Birthdays

Hello and good morning to you ...

January is such a busy month ... Another friend of mine celebrates both her anniversary and birthday this month ...

Tomorrow we are meeting for lunch to celebrate both our birthdays

This is the card I made for her

The little cat is from a die set I received from my friend Rebecca ... I just love it!

The paper beneath the flowers is a pale mint colour but it is so hard to photograph

I've recently backed up all my files from the computer ... I was having nightmares about losing everything ... my whole world is in this computer ... virtually

So along with paying a fee to Google for my photo capacity ... I now pay Drop box for my peace of mind ...

It meant for a few days that my computer was a little slower whilst files were being done and then blogger started playing up ... hopefully now all is well

Once again I would like to thank everyone for their lovely gifts and words following my birthday ...

I am overwhelmed and very grateful for your kindness 

Ok, I have a class tonight for my group of physical and mentally disabled and it's going to take me the rest of the day to prepare all the projects for them ... We are doing clipboard calendars and so far I've made, printed and cut 60 sheets of calendar months ... now onto the clip boards and embellishments ... It's really hard work but so rewarding ... It's always good to put something back into society don't you think?

Trees

Hello!

How are you all? Good I hope

Thank you to everyone who sent me gifts and emails for my birthday and left comments wishing me a lovely day ... I'm so lucky to have such sweet and kind friends

My day was indeed lovely and my home is so full of flowers!

Shadows

Hello and good morning!

The word prompt this week at

Our Beautiful World

 chosen for us by the lovely Milagros is 

Shadows

A fabulous prompt but one that really had me thinking! I had to delve into my archives for some of these ...

The beautiful Bellver Castle in Majorca ... a 14th Century fortress that overlooks the City of Palma provides stunning Shadows throughout the day as the sun moves around

It is so perfectly preserved and the architecture is amazing with a circle of arches in the main courtyard

Of course it is an Island of sunshine even in the winter months ... The streets are so narrow that one side is always in the Shadow ... which is where I head when it is too hot ...

This was taken some years ago in the month of November

So I was happy to step out of the Shadows

One of the funniest photos I took was the Shadow created by a bird on a sun canopy ... It looks headless ...

... because he was peeking over the top

Then there is a strange one ... someone hiding in the Shadows?

Did you ever play the game of making Shadows on the wall with your hands when you were a child? My brothers and I use to do it all the time so the other day in a brief moment of sunshine I tried to recreate this with my hand against the fence ...

Do you see something eerie in the Shadow? No?

Calendar

Hello everyone

It's been a very busy week and I've had no time to spend in my creative space at all this week ...
Have you ever had one of those weeks when everyone needs a piece of you? I don't think my feet have touched the ground this week ... I am hoping to try and catch up on some things today

Last week I did manage to make a new calendar for this year ... I did all the pages in Print shop using digital files ... each one is slightly different 

If I can figure how to add them to my free stuff you are most welcome to use them...

After printing all the pages I found an old photo frame which I distressed with some paint and attached the pages using a clip which was prettied up with both fabric and Washi tape

A few flowers and some braid and that's it ... 

I hope you are all staying warm and safe ... In the news it says that we may get a chance to see the Northern lights here tonight ... All courtesy of the Polar Vortex that's affected the USA ... I would love to see those dancing lights so fingers crossed ... Then again I'll probably fall asleep!

Snow bird

Hello there...

It the first challenge of 2014 with City Crafter this morning and I am hosting this week with this lovely photo

The theme is Snow Bird 

Create a card or project that features snow and a bird or birds

I know many of you are experiencing snow right now so I hope you are keeping warm and safe

As it was my Wedding Anniversary last Saturday ... I made this card for my husband

I started with a piece of grey card stock and sprayed it with Mister Huey's Calico white then added dimensional 'snow' with Snow Writer ... 

The bench and tree are dies by Memory Box and the birds are left overs that I cut on my Cameo 

The sentiment and music notes were done on my computer

My DH loved his card and it looks much better IRL ... more dimensional
