Seeing Spots

Good morning...

It's my turn to pick the word prompt for
So this week the prompt is
Spots

We may not have summer weather here but we did have a relatively mild winter so plants have flowered early and the garden has been full of these pretty butterflies ... I managed to zoom in on this one which was sitting right at the top of my Forsythia tree ... Those spots resemble eyes ... to keep away predators
It was quite difficult to spot this one camouflaged on the gravel

Lucky I didn't step on it ...
Of course butterflies are not the only thing we have had a lot of ... the ladybirds have been just about everywhere ...

I keep finding them in the house and have to put them outside again ... And would you take a look at these guys

Hmm, enough said...

Ladybird and butterfly sharing a brief moment of Spring sunshine and this female blackbird with her spotted chest loves letting me know she's wants feeding ... she comes and sits by my door

I guess if you look you can find spots everywhere ... even on Bananas

And I just have to show you this sweet key holder I bought a couple of weeks ago ... I just couldn't resist those spots

...Or the cute little owls

Ok, I'm off to Our Beautiful World blog to see what my fellow DT members have posted ... Care to join me?

I hope you link up your "Spots" photos with us this week ... and be sure to link back to

Have a wonderful Sunday and thanks so much for stopping by

Missing You

Hello!!

I'm back home after a few days break ... Back to a cold and wet Liverpool

I don't know what I am missing the most ... those wonderful cappuccinos with cream, relaxing outdoors enjoying the sea air and the lovely scenery or just having the warm sun washing over me...
Mind you, the first day in Santa Ponca it rained heavily ... I've never been there when it rained but believe me a warm rainy day in Majorca is better than a dry cold one here!  I caught this little sparrow sheltering in the top of a palm tree ... guess he didn't like the rain either

which reminds me ... remember when I posted this photo way back in November for Our Beautiful World?

Well it's vacant no longer ... Excuse the blurry photo, but I had to be quick when I saw Mum and Dad feeding their babies

I have to keep an eye on my little ginger cat ... he's already tried to get up there but for now he's content to follow me everywhere ... he missed me ... Oh, and Gispy ... Well, she's gone missing again ... been 4 days now... sigh ...  Here's hoping she'll come back soon

I hope you are all doing well ... Wishing you a beautiful weekend

Till soon

Recipe Book

Hi there ... How's your week going?

It's challenge time at City Crafter once again and this week we have Anna hosting for us
Anna is asking that we make a project related to the kitchen
(e.g.apron, cupcakes, kitchen utensils, recipes)

I don't know about you but I tend to keep pieces of paper with my favourite recipes all over the place ... promising to file them somewhere...sometime
Well this challenge pushed me to make a book to finally store these recipes ...

I used an inexpensive flip photo album to make this ... took me a long time to print all my recipes onto blank postcards but it was worth it ... In fact I've started another book as I filled this so quickly - blame Pinterest!

I made a pocket inside the front cover to hold conversion charts which I printed and laminated to keep them clean - I guess I'm hoping that there'll be no excuse for my DH not to cook once and a while

All the papers and embellishments came from my stash - those stickers I've had for a long time

of course I needed somewhere to put the books ... and I found the perfect container

A vintage radio tin which I picked up for £1.25 in the post Christmas sales ... it was filled with creamy toffees which were delicious

I love this tin and it looks so good in my kitchen and now all my recipes are to hand

our Guest Designer this week is a very talented lady -
Hop over to the blog to see her lovely creation and those from the rest of our team

I'm still on holiday so forgive me for not visiting your blogs for a while - I hope to catch up with you soon ...

Have a lovely week

Till soon

Splish Splash

Hello!

Our Word prompt this week at

has been chosen for us by the lovely Kirsty ...
The word is
Bath

Well, whilst I was in Lincoln recently I caught these guys taking a bath ...
(Click photos to enlarge)

I can't believe how quickly those little ducklings can swim

Mum was quite happy to stand and watch once she'd had a little bathe

And as for me ... well, as you are reading this (scheduled) post ... I hope to be taking a bath too ... somewhere like this

or maybe dipping my toes in the cool blue waters

around the sunny Isle of Majorca ...

Have a beautiful day and link up your photos for our prompt word this week at

Catch you when I'm home ... be good!

Ahoy!

Hello ...

I just had to do a card for CAS.ology before I left ...

I saw the cue card 'Splash'

and having recently bought the Dockside stamps by Wplus9 from Make the Day Special I thought it was just perfect for what I had in mind ...

Here's what I came up with

My 'sea splash' is quite glossy ...

I inked up my paint splat stamp from Inkylicious with some distress stains ... stamped and dried it and then went over it again using Versamark and clear embossing powder ... you don't need to line up the stamp exactly ... in fact it's more effective if you don't
I'm pleased with how it turned out ... what do you think?

The little anchor is from my stash ...

Have a great day and take care

Birthday Boy

Hi there!
I wonder if your week has been as busy as mine ... I don't seem to have stopped!

Yesterday my lovely friend Pat came for coffee and a little advice about an album she is making for her granddaughter who is off to Camp America shortly ... Pat is a novice crafter and whilst I am by no means an expert I am happy to offer advice and show her a few things I've learned ... Suffice to say we were still working 6 hours later having sorted a project for the club and having helped Pat to put together a couple of cards.

Last Saturday my DH asked me to make a birthday card for his friend of over 50 years ... he was turning 70 ... Funny thing is, though they have been close friends for all those years, neither of them know when the other's birthday is ... My DH was told by someone else ... It's got to be a man thing - all they seem to talk about is golf and football!

So here's my card

I used the colours of the football team they support and my card is virtually all stamping ... I won a gift certificate for Gina K Designs at the Mod Squad Challenge and I ordered the Dots stamps which came so quickly ... wonderful service!

So you can see a mix of stamps here, PTI, Gina K, Basic Grey and Inkylicious
When I stamped the PTI "Yay! it's your birthday" I didn't ink the word 'birthday' - instead I digitally added 70TH to my card ... That was my starting point

You can see that I stamped a row of those dots inside the card too and to finish I decorated a handmade envelope

I have 2 more sleeps till I'm off for a well earned break in the sun ... I've lots to do till then including my packing!
So I hope the rest of your week goes well

Be safe and thanks for looking in on me
