It's Those Jars Again ...

Hello!

I'm back home and already missing the charm of Lincoln and seeing my Aunt's sweet face each morning ... I tell you I could quite easily stay there ... I've just got to figure out how to get my craft room down there ...

Before I left I got Featured Artist award at A Mixed Media Challenge  for my altered tin and today I noticed that I got a Top3 Award at Lessology  for my postcard album altered box lid
Thank You Ladies!! I'm delighted!

I told you that I had been using the lovely digital jars images from Iralamija and here's another card I made a few weeks ago using one of the images - this was for some friends of mine who celebrated their anniversary just over a week ago

I love that peeled paint paper from Fancy Pants ... and you already know how much I love the Ombre effect (Pink Petticoat) on my cards ...

Again I used acetate for the jar ... backed onto some pretty green dot paper ... what you can't really see is that I used my trusty Bostick glue to adhere the acetate to the paper and it leaves a mark like water in the jar ...

I love these shades of green and I know my friends do too so I hope they liked this card

I hope you've had a wonderful week and have a beautiful weekend

Till soon

Sunflowers

Hi there ... How's your week going?

Are you ready for a new challenge at Papercraft Star?
As you know our challenges are all Photo Inspiration and this week we have such a lovely photo

This is just so pretty and summery ...

That lovely hat reminds me of one my Dad bought for me one Easter ... I was about 4 or 5 and it had a bunch of red cherries, flowers and a big red ribbon that trailed down the back ... I loved that hat ...

But it was the sunflowers that grabbed my attention here ... and this is my card

I used the sunflower image from The Graphics Fairy and printed different sizes ... some of which I 'flipped' ... If you want you can see a video tutorial I did Here on changing the graphics

I hand cut them out and popped them in a jar which I printed onto acetate and backed with DP ... I wanted the jar to look like glass

My lovely team mates have some fabulous projects to inspire you this week ... hop over to the blog and take a look ...
You have until next Tuesday 12.01 am US Pacific time to add your link - I hope you will join us

Have a beautiful Day

Count Your Blessings

Hello and good morning to you!

Thank you all so much for your concern and kindness regarding my Aunt ... She is absolutely fine and is never still - always keeping busy ... I sneaked this photo on my mobile phone just to show you

There she is - my lovely 86 year old Aunt -  busy sewing ... making a little pinafore for a friends young granddaughter ...
I am counting my blessings that she is doing so well ... and I am being thoroughly spoilt here.

... And talking of Counting Your Blessings ... that happens to be the theme of this weeks challenge at City Crafter ... chosen for us by the lovely Kirsty

Kirsty is asking that we create a project that must include the word
Bless, Blessed or Blessing

Here's my card

I've had this Hero Arts Baby Carriage digital stamp for the longest time - yet up until now I have never used it ... It just seemed to go so well with the PTI die 'Blessed".

The papers are once again digital from Pink Petticoat Beach cottage collection ... which goes to show that they can be used for a baby card too

Our Guest Designer this week is the sweet Sue Lelli who is with us for the month of August

I do hope you will come and join in with us this week as we count our blessings ... Don't forget to hop over to the blog and take a look at what the rest of our designers have in store for you ...

Enjoy your day and thanks so much for stopping by

I Wonder .....

Hello ...

I'm travelling to Lincoln today to spend time with my aunt - She's had a couple of falls this week though she assures me she is OK - I want to be sure. So my post this morning is prescheduled.

It's a new prompt at Our Beautiful World and the prompt has been chosen for us by the lovely Shahrul
The prompt is "Wonder"

I confess with all that's been going on here lately - I haven't had a great deal of time to be out and about taking photos ... Sometimes life just gets in the way ...
But on one of our rather hot days ... I did notice a blackbird ... way up in the trees and he looked like he was sunning himself. He had his wings spread right out ... I wonder if he knew I was watching

I've noticed that lots of the Magpies have lost some of their feathers ... I read about them molting and whilst they are not my favourite birds ... I kind of feel for this this guy who regularly visits and takes the cat biscuits ... I wonder if he knows how sad he looks

This next photo I pulled from my archives ... It was taken a few years ago on a visit to Derbyshire ... I can just imagine those ducks saying "I wonder where the water went"

All of nature is a wonder to me ... We have some amazing things on this planet of ours ... I will leave you with a shot of a white butterfly who thought I wouldn't see him against the white flower

... so delicate and beautiful

Hop over to the blog and check out the photos from the rest of the team and please link up your Wonders this week ...

Have a lovely day

Till soon

Papercraft Star 156

Good morning!
How's your week going?
I can't believe it's Wednesday already ... where does the time go?
Today would have been my Mum's 88th Birthday ...
Happy Birthday Mum, we love and miss you

Being Wednesday, it's a new challenge at

Here's your Inspiration Photo for this week

There's a lot of detail in there ... lots of things for you to pick out
Me ... I took the 'Book' route and made a book box to store some photos of my recent trip to Cornwall

... And as Cornwall is full of beaches and very much about fishing and the sea ... I decorated it with a beach theme

The box and cover I made from cardstock and then covered it inside and out ... For the first time ever I used a napkin to cover the outside ... My blog friend Asia (Under A Creative Spell) is an expert at this and her work inspired me to give it a go ... The napkins were bought in Cornwall too.
Once I'd adhere the napkin and let it dry ... I gave it a spray with clear lacquer to protect it ready for decorating ...

I used all sorts of things from my hoard of supplies including bits and pieces I found in some old M&S Pot Pourri - I don't throw anything out I think I can use ...  Tip ... Distress stains wok wonderfully on shells ... you can paint them to match your colour scheme

Here's the inside

and a side view

I'm really looking forward to seeing where your imagination will take you on this challenge ...
Hop over to the blog to check out the creations from the rest of the team
And please come and join in our challenge this week

Thanks so much for stopping by

Have a beautiful day
