Lace ...

Hello ...
My post this morning is scheduled as I should be on my way back home today from Cornwall ...
Hopefully I will have photos to share with you sometime but today it is week 3 at
Where our creator Kirsty has picked this week's prompt
 "Lace"

Like most of you I have lots of lace in my stash which I try to keep tidy but somehow I am never successful ... It always ends up a jumbled mess in my box ... Not a pretty photo ...
I love pretty lace lingerie ... but I'm not about to share that Lol!
So my photo this week?... Well, something precious to me

These are the little lace shoes worn by my son on his christening day ... which also happened to fall on Mother's Day in March 1983 ...
They fit into the palm of my hand ... now he wears size 11's!

Something else I treasure ...

This beautiful lace top ... made in Paris for my Grandmother probably 60 or more years ago ...
I wore it many times until I could no longer squeeze into it ... It's tiny! What more can I say? Lol!
But it's beautiful ... and still in perfect condition ... things were made well in those days

What comes to your mind when you think of lace? At Our Beautiful World we love to see your photos so come and link up with us ....

Till soon

Packing my Bags

Hi there!
I hope you are having a good week so far ... Today starts a new photo inspiration challenge at Papercraft Star and here's the fabulous photo Jan has picked

I have a case exactly like that one on the top ... It belonged to my Grandmother so I dread to think how old it is - One day I am planning to get it out and paint it
It's filled with memorabilia  I received both the day my son was born and on his first birthday ... I know ... He's 30 for goodness sake ...  I just can't help it ... the things I keep ... it's just that they are so special to me ...
So I pondered for about an hour with this photo ... I've seen some lovely suitcase cards on Pinterest but I wanted to go a little different and decided to make a passport cover

See ... I even got the suitcases on there
It has a plastic cover ... not that I had one so I improvised ...

I printed the Sage coloured (Pink Petticoat) digital paper onto white card stock to start  ... measured and cut the size needed to fold around my passport and added some stamping ... then using the paper above (DCWV World Traveller Collection) I cut and stitched various sayings and images onto the card.

This is the front

and this is the back ...

This gets tucked into a clear plastic cover that I made using the 2 clear CD covers you see in the above photo and then the passport gets tucked in too ... I hope I am explaining this properly

Here's the finished item - you can click to enlarge and you will see the clear cover

Phew! ... all that said ... I really hope you will come and play along with us this week at Papercraft Star ... We would LOVE to see your interpretation
As it happens I will be packing my bags today ... I'm off to cornwall tomorrow to visit with some of my husbands family ...
Don't forget to hop over to the blog to check out the projects from the rest of our design team ...
Have a beautiful day

Fresh Strawberries

One of the delights of summer is the fresh fruit available like strawberries and my favourite ... raspberries ... Alas the latter are always quite expensive ...
This week at City Crafter the challenge theme is
"Strawberry Farm"
picked for us by our lovely Kirsty

Source

Kirsty is asking that we make a card or project that includes a strawberry

My project this week was really quick ...

... A little basket of fresh strawberries ... A little treat to show my appreciation to my husband who has worked hard planting up the pots for the garden

The little basket was cut on my Cameo and I added a border edge and made a tiny banner from some gingham paper and twine

The tag was made using an image from the Graphics Fairy
This is the basket prior to adding the
fruit - I just tucked in a little doily

A simple sweet little gift ...

This week at City Crafter we are fortunate to have the talented Linda Breedlove guesting for us ... Linda will be with us for another 2 weeks ... and I just know you will love her creations ... hop over to her blog and take a look ... She is seriously talented!
Our winner this week will also have a GD spot with us so come along and join us!

Thanks so much for stopping by ... Have a lovely day and stay safe

July

The prompt this week at Our Beautiful World is simply "July"
Now if I taken my photo in the last 3 days ... it would be totally different from the one I took on the 1st July ...
On the 1st July - mid summer in the UK - it was raining ... cool, windy  and not at all promising ... the flowers were blooming but taking a beating from the wind and rain ...

This is the shot I took that morning

You can click to enlarge this and you will notice the raindrop trickling down the pansy leaves
How fresh and green those leaves look though ...

I know that July means something different to other countries around the globe and I'm looking forward to what it means to you ...
Of course across the USA you have celebrations for Independence day ... Canada Day I think is celebrated on the 1st of the month too ...
There are birthdays and weddings ... high days and holidays ...  somewhere it is winter ... somewhere there is raging heat ...
That's our beautiful world ...
So please link up your photos Here and share with us your view of July

And I'll leave you with this shot of  one of our flowers that looks like a beautiful sun ...

Enjoy your day!

Feeling the heat ...

Hello there ...
I hope you've had a good week and to all my American friends ... I hope you had a wonderful 4th July!
Finally we have wonderful weather here in the UK and I think the heat is getting to me ... I'm feeling really tired ...

DH and I are off to Cornwall for a few days at the end of next week so I've been making sure I get all my projects done and sending cards that need to be sent ... one of which is to the husband of a friend of mine ... Here's the card I made

Using those lovely MME Be Amazing papers again and I keep every scrap!
I hope he doesn't find it too ... young?

Well, it's in the post so too late to do anything about it ...

I've just picked up my new glasses today ... my first pair of Varifocals and I can tell they are going to need some getting used to ... But the optician has given me 28 days to try them and if I'm not happy I get my money back ... Can't be fairer than that ...

Before I go I want to show you a few handbags I came across yesterday in a local store ... I did Pin some on one of my Pinterest boards but take a look at these

How cute is that hedgehog?
And if you are a dog lover ... maybe ...

or ...

Yes they are really handbags or purses to my friends in the USA

Maybe you prefer owls

... and you have to love this

They even had a handbag (purse) that was in the shape of the Eiffel Tower!! As soon as I can get a photo I will show you ...
In case you are interested Here's a link to their website

Have yourselves a lovely weekend ...

Till soon

Firework Fun

Hello ...

I wanted to join in the challenge at CASology this week where the prompt is "Fireworks" ... Alas I have no stamps remotely like a firework so it called for a little imagination and some fiddly little pieces of glitter paper

It's just a little fun card which I tried to keep as CAS as possible

I used a background birthday stamp by Hero Arts and then made a firework (of sorts) with a rolled up  piece of scrap paper and then cut tiny strips of glitter paper and slightly curled them

... Just a few stars, a tiny little bit of tinsel and that's it! Oh and the reason it's green is because green were the only stars my Thursday group left me with!
Well I did say it was a fun card!

Have a lovely day
