Birthday Boy

Hi there!
I wonder if your week has been as busy as mine ... I don't seem to have stopped!

Yesterday my lovely friend Pat came for coffee and a little advice about an album she is making for her granddaughter who is off to Camp America shortly ... Pat is a novice crafter and whilst I am by no means an expert I am happy to offer advice and show her a few things I've learned ... Suffice to say we were still working 6 hours later having sorted a project for the club and having helped Pat to put together a couple of cards.

Last Saturday my DH asked me to make a birthday card for his friend of over 50 years ... he was turning 70 ... Funny thing is, though they have been close friends for all those years, neither of them know when the other's birthday is ... My DH was told by someone else ... It's got to be a man thing - all they seem to talk about is golf and football!

So here's my card

I used the colours of the football team they support and my card is virtually all stamping ... I won a gift certificate for Gina K Designs at the Mod Squad Challenge and I ordered the Dots stamps which came so quickly ... wonderful service!

So you can see a mix of stamps here, PTI, Gina K, Basic Grey and Inkylicious
When I stamped the PTI "Yay! it's your birthday" I didn't ink the word 'birthday' - instead I digitally added 70TH to my card ... That was my starting point

You can see that I stamped a row of those dots inside the card too and to finish I decorated a handmade envelope

I have 2 more sleeps till I'm off for a well earned break in the sun ... I've lots to do till then including my packing!
So I hope the rest of your week goes well

Be safe and thanks for looking in on me

City Crafter 211

Hello and Good morning!

It's time for a new challenge over at City Crafter ... This is our 211th challenge!
To think that we have come up with so many challenges and that you lovely people have risen to each and every challenge with your amazing talent and creativity is just wonderful!

This week we have the awesome Char hosting and her challenge to us is to
use a clothes pin/s on your project

Our Guest Designer this week is Maggie from Bulgaria our winner of week 204 ... Click on the link to visit her blog and see her beautiful creations
Once again one lucky winner this week will also have a GD spot with us

On to my card ... I had fun with this ... using bits and pieces of left over paper and embellishments

You can probably see a scrap of left over paper there which I stamped and sponged to use on This card

My little clothes pin is holding the word 'hello' which I cut on my Cameo - I stuck a little butterfly that was reclaimed from a shop bought card onto my clothes pin and added a little gem

There's something so satisfying about making a card you like using up your scraps

Hop on over to the CCCB blog to see what my fellow DT members have come up with this week and please link up your creations this week ... you know we love to see what you make

Wishing you a wonderful day from another wet and windy day in the UK!

Keep safe

Clouds

Good morning!

Time for a new prompt word at

And this week our lovely Australian friend Robyn has picked the word

Clouds

We rarely have a cloudless sky ... I love spotting shapes in clouds ... I look for shapes everywhere and see them in the most unusual things ... do you ever do that?

I love wispy clouds in a bright blue sky ... or clouds that puff up like cotton wool
But this past week we've had  a lot of big fat heavy black clouds ... so full of rain

...Even in Lincoln those old rain clouds began to roll in over the fields - good for the newly planted crops - This is the view from my Aunts back garden

And it's worth showing again a photo I took one evening last year... A stunning sunset that made it look like the sky was on fire

Just look at those fiery clouds

We'd love to see your photos this week over at

Come and link up and mingle with us

Have a lovely Sunday

Sparkle & Shine

It's anything but sparkle and shine here ... It's absolutely pouring down! Not that I mind too much ... I've just booked my DH and I a short break in Majorca where the sun is shining ... It's just over a week before we go but I am so looking forward to it...

I have a card to share for this week's challenge at CAS.ology  where the cue card is metal

There are so many option with this one ... In the end I went with this

There's metal antennae on my butterfly and the stars are also made of metal and though it is difficult to see, the sentiment from Precious Remembrance is embossed in Black rainbow sparkle powder

A closer look at the stars which originally were part of some dangly earrings ...

I'm off to see my sweet group tonight ... looking forward to it

Have a lovely day

Awesome

There's a special birthday coming up soon ...
My adorable and awesome great nephew Ross will be 12 years old next week ... I can hardly believe he's almost a teenager ... where does the time go ... His daddy would have been so proud of him

I thought the new stamp set by Precious Remembrance (New Day) would be perfect to use on a card for him

I used 4 different inks to stamp the paints ...

Then I mixed and matched sentiments ... The top one is from New Day (can you tell I'm loving this set?) then a digital "hope your day is" followed by the "Awesome" stamp from a really old set by Basic Grey

You can also see the embossing on my card base using a Tim Holtz folder

I hope you are having a good day ... It's sunny here but cool and windy ... I'm longing for warmer weather

Till soon take care

Wishing You Brighter Days

Hello!
It's my turn to host at City Crafter again this week and inspired by the bright colours around lately I have come up with the challenge
Citrus Flavour

This week I want you to create a card or project that includes
ALL 3 Citrus colours Orange, Lemon & Lime
You may use other colours just as long as these 3 are included

I made a card for a lady in Blogland from the USA who I don't actually know but I heard that she went through a terrible ordeal so I wanted to send something from the UK to cheer her up. It's always good to know people are thinking of you

I used Goosebumps and an old HA stamp on a piece of white card then sponged inks over it

The clock hands were also sponged over ... My card looks much more vibrant IRL but it was a dull rainy day when I took these photos and I needed to get it in the post

Our Guest Designer this week is Ela a previous winner at City Crafter ... Ela creates the most wonderful projects ... the detail is beautiful! Hop over and take a look at her work
Our winner this week will also have a GD spot with us ...

I hope you are having a good week so far ...

Have a lovely day and thanks so much for stopping by
