Cosy ...

Hello ...

It's cold outside ... windy and bleak 

I got to choose the prompt today for 

Our Beautiful World

And what better than Cosy...

This time of year with fairy lights twinkling and candles glowing ... it makes for such a cosy atmosphere ... 

The above photo is my mantle piece ... in the evening it looks so warm -

 It's no secret that I love candles and twinkling lights... even on a summer's evening I love the glow and the cosy feeling I get from them...

I love simple glass jars with tea lights in 

Here are a few that light up my home ... ones I didn't make because these were so inexpensive ... both of them were under £2 each

I love this French one ... happily nesting amongst my book folded houses

I took my photos in daylight so you can imagine how cosy these look in the evening

Here's a Christmas one

You may have noticed the one on my mantle ... this is it during the day

I printed the photo of Ross & Sophia onto vellum and wrapped it around the candle ... come evening 

They look like they are walking into a cosy sunset ...

This is my kind of cosy on a cold winter's day ... what's yours?

Prancer and Dancer

Hi there!

I have so much to do today ... grocery shopping is one of them ... I hate grocery shopping!

Especially this time of year ... everywhere is so full of people and you would never think that the shops are closed for just one day ... Christmas Day 

People buy stuff like there is no tomorrow!

I do like going out for a coffee and maybe some gift shopping and last week we went into Warrington ... I like the Cafe Nero ... but I never expected to see these guys there

How cute are they ... and so very friendly ...

I know that the photos aren't marvellous but there were quite a few people around trying to see them too

I love those feet!

It was a friends birthday last sunday ... here's a card I made for her

Glittery silver is so hard to photograph, especially in the gloomy light we have these days

Ok, I have to get on ... My sweet group have their Christmas party tonight, I've a few gifts to wrap ... cakes and biscuits to bake etc., etc.,

Hello!

Another day another challenge ...

Today it's Papercraft Star photo inspiration challenge

Here's the photo Jan's picked for us

... reminds me of days gone by ... and made me think of a snowy little town

My beautiful friend Rebecca sent me some lovely papers and I was smitten with this one of the houses, If you look closely you will see that I trimmed around the roof tops to make a little town surrounded by snowy hills

... You have to imagine you are looking down over the railings

... And it's at one of these houses as evening falls, that the little girl will be visiting ... 

Well, at least in my imagination and what life without imagination

Stillness

The word prompt this week at Our Beautiful World is 

Stillness

... chosen for us by Wendy

Stillness is something I learned a lot about in the years I studied Practical Philosophy ... to let the mind fall still ... to connect instead with sound, sight, the universe and oneself

It takes practice but it can work wonders ... It can dissipate all anxiety

For even on the roughest oceans ... just below the surface of crashing waves ... there is always Stillness

After the storms we had this week ... up 140mph winds ... my wind chimes fell silent

Stillness returned ...

Can you imagine sitting in the heat all day with such Stillness? I couldn't

Especially dressed in dark clothing

They've learnt the art of Stillness ... you don't even see them breathe

Naughty or Nice ...

Hello ...

How are you?

We've had some really high winds battering the coast ... fortunately we are ok but lots of places are flooded out ... It must be heartbreaking ... especially this time of year.

I went to se my sweet group doing their nativity play last night ... It was lovely! And so heart warming to see them enjoying themselves ...

Unfortunately I'm not feeling 100% today ... achy and tired ...

I've been trying to make a few Christmas cards but not getting far ... 

Here's one I did ... kind of makes me think Naughty or Nice

... because I think that cat is being naughty trying to get those birds ... thankfully there is a window between them

... And the cat is nice and warm indoors whilst the birds are in the snow

To be honest I'm not sure where this card came from ... It just seemed to evolve from things on my desk which seems to be how most of my cards are made ...
