Mixed Media Challenge ... The Wheel Of Chance

Hello and good morning to you!

I have a project to share which I did for this week's challenge at

This is the lovely colour palette

Some time ago the lovely and Uber talented Miss Mona Pendleton sponsored the challenge at Papercraft Star as well as kindly sending each of the DT the Timeless stamp set and Time Pieces die set designed by her exclusively for My Favorite Things ...

Well, today myself and the rest of the DT at Papercraft Star have been given the opportunity to create a Mixed Media project using Mona's fabulous products, and have them featured up on the blog!

If you follow me you will have seen these stamps and dies frequently on my projects ... I really love them!

For today's challenge I created a wall hanging

I started with a sample tile I picked up in the wood flooring dept of my local DIY store ... My lovely brother cut it into 3 wooden plaques for me to play with

The plaque was first painted and then I went over it with white crackle paint before beginning my layering...
The woodgrain background is paper from the same store and I dabbed white paint over it ...

The clock has been stamped, die cut and then embossed in copper powder - the hands on the cogs (all of which are part of the set) were covered in Vintage Photo distress inks ...

There's more paint on the chequered paper and on my butterflies and the
"Time to be Creative" stamp is also part of the set

I also embossed a little wooden gate and watering can that you can just see peeking out

The burlap is actually made of paper and the Washi Tape was perfect with those little cogs
You can see I had a lot of fun making this ... and I will be using the stamps and dies for a long time to come ... They are so versatile ...
Here's a link to the PCS blog where you can see our original projects using the same stamps and dies... GO visit

to be inspired by all the projects this week

I'm sure Mona and Sue would love to have you play along and I can't wait to see what you create!

Many Thanks to Mona for this opportunity and for her generosity

And thanks to you for stopping by

Just so you know ....

Hello ...

This is just a quick post ... I knew you would want me to let you know ...
She came home!
Gispy ... the roaming cat turned up last night at the front door ... Can you believe it?

Talk about disrupting the household ... My son was so happy he cried ... and he doesn't cry easily ... But poor little Ginger cat ... well he didn't know what to do and ran out in the torrent of rain we were having ...
Eventually he came back in ... Gipsy having been fussed over and fed decided to curl up on my pillow and not much sleep was had.
Suffice to say ... at the crack of dawn she was off again ...

I much prefer dogs!

Till soon

Haunted House

Hello!

The week is flying by once again ... Already it's Wednesday and time for a new Photo Inspiration Challenge at

I love this photo ... such fabulous colours ... and of course there is the cat!
My Gipsy has still not come home ... I think she's found a new home somewhere else - her real name is Minnie - I call her Gispy because she roams so much

Ok, on to my card this week ... My haunted home

I hand cut a card into the shape of a house - I honestly don't remember where the image came from ... it was a digital stored on my computer

The black starry BG that the image is sitting on was done by sponging white ink through the negative left over from some die cut stars

As you can see - I have used the MPD clocks again ... and on friday this week the whole of the Papercraft Star DT have the honour of designing along with Mona and Sue at
A Mixed Media Challenge ... be sure to take a look!

I confess that I am so over Halloween and it hasn't even arrived yet ... but if you are still having fun with your creations ... please link up with us at
The DT have some great examples on the blog for you ... plus there are some suggestions for our photo challenge ... not that I think you will need them with this lovely photo

Thanks for looking in ... Have a beautiful day!

Give Thanks

Hello and good morning from a very chilly Liverpool!

Autumn is here in all it's glory and Winter is waiting in the wings ...
We have a lot to be Thankful for here though ... We don't suffer the hurricanes, tornados, earthquakes or floods etc., that Mother Nature expresses to many parts of the globe

Thankful is the challenge at City Crafter this week where I am hosting

We want to see a card or project that includes either the word
Thanks, Thankful, or Grateful

This week we are Thankful to our wonderful sponsor ... who is offering a stamp set set of choice to the winner of this challenge!

Our Guest Designer is a lovely lady from here in the UK ... Lisette Aka MrsBeez who won challenge week 173 with her beautiful creation ... Please hop over and give her a warm welcome

Finally onto my card

The flower is made from acetate printed on my computer ... which I backed onto white CS and die cut using the TH Tattered Florals die - for the flower centre I used a brad which has an clear epoxy dome - I cut a small piece of scrap paper (with the butterfly on) and sealed it behind the clear epoxy dome

The word Thankful is done using a PTI die and the beautiful woodgrain is actually a scrap of wallpaper! I use double sided tape on it before cutting which really makes it easy to adhere onto my card ...

Ok ... So now its over to you ... Hop over to the CCCB Blog and take a look at the lovely creations from our team ... and link up your entry to be in with a chance to win a fabulous stamp set from

I'll be back with you tonorrow - till then have a lovely day!

Chill

Hey there!

I'm back for this weeks prompt over at

Which has been chosen for us by the lovely Shahrul ... The prompt is

"Chill"

Ok, so does this mean Chill as in ... Relax ... Cool down ... Take it easy?
Or
Does it mean Chill as in ... Cold ... Cool ... Wintery?

Well, that's up to you ... Whatever your interpretation is of our prompt fits fine with us at

My first thought was Chill as in Relax ... and I struggled with it - which just goes to show that I don't "Chill" enough!

But when I thought about it ... nothing relaxes me more than candles flickering

Either soft music or silence ... maybe a good book and a cuddly throw ... and a purring cat on my knee or a dog nestling at my feet just speaks to my heart ...

(Edited with PicMonkey)

For fun I decided to dig out a few photos  from almost 20 years ago - scan them into my computer ... and edit with PicMonkey - Two more meanings of "Chill"

Mikey and I walking our beloved Kelly at one of our local parks - It was winter and I promise you it was VERY Chilly ... no wonder there were no other people!

Time to put my hood up!

Only a few months earlier we were in Cornwall where it was so hot we went into the sea to "Chill"

Kelly must have been roasting in that coat ... but she would not be parted from us

Grateful thanks to Shahrul for this prompt ... without which I wouldn't be smiling now at those lovely memories ...

Have a beautiful Sunday and don't forget to visit the blog and link up with us at

Birthday Card

Hello there ...
I'm a little behind on visiting your blogs ... I am still having trouble with my eyes and being on the computer too long doesn't help ... So please bear with me ...

Yesterday was a friends birthday and a reason to go to lunch and catch up... There are 4 of us who try to catch up once a month ... we all met at Pilates years ago and now we prefer to just do lunch!

This is the card I made for her ... unfortunately it's so dull here that taking photos is very difficult ...

The paper is really from a pad of Christmas paper and has a faint sparkle to it

The butterfly is done on acetate and backed with paper ... I printed the acetate on my computer and then die cut a butterfly

Did I tell you that Miss Gispy is missing again?

It's been nearly 3 weeks now ... You can imagine how upsetting it is ... especially for my son ...
On the upside ... the little stray ginger cat has decided to move in ... at least I know he won't spend another winter outdoors.

We won't give up hope that Miss Gipsy will come back ... she's done it before ... Fingers crossed

I hope you have a lovely weekend ... I'll be back tomorrow for the new prompt at

Till then keep safe and thanks for popping in
