City Crafter - Nautical

Good morning!

I'm hosting the challenge this week at City Crafter and I've chosen this lovely photo to inspire you

I just love the nautical look so this week I am asking that you
Create a card or project with a nautical theme ...

A male friend of ours is due to retire this week so my card is for him

I used a stamp from the New Day set by Precious Remembrance along with distress inks to create the background ... 2 other stamps sets were used here as well and a little paper piecing on the sails

The beads I've had forever and that broken piece of fence and I never discard any little pieces of string

Our Guest Designer this week is Jenny Martin of My Paper Epiphany Jenny was our winner in week 206 ... hop over and say hello!

My fellow DT members have more inspiration for you up on the blog ... And the winner will have a GD spot with us too so get nautical and come join us this week

Wishing you all a wonderful day

Bees Delight

Hello...

It's dull and damp here today ... We had a really nice day yesterday weather wise ... It kind of lulled us into believing summer was here ... sigh

This week the prompt word at Our Beautiful World is texture and I shared a few photos on my blog ... But I thought you would also like to see these that I took of my climbing hydrangea which the bees just love!

Busy little bees are all over this bush

... from a distance it looks like puffs of white

... But I love the close up shots ...

 ... so amazing and delicate

There's a little bees bottom in this shot ... can you see it?

See?

I hope your day is brighter than ours!

Till soon

Texture

Happy Sunday and Happy June!!

It's time for a new word prompt at
And this week Milagros has chosen a terrific prompt

Texture

Everywhere you look you will find texture ... I could have shared so many photos this week but not wishing to bore you - here we go with just a selection of mine

This butterfly took a liking to my scarf hanging over a garden chair - it gave me the opportunity to get close and capture the texture of those delicate wings

Even his face along with the texture on the scarf ... I had a similar opportunity with a little bee

The gossamer texture of his wings against the fur on his body is so beautiful ...

And how about this crackled glass texture from my wind chime ... it changes colour during the night

This one fascinates me

The stunning shape and texture of a shell ... so rough outside

Smooth as satin on the inside

Now if you are arachnophobic look away ... these last shots made me squeal and I took them!
I saw a web on this rubbery looking fern leaf ...

inadvertently I disturbed a plant next to it and a million tiny spiders rained down

You can see the texture of the web, the rubbery leaves of the plant but you can't avoid those tiny monsters
Are you itching?? I bet you're itching ... Lol!

I'm no professional photographer ... I don't even have a fancy camera - I just snap whatever is around me and we'd love for you to do the same and share with us at

Have a lovely sunday

Thanks so much for stopping by today

Missing Gipsy

It's just not the same without you ...

I sit at the window looking out for you every night ....

... but you don't come

Macey comes every day to see if you're back but I don't want to talk to her

Mummy says you'll be back soon ... be patient

We had a rough day yesterday, Gipsy is still missing and we posted the usual information with the vet etc., just in case anything should happen and she is brought in ... We got a phone call at 11am to say a cat matching her description had just been brought in following a road traffic accident and could we get there right away...

My son and I headed straight there and we had to wait awhile as the cat was in surgery ... then they took us through ... Thankfully it was not Gipsy ... albeit that this kitty's colour and markings were exactly the same as Gipsy ... but this one was a tiny kitty ... only young I would say.
It was heartbreaking to see her all wired up and in such a bad way ... a bittersweet moment.

My son was so upset ... so much so that he had to go back later that day to check on the kitty who, I'm glad to say was holding on and not only that but a couple had offered her a home if she survives.

So we play the waiting game once more ... Thankfully my little ginger boy has no intention of leaving my side
You never own a cat ... they always own you

Till soon

The Same But Different

I'm still looking for my mojo ... I think Gipsy may have run off with it ...
Neither have returned
Today is my big brother's birthday ... yesterday was a male friends' birthday ... They are both the same age as it happens ... so I made 2 cards ... the same theme but slightly different

For my brother - This one

The background was stamped on Watercolour paper using distress stains and some water ...

... the camera cut on my Cameo ... It wasn't until I went into my computer files yesterday that I realised I used virtually the same things to make his card last year ... Obviously his passion is photography ... The good thing is that he probably wont remember what I sent him last year ...

And for our male friend, this card, the same style but slightly different

I think I prefer the second card ... what do you think?

It's still dull and wet here and my holiday glow is fading fast ... sigh

I hope you're having a good week ...

Till soon be safe
