Last Birthday of 2013

Happy New Year!!

I hope you all enjoyed your celebrations last night ... We went to a local Greek restaurant for a Greek Mezze which was delicious!

Yesterday my friend's daughter celebrated her 26th birthday so this is my last card of 2013 ... her Birthday card

I still remember the night she was born so clearly ... My friends had given up hope of having a child and after 16 years along came their beautiful daughter ...

I'm struggling to get into creating mode lately ... and have a lot more birthdays coming up

So I'd better find my mojo soon ...

Wishing you all a wonderful
2014

Till soon

City Crafter Fan Club

Hello ...

We're on the last day of  2013 ... Are you ready for celebrating tonight?
It's always bittersweet for me ... I lost my Mum on New Years Eve

Today of course is our last Challenge of 2013 at City Crafter and our hostess this week is our creator Kirsty

All year long Kirsty has worked hard to bring these challenges to you, co-ordinating all the Sponsors and Guest Designers ... leaving comments etc., She's an amazing hard working lady that I'm proud to call my friend ... and I love being on this team of lovely ladies

Kirsty's challenge to us this week is called Fan Club
Create a project that is related to a sport of any kind ... eg. football, golf, rugby, netball

My card was made weeks ago so it's a Christmas card ... but it does feature a sport ... Ice Skating is a sport right?

I loved going to the rink when I was young ... not that I was much good but I still loved it
I cut those sweet skates on my cameo and then just coloured them, silver embossed the blades and drew some eyelets and laces

In my house football reigns ... hence I spend a lot of my time in my craft room ... but if I watch a sport it has to be Ice dancing ...

We'd love to see your creations this week and we are offering a GD spot to the winner too ...

Can I just take this opportunity to wish you all a wonderful 2014

Thank you all for visiting my blog and leaving your sweet encouraging comments ... Every day I am inspired by your creative talent and blessed by your friendships ...

Enjoy your celebrations and keep safe

Smile....

Hello!
I hope you had a good Christmas ... I did

Here in the UK we are being battered by high winds and storms ... Fortunately where I live we don't suffer the floods ... just the high winds but many people  in the southern part of the UK have lost their homes this Christmas which is so sad

I'm staying warm and dry in my craft room for awhile ... In 2 days time it will be my son's birthday (where did all the years go?) .. Here's the card I made for him

I picked up some lovely papers and embellishments at TK Maxx last week ... I think these papers are by American Crafts ...

The Thickers were included in the pack and I cut the camera out from one of the papers

Those balloons are from Crate Paper

I have a few birthday cards to do and it's a bit of a struggle getting back into it ...

I hope you have a lovely day

Till soon

I chose to use a silhouette of children this week

...cut on my Cameo
I'm using that pretty paper and a stamp from my friend Rebecca

... together with a Memory Box die and lots of glitter
This card so reminds me of my childhood ... we didn't have all the fancy waterproof clothes and boots that are available today and we would come in soaking wet and freezing cold having played for hours in the snow!

Our Beautiful World

Good Morning!

The new prompt today at Our Beautiful World is

Christmas

I've seen a lot of Christmases and many things have changed over the years from those magical  childhood days ... full of excitement ... to the utter joy of being a Mother myself and sharing the magic with my son ... I'm blessed in that we have never spent a Christmas apart

The story of Christmasa wonderful story whether you believe or not ... remains in my heart...
And I believe in miracles

I'm not about bright lights and showy things ...

But red berries and snowy pine cones will always be Christmas to me

And this year just a simple Christmas tree ... The little girl ornament was gift ... she symbolises friendship

Important to me all year round ....

Then there are Angels who remind me not only of the Christmas story but of those who are no longer here and the blessings of those who still are

We'd love you to share your Christmas photos at

And maybe tell us the story behind them ... and what makes it special for you

Wishing you a beautiful day and a Christmas full of magic, joy and happiness

~ Ros ~
