Our Beautiful World

Hello ... Happy Sunday to you

It's my turn to come up with a prompt at

Our Beautiful World

This week and I have chosen Aromatic

This is one of my pretty geraniums ...  It has a beautiful aroma.
There are so many things that are Aromatic, some just can't be captured... like the heady scent after a rainfall ... or new cut grass... bread baking and coffee brewing
Some aromas can transport you back to another time and place ... or remind you of someone who is no longer around...
Some things only have to be touched to discover their Aromatic secret like the lavenders in my garden

They may appear delicate but their aroma is strong and lingering

The same goes for some of the herbs I have

Thyme

Oregano

...and Rosemary ... one of my favourite herbs

Do you have a favourite aroma? We'd love you to share your photos for the prompt at

Our Beautiful World

Have a beautiful day

Thank you kindly

Hi there ...
I hope you are well ...

I'm off to Lincoln this weekend to stay with my Aunt for a while ... I've been debating whether to take anything with me to 'play' with ... or maybe I should just take a break?

Not a lot to share today ... just a gift for a sweet blog friend who 'enables' me to get things I couldn't easily get myself... like some PTI dies one of which was the phone cover die

I had some fabric in my drawer that was just her colour but despite using an iron - on backing and lining it ... it still frayed (sigh) Thus I am calling it a Shabby Chic phone cover Lol!

Now, you may think that I could have just cut out two rectangles to make this ... and true I could have done and machine stitched it ... done in no time (with no fraying) The thing is I was hoping that I could use this as a project for my special needs group - cut out 20+ in double quick time ... and with the holes already in for them to sew it would be terrific...

Unfortunately I have discovered that the holes don't 'punch' that well even with my felt and pricking out for one is not too bad ... but for over 20 sheesh! But I'm sure I can still use this die to make gifts

I also used the Luggage Tag die to make a "Thank You" note to insert into the pouch

So Miss Sue ... this is for you ... With love

Till soon

City Crafter 223

Helloooo!

It's Tuesday already and time for another challenge at City Crafter where we have the lovely Charlene hosting for us with

Home is where your Heart is

(Source unknown)

Char is asking that we create a project with a house on which gave me an opportunity to use up some of my scraps

The little house is Die cut from a Nina Brackett design

I misted some CS and did a little stencilling on a scrap of white CS for the background

... I had a little aqua vellum left over from another project ... enough to cut out a sprig of leaves and the sentiment is computer generated so all in all a quick little card

Our GD this week is Lula ... Winner of week 217 and this week's winner will also have a GD spot with us so I hope you can play along ...

Don't forget to hop over to CCCB and take a look at all the projects from our team this week

Thanks so much for your visit ... Have a great day!

Watercolour

Hi there...

Just popping in with a card for the new challenge at

Where the challenge this week is watercolor

Actually that is a challenge for me ... I tend to over think things and it doesn't help ...
Anyway I just decide to 'go with it' and smooch my cardstock into some Gelatos which I'd watered down and mixed about ...

The sentiment was perfect for me with this look ... This is my own kind of beautiful

I had a tiny piece of TH washi tape on my cutter and I smooched that too and added it just ... well, just because ...

I hope you are all having a good start to the week ...

Take care

Chocolate

Do you like chocolate?
I love chocolate ... especially milk chocolate
Today at

Kirsty has chosen the prompt for the week and it's Chocolate
Even writing it makes me want some...

Funnily enough I could eat the 'bits' of this lovely ice cream ... but I'm not a fan of chocolate ice cream or dark chocolate ... nor do I care much for chocolate cake...

I prefer a bar of chocolate ... or something similar like a Kit Kat

(Edited in Picmonkey)

Especially with a cup of tea...

I need to watch my sugar levels ... sad but true ... so chocolate is off the agenda for a while
Well, perhaps a little won't hurt ...

No no... I'm going to hand over to you before I succumb

Link up with us at Our Beautiful World this week ... and torture me with your photos (gulp)

Have a beautiful day

Mixed Media Card

Hello....

How's your day been? We've had some really heavy rain today
Just look what it did to my flowers

The cats have been stuck in most of the day as have we ... Still, it gave me a chance to create

I'm thrilled to say that my dolphins tag got a Highlight award at the

Thank you ladies!!
It inspired me to join in again this week where the challenge is Summer and the optional element is burlap
Because we have such grey clouds today I used grey card but applied all the lovely colours of a summer sea

I used gold Gelatos on the card base first and then took a piece of white CS which I misted in gold and blue Shimmerz paints, stencilled some Patina Shimmerz texture paste and sprayed again...

The layer on top with the shells is a piece of a napkin which I separated and glued to another scrap of CS then used my finger to add some aqua ink along with  Liquid Pearls, seed pearls and stick on pearls...

I did used the optional element ... some grey burlap which I ruffled and stapled down before adding the  wooden 'Hugs' and in the top left corner I used sticky letter to spell the word Summer.

All in all lots of messy playing today ...

I'll be back tomorrow with a new word prompt for
Till then be safe and enjoy your weekend
