects done and sending cards that need to be sent ... one of which is to the husband of a friend of mine ... Here's the card I made

Using those lovely MME Be Amazing papers again and I keep every scrap!
I hope he doesn't find it too ... young?

Well, it's in the post so too late to do anything about it ...

I've just picked up my new glasses today ... my first pair of Varifocals and I can tell they are going to need some getting used to ... But the optician has given me 28 days to try them and if I'm not happy I get my money back ... Can't be fairer than that ...

Before I go I want to show you a few handbags I came across yesterday in a local store ... I did Pin some on one of my Pinterest boards but take a look at these

How cute is that hedgehog?
And if you are a dog lover ... maybe ...

or ...

Yes they are really handbags or purses to my friends in the USA

Maybe you prefer owls

... and you have to love this

They even had a handbag (purse) that was in the shape of the Eiffel Tower!! As soon as I can get a photo I will show you ...
In case you are interested Here's a link to their website

Have yourselves a lovely weekend ...

Till soon

Firework Fun

Hello ...

I wanted to join in the challenge at CASology this week where the prompt is "Fireworks" ... Alas I have no stamps remotely like a firework so it called for a little imagination and some fiddly little pieces of glitter paper

It's just a little fun card which I tried to keep as CAS as possible

I used a background birthday stamp by Hero Arts and then made a firework (of sorts) with a rolled up  piece of scrap paper and then cut tiny strips of glitter paper and slightly curled them

... Just a few stars, a tiny little bit of tinsel and that's it! Oh and the reason it's green is because green were the only stars my Thursday group left me with!
Well I did say it was a fun card!

Have a lovely day

City Crafter Cooling Down

Good morning!
I hope you are well ...
I'm so sorry to read about the terrible fires in Arizona ... and the tragic loss of life of the Firefighters ... My thoughts are with all of you out that way - I do hope you are safe

Today our sweet Wendy is hosting for us at City Crafter ... and has given us a lovely photo for her
"Cooling Down" Colour Challenge

I just had to use the lovely ombre digitals again and my favourite Indigo Blu poppy stamp

I printed the Pink Petticoat Ombre digital "Ocean Breeze" directly onto my cardstock
and stamped the poppy twice ... once in Frayed Burlap distress ink for the stem and leaves and once in Momento Bahama Blue ink for the petals ... to which I added liquid pearls and a large sparkly stone

Both were then layered, hand cut and adhere to my card ... a strip of washi tape a verse stamp by Inkylicious and some more sparkly stones just finish it off

I do hope you'll play along with us this week ... we'd love to see what you create with these lovely colours ... Don't forget to visit the blog to see what the other designers have in store for you

Thanks for stopping by

Till soon

A little bit of Wales

Hello there ... Can you believe it's the 1st July? You wouldn't think so by the weather here ...

How was your weekend?
DH and I went to Wales on Saturday ... it's only about an hours drive and it was really enjoyable ...  This time of year the views are just stunning ...

Green as far as the eye can see, and if you like castles ... Wales has lots of them!

We took in the street market at Mold and stopped for a light lunch ... then drove on to Ruthin ... A place full of history with it's castle and beautiful old buildings ... it's hardly changed since medieval times

Don't you think it's funny seeing the tarmac road and the yellow 'no parking' lines alongside those buildings ...
This large rock is known as King Arthur's Stone

The plaque says that King Arthur beheaded his rival (both in love and war) on this rock - take a look at the building

This is now a bank!
And look at this roof full of windows ...

This is Myddleton Arms built in the 17th Century and known as the eyes of Ruthin

From there we went on to the lovely Betws-y - Coed ...

then Abergele and home ... stopping off to visit my brother along the way ...

Yep, it was a nice weekend

I'll be back tomorrow for the new challenge at City Crafter

Have a lovely day!

Today's The Day!!

Hello!!
I'm really excited because today is the day that
opens and I'm lucky enough to be part of the team

This is NOT a challenge blog ... but a place to share photos
I just LOVE seeing photos on your blogs ... seeing the world through your eyes...
Each one of our team comes from a different part of the world .. we live different lives in different climates
Our creator, my sweet friend Kirsty realised that it would be such fun to share not only our lives but our thoughts in a way ...

Every week there will be a word prompt chosen by one of the team and we all submit a photograph of what that word means to us and we are asking that you join us too!
Please hop over to the Blog for all the details and to see what our team have come up with ...

I would like to point out that I am no expert when it comes to photography and I don't own a fancy camera either ... just an Olympus digital so please don't think that you have to be any sort of expert to join in with us ok?

Our first weeks' prompt was chosen by Wendy ... Her prompt is
"Waking Up"

... And my photo ...

Ha! you know I'm British ... I have to have my cup of tea in the morning!
I love solitude in the morning and time to wake up ... my DH is the opposite ... full of questions and chat ... until I've had my quiet time and tea you approach me at your own risk Lol!

I'm so looking forward to seeing photos from the rest of the team and we would love to see what "waking up" means to you
So grab your camera and have a beautiful day!
